I've been here twice and had a great experience both times! The pancakes are huge and very filling. I've tried many times over the last couple years to like this place. The crazy thing they have really good service but every single item I've tried on the menu is not good. My last straw today was ordering the chorizo tacos. They were absolutely disgusting, idk whose idea this was but it didn't work. The avocado toast and salmon toast are just ok but even then it's always made different... never consistently made the same way. So this was my first time visiting Hearth Cafe as I'm hoping to visit it more often when I'm nearby for physical therapy. I eat mostly plant based so I ordered the fried green tomato blt on sourdough and asked to sun avo for bacon knowing that it still wasn't completely vegan bc of the batter and kimchi Mayo. No worries. But when the server told me there would be a charge for the substitution I literally Lol! You know avocados cost less than bacon, right? He did try to remedy by asking his manager if he could no charge the substitution to which she so graciously did. It was a delicious sandwich served with a side of my choice, the greens (arugula, my fave!) and vinaigrette. All in all it was a good experience. Let me start by saying, the first time we went (two people), the food was good. We thought we had found our new spot. We had family come in to town and we couldn't wait to take them to Hearth's. It was going to be 10 of us. Mind we you, we aren't new to what a "large party" might experience at times. We went in on a Sunday morning, luckily they were not busy at all. We were in no rush, just there to enjoy each other's company. As we sit in the lobby, a nice young man (owner's scapegoat that was sent to relay their message) came out to give what seemed like a heads up to warn us that food may be slow and not come out at the same time since it was a small kitchen. We completely understood, appreciated the heads up and stated we were in no hurry. He continued to explain that the food would be slow due to the small kitchen and wouldn't come out at the same time. Again, we said no problem, really! We understand and are just out to enjoy our time. He continued to explain that a "large party of 8" overwhelmed the kitchen as recently as the day before. The conversation kept repeating itself. We were missing something... We asked, are you asking us to leave? His head dropped. He says, "yes, that is what was explained to me". We asked if he was kidding? We explained that more than 10 people are served at a time within the restaurant everyday just at different tables and we had no problem waiting. However, that did not matter. We were still asked to leave. We understood having a small kitchen, small staff, the wait time.. etc. We got it. It didn't matter. We were asked to leave. Needless to say, we will not be back. Avoid this place if you are a family bigger of more than 6 people because apparently 8 is too much as well. read more

Today I called to place an order and was told that I can not order over the phone and that I would have to order on-site. I drove for 20 minutes and arrived on-site only to be told that I can place an order but will have to eat inside. Orders can be picked up M-F only and not on the weekends. It would have been helpful to explain this in greater detail. With the location being as small as it is, it would be of great benefit to the business that a paying customer would like to take his/her food home instead of having to wait for an open table. Cute little neighborhood place. Went here after searching yelp and the service was great. I like supporting these types of places. My daughter had the bacon starter. The bacon is super thick (like pork belly) and really good. She also thoroughly enjoyed her pancakes. I had the avocado toast which was good but not my favorite. The barista also served a lemon wedge with my espresso. FAB! I ordered the smoked Rueben. It was, in my opinion, far from an ordinary rueben; it was the chefs interpretation and delicious.
