This was after they already rescheduled our service booked a year out, on short notice due to "an emergent job", out by over a month. We were charged $829.01 to service these systems. This is nearly double the national average for this service. They handed us a card with a prebooked appt the very day they completed the install of our $20,000+ system last year, so we assumed the first service was included in that price. We inquired about this charge, wondering if maybe there was a billing error - AND they had to come back the next day emergently because they broke a part and left oil leaking in our basement - exposing my toddler, our pets, and ourselves to oil fumes all night long, leaving us to sop up their mess with towels. They replaced what they broke, but it should've never happened. And they said "Well you got a new tiger loop out of it"... yes because YOU broke it, and put a broken part back into our 1 year old HVAC system! We emailed the company through their contact us link under "billing" on both Sunday September 6th and Sunday September 20th without response. My husband called them yesterday after getting a text that our bill was "past due" and the response we got was "Oh well, that's what we charge, you don't have to use us in the future. We fixed what we broke so we're all set, you owe what you owe." At a minimum, a discount should've been provided for having to take an additional day off from work for them to come fix the mess they made and having to deal with the foul odor of leaking oil overnight, while having to soak up the leak on our own accord. Nothing was done or offered. All around, the worst customer service experience I've ever had. This company should've made right on their error. I've never been one to write a negative review about a small business, but this is beyond unacceptable. We had used Homestead in the past for water services, with great experience, so to say the least, I am extremely disappointed in this experience

They completed all of the work on testing, and set up the new equipment on my Nest thermostat. They cleaned up completely, and walked me through all of the new equipment. All said, they did the best job I could ask for. In the office, Julie ably worked out the schedule, invoices, and rebates available for the equipment I was purchasing. I will be pleased to continue using Charter Oak for any ongoing maintenance, if any is required.

We have been of customers Gottier Plumbing & Heating AND their Oil service for well over 35 years;…read morethey have been there for us when we've needed them and they have provided excellent service and support. 2 months (December) after we moved into our house in Vernon, CT, many years ago, our furnace needed to be replaced. We reached out to Gottier, a local Oil/Plumbing & Heating company. They came right out and replaced the furnace and put us on a payment plan. Very easy and excellent work. Well, 37 years later, we found ourselves needing to replace that furnace. We called Gottier. We didn't even get a 2nd opinion because we didn't want to use someone else. They gave us another great payment plan and came out to install the furnace. When they left that afternoon we had a new furnace and everything was cleaned up as if they hadn't even been there. Unfortunately, they didn't clean up the rest of the basement so we're going to have to do that ourselves! Lol. When I lost my job a few years ago it happened to coincide with an increase in oil prices and our monthly budget payment was going to increase significantly. I called Gottier and told them that I had lost my job and the woman I spoke to was just so sympathetic and adjusted our budget plan so that we could afford it until I found another job. Her last words to me as we hung up: "Promise me that when you get another job you'll call and we can adjust the amount to reflect the increase." I promised and 6 weeks later, I called her to tell her of my new job. She was so excited for me! And for Gottier, of course! What's prompting me to put this in a review today? Well, a couple of days ago we got a phone call from Eric at Gottier fuel telling us that, as we could imagine, given the state of the world, oil prices were going to go up. We had a scheduled delivery 2 days hence. He was calling because he wanted us to know that the prices were going up so we wouldn't be shocked. That's amazing customer service for sure! They are so kind, so helpful and so understanding. If you're looking for an oil company and or a heating and plumbing company, you certainly cannot go wrong with Gottier.
