The food is delicious! One complaint though is that they don't tell you about the time limit. After ordering multiple small plates, 2 medium pasta plates and entrees I was informed by the waiter and later the owner that my time (2 hr) time limit was up... if I wanted dessert it had to be "to go." Frankly this is awkward and I was not informed of the 2 hour time limit when I was seated or reserved my reservation.... I was happy to order extra or tip more. Be advised you have 2 hours (whether the kitchen is quick or slow)... eat fast. They have you on a clock! read more

I don't understand the hype over this place. Many mistakes which you wouldn't expect from a restaurant with this reputation. The hamachi ceviche was excellent. Great balance of acid and the potato chips added crunch and the right amount of spice. The waygu beef carpaccio featured thin slices of beef but was so overloaded with toppings that you could not taste the featured ingredient. The raw jalapeños were so overpowering that you had to remove them. Sometimes less is more. The pasta with lavender duck was next. I'm not going to lie, the pasta was excellent. Perfectly cooked with proper bite. The sauce was rich and creamy. The little bits of lavender duck were lost, there was little reason to include the duck except for the description on the menu which sounds great. But don't get me wrong, it was very tasty pasta dish. Main course or "large" was next and a total failure. My wife had the scallops. 4 to the plate. Nice sear on one side of the scallop, no color on the other. But the main issue was the salt level and this is coming from salt loving people. Meat can take all the salt you got, scallops and fish need a deft hand. Way too liberal in this case. Next was my chicken. It came out of the oven a black cinder. A carbon covered burnt inedible mess. However the server and manager insisted that is how they serve it. I just don't understand and wish I had taken a picture. Sometimes my grill will flare up and if I don't catch it the chicken will go up in flames. That was this. Overall the service was great. The smalls that required no cooking were good but the carpaccio was overwhelmed. The pasta chef has skill. The large were failures. The chicken should have never left the kitchen and if that was intentional then the chef needs to rethink his vision. Am I being judgmental? Sure, but with their reputation they should be up to the test. Grade = C read more

Server rushed us out before others who sat before...really disappointing w how they removed plates or dealt w any of our questions...no option to pay for extra bread? I mean there's NO BREAD...place is overrated and staff was rude... read more

My husband and I had reservations here for two months, which seems to be the normal amount of time for getting in. I happened to log on at what must have been the exact moment they released a new week because I was lucky enough to score a 7pm Friday reservation. I received many confirmation texts about the reservation that actually came from a real human, not an automated system, which I thought was a really nice personal touch. The staff was great while were there, very informed on the menu. And since we went during holiday season, we were surprised with real carolers performing a song! The food here is good. We ordered two off of each menu section (small, medium, and large). We got a mixture of fish, pastas, meats including a duck ragu which was very good but had a spicy kick that I wasn't expecting, and their lamb rack that was phenomenal. I do think that their prices are a little higher than what I would probably think it's all worth BUT with that being said, since the restaurant is a BYOB it definitely makes up for the extra cost of the meal. I think this place is definitely somewhere to give a shot on a special night out for a date or a birthday, etc. read more

We were lucky enough to get reservations to Hearthside on their second night and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. Phenomenal food and service. Stunning room. BYO of course. We went with the carpaccio, the Brussel sprouts, the prawns, the bucattini, risotto and the scallops. While it seems like a lot of food, the plates were small and perfect. The highlight were the risotto, scallops and the carpaccio. Great apple fritter dessert too. I anticipate reservations will be harder to come by in the coming weeks, but I definitely plan on visiting again. read more

We came here on a busy not and they did not disappoint! Food was phenomenal, our server was so amazing we left a bigger tip than usual.

Challenging to get reservations! Maybe expanding hours would help - there's a hungry market put there!

Amazing from beginning to end!!! The kale salad and Brussel sprouts were amazing!!! We all tried a different pasta and the flavors were all so delicious!! We shared the chicken and the steak! Both just melted in our mouths!! The potatoes w the Dion sauce omg!! This has a restaurant you do not want to miss!!! read more

Small cute local spot. Loved the ambience and service was great. Their menu is divided into 3 sections, small bites, medium and large. Enjoyed everything I ordered and the blondie brownie dessert was to die for. I wanted to go back again today but then was sad when I realized they are not open on Sunday's. Thank you hearthside for such an amazing first experience. I will be back! Ps I recommend the prawns and sea bass! read more

Came here with a party of 6 in January 2022 and we were seated at a table that was essentially private (we didn't ask for this!). We ordered the chef's menu for each person, which was about $100 per person. Totally worth it. We tried about 70-80% of the menu and nearly all of it lived up to the hype. The wagyu beef carpaccio was incredible. The orecchiette was amazing. Honestly, the only slightly disappointing part of the night was the porterhouse. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but not as life-changing as the price would suggest. Overall, still a 5-star experience because all the other dishes were beautiful read more

First of all it is very difficult to get reservations before 9, but it's definitely worth the wait, especially because it's walking distance for me and BYOB. The service is impeccable, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The building is new and space is very modern. Had the grilled octopus as an appetizer which was perfect, the right amount of char and a great sauce to accompany the dish. In addition we got a tiny pasta dish which was amazing, for our entrees my gf got scallops and I got a flat iron steak dish, both delicious but smaller portions. Total dinner was about $110 before tip, definitely worth the price. We will keep trying to get reservations. read more

Unbelievably delicious. It's prix fix so it's not the same every other week. Happened to a perfect menu for me on my anniversary (I'm not a super adventurous eater). The place is well designed and the staff was amazing. A little pricey but well worth it and it's BYOB so there's a bonus on the bill. read more

Deliciously curated and designed down to every detail. Sausage pasta was a bit salty. Prepare to dig a little deep into your pockets, but it's worth it for the occasional romantic fancy date night. read more

We had our wedding at Hearthside over the weekend and were completely blown away by how amazing the day went. The food was unbelievably delicious and the staff's attention to detail was incredible! Planning everything with them was so simple and enjoyable. Every request was met with a yes. Even our guests couldn't stop complimenting the space, food, and staff. We can't thank everyone at Hearthside enough for making our wedding day absolutely perfect! read more

What an awesome meal at this place. I have heard good things and wanted to see for myself and oh boy was I not disappointed. They had a good size menu so we made diligent work trying to order everything. We ordered the fresh bread which you have to get and some salads. I also ordered the beef wagyu which was easily my favorite dish and a must get , just packed with flavor. We also ordered a couple pastas which were super light and fresh. For entree I split the crispy pork shank which was the bomb. The crispy crust with the spicy sauce just hit the plate perfectly. This is easily my new favorite spot in South Jersey and I will be back for more! read more

Love this BYO! The staff and food was terrific. The Wagyu Carpaccio and Mussels were out of this world. Ashley the manager was really a pleasure and made our dining experience a pleasurable one. Can't wait to go back. read more

I really wanted this to be a positive review, but I guess I needed to manage my expectations. My wife made the reservations months ago, and I was looking forward to a great meal. The decor is beautiful, and we had a great table. I went all in and ordered the porterhouse (at $106). We also ordered the kale salad, the grilled octopus and risotto. All were great, even though I'm not a kale fan. Just wish they offered more salad options. The big disappointment was the steak. We ordered it medium, but it arrived underdone. Since we were taking most of it home, we didn't send it back. But there was way too much gristle and much of it was not even edible. At $100, you expect an amazing cut of meat. Finally, we ordered the plum crumble, which had no crumble. Nothing. Just cooked plums. I even showed it to our server, and I think he agreed since he removed it from the tab. Total tab was $200. Without liquor, that's a hefty tab. You just assume everything will be fantastic. Unfortunately, it was not. With many restaurants within a mile radius, the competition is tough. We'll see what the future holds. read more

So expensive already and the price of the special menu addition was misleading. Thought we were being told the new per person price if we opted for the special but discovered when we got the bill that the price of the special was in addition to the $125 per person. A very costly misunderstanding. To me, the food was not worth the price tag. read more

There is a select list of restaurants in the suburbs that really know what they're doing, and Hearthside is one of them. The food, service, and ambiance were all very good. We finally had our first very highly anticipated visit to Hearthside the other day, and after hearing two years worth of accolades, we weren't let down. The menu is divided up into small, medium, large, and for-the-table plates, and our server recommended that we could make a decent meal out of around six plates. With that in mind, we got the tomato and Lancaster peach special, the red snapper ceviche, the grilled octopus all as small plates. For our mediums, we got the venison tortellini special and the agnolotti (smoked celery root, wow), which were both complex and savory and absolutely delicious. For our large plate, we split the day boat scallops. Dessert was a mellon and kombucha sorbet and a blueberry panna cotta. Every single bite was intriguing and delicious. Combined with a decor that's warm and cozy, inviting and intimate, Hearthside is an absolutely must-visit restaurant. read more

This was our first time at Hearthside. What a fantastic restaurant! I'd say that on the spectrum of casual to formal, it skews toward formal. But, it's not at all stuffy or pretentious. Outstanding/exceptional service from start to finish (I can't stress that enough), cool ambiance, creative and delicious food, BYOB, and wood-fired cooking. We will definitely be back! read more

Finally checked out Hearthside in the neighborhood with the husband and no regrets!! Loved our waiter so much who was so friendly and down to earth and was seated outside with heat lamps that kept us warm throughout. We had the beef carpaccio, mussels, pasta dish, and pork chop and can't wait to eat it all over again. My favorite was definitely the beef carpaccio and mussels- so flavorful and light to start out our meal. read more

I'll add another 5 star review to this place, not like it needs the help. Seats in this BYO Collingswood bistro are harder to come by than Hamilton tickets. Finally got a reservation this week with two friends. Meals are served family style. The chefs pay special attention to pairing flavors. They put a lot of thought into how/when the dishes arrive tableside. Our waiter Patrick was awesome; its nice to get a true professional server once in a while. Dinner highlights included the carpaccio, the spaghetti & crab pasta course, the divers scallops, and the bronzino. I say "highlights" but the truth is, everything was delicious. If I can ever get another reservation, I'll be back. read more

Can't speak to the food but not impressed with their "first come, first served (but not really)" policy. After patiently waiting in line for them to open at 5, they told my husband and I we would have to continue to wait while they let tables for four sit empty to see if a larger party would come. That's not a great policy to begin with, but they could at least be upfront about it on their website, which we made sure to check before heading out. On top of that, both women at the hostess stand were not particularly friendly, borderline rude. read more

Top 5 restaurant experience, anywhere, ever. Perfect. Spectacular. The food is magical. Eating the pasta with morel mushrooms was a religious experience. I had high expectations and this exceeded them. My husband and I both agreed that everything was perfect. Our waitress was great, food came perfectly spaced out and timed. The bread and butter basket was the best ever. I mean ever. The duck was the best I've ever had. I am usually disappointed when I order duck, but this dish was on a different level. My husbands chop was the best he's ever had. The desserts were divine. The vibe and the energy in the restaurant was awesome, I love the open kitchen concept. I can't put into words how absolutely amazing this place is. I really don't understand how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars. I am so excited that a restaurant of this caliber opened up in Collingswood. read more

My husband and I came here for our shared birthday dinner celebration and were extremely happy with our experience. We had their prix fixe menu which is served family style and was approximately 7 courses. Everything we had was so delicious & had such unique flavors but my favorites were the onion soup, crudo, and toast. It was the perfect amount of food and I left feeling full but not uncomfortable. The service was also great. Every server was polite, knowledgeable, and made sure our wine & water glasses weren't ever empty. It is a little on the noisier side and tables are very close together but it still managed to feel like an intimate dinner. We will definitely return for another special occasion! read more

I've been taken to this place twice. Each time I was under impressed. Way too much salt in their prep for the scallops which I ordered. I think this is the most overrated restaurant in the area read more

This is by far the best restaurant in South Jersey! The food is extraordinary, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is great. My only issue is that is impossible to make a reservation, they booked 60 days in advance and are not taking reservations for later than that. We've sat at the bar, so we got to see the hall kitchen and it was great. I wish it was easier to get a table, we've tried to book it on our way out but unfortunately with no luck. read more

Lived up to the hype!! The food, service and atmosphere was great. All 3 things are so important in the experience. Well worth the wait. We weren't disappointed. Hostess, waitress, servers were all just so nice and informative. read more

Another visit to this great place in Collingswood four of us had a great experience from being seated at our table to meeting our waiter Patrick. The wait staff did a great job again explaining the menu and helping us plan our meal for the night. Two appetizer were split between the four of us plus an order of bread which was outstanding. Split a pasta dish recommended by Patrick which was perfect. Then ordered the Crispy Pork Belly and the 40 oz. Poterhouse both prepared excellent, medium rare as recommended to us. Follow up by two amazing deserts that were out of this world. Maybe one of the best meals we every had. read more

If I could award more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely a magical dining experience. It took me over a year to get a reservation and it was worth it. Our party started the meal with wagyu carpaccio which was flavored with thai basil, crispy shallots and jalapenos. Spectacular! My husband and I shared a mussels app and I could just swim in the curry sauce. Our table shared 3 of the pasta dishes - bucatini, spaghetti, and agnolotti (delicate mini ravioli stuffed with celery root). All delicious and more than enough for sharing. We ordered all 3 side dishes - charred cauliflower (with curry and pomegranate), brussels sprouts (poblano ranch and pepitas), and crispy potatoes.  Couldn't eat them fast enough. For our main dishes we ordered the pork chops and the scallops. All amazing and more than enough to bring home. We thought we couldn't eat anymore but they brought out the blackberry gelato. I can't remember what everyone else had as I was too busy with my gelato. A perfect ending to a perfect meal. read more

Who doesn't love dining alfresco while enjoying fresh ingredients and your favorite wine (BYOB)while exciting the palate? Although reserving a table may be challenging, Hearthside will not disappoint. My husband and I shared everything as we always do. **Request Peter, he is amazing at explaining each flavor profile and is very attentive** Only negative: The bread making is down till equipment can be repaired, so we weren't able to order the bread and butter option. Small Plate: (perfect portions to share) The Grilled Octopus was charred to perfection. Best when all ingredients combined together for the perfect bite; the octopus, crispy rice crouton, blood orange and palapa (sauce)all on one fork. *My favorite* The Pork Belly with a crispy glazed coating that a butter knife could be used. (Think Chinese take out spare ribs at its maximal flavor) Medium Plate: (smaller than expected for two to share. However, it left room for third course) Agnolotti was fresh homemade pasta, smoked celery (taste like smoked bacon), creamy brown butter and almonds. This was my hubbies favorite!! Large Plate: (expected portion & sharable when ordering from each menu section) Day boat scallops had a caramelized char in a subtle pea purée. Yummy, but lackluster on flavor. Beef Flat Iron: Prepared "Pittsburgh medium" by request did not disappoint. Dessert: Blondie and strawberry rhubarb ricotta cheesecake tart. Our love of food will bring us coming back for more...till next time Hearthside read more

Amazing. I haven't ventured out to Collingswood before, but this is an incredible place to go for a nice dinner. It's BYOB so be sure to bring your own to really round out the meal. First, the service was incredible. Our waiter was attentive, would literally bend over backwards for us, and an incredible host. The off-menu prawns were delicious, tender, and complemented well with the sauce. The coffee-encrusted pork was delicious, and charred to perfection, and had a wood-fired, really hearty feel to it. This place is also really hard to get reservations at, but their outside patio is first come first serve - so there is some hope of eating here if you just walk by. read more
