Very good sushi. Nice presentation. Friendly stuff. Little on a pricey side for the portions size.

Not bad. Our iPad was broken and food therefore took over 30 minutes to come out. Was not compensated or given a new iPad. I find here is always a hit or a miss.

It's been a while since I've been on Yelp, and it's good to be back! I can't wait to do more of these. Now for the review: This is my first time at this establishment, and walking in, left me with a good first expression. My friends and I were politely greeted by a server, and provided us a table to sit at. The seating was comfortable, and decor is nice and streamlined, and not too overy the top. I really liked how they got creative with the lighting, and the different hues of light used throughout the restaurant. It felt calming, and makes you want to sit down with your friends (and/or family), and enjoy a meal. I like how they make use of tablets to display instead of traditional paper ones. Good for the environment, and better for us because we could put in our orders, without waiting for the servers to take it for us. Also, they left the tablets at the table, so we could put in a new order any time during our meal. Technology ftw! The food was really good. My favourites were the shrimp tempura, egg sushi roll, and the bbq eel sushi roll. We also put an order of the Japanese seseme salad (which came in a very tiny bowl), and it was good. We went a little crazy ordering the sushi rolls (since it was a lunch buffet!). We got crunchy salmon, cucumber roll, California roll. We ordered multiples because they come on small plates. Some of my friends ordered chicken side dishes (and their reaction was well received). I didn't eat the chicken dishes, so I can't comment on that myself. The spicy Korean tofu was good, however, the spices used weren't Korean (my Korean friends confirmed). I put in an order for some shrimp dim sum (dumplings), I was excited because it was my first time to try out dumplings, however I realized it fell short of my expectations. It was just plain cooked shrimp wrapped in dough. We also got the sweet potato tempura, it was okay. If I had to choose between the shrimp and sweet potato tempura, it winner would definitely be the shrimp! We were so stuffed, and we still had food left over. However, there's always room for dessert! I put in an order for red bean and chocolate cream, as well as tiramisu, and mocha mousse cake. They tasted good, and I liked the texture of the tiramisu. Please keep in mind that the dishes are tiny! Cute, but if you want more you can always order more! If I wasn't so full from the sushi and other side dishes, I would've ordered a fancier dessert. Next time! :) The service was excellent. The servers were polite, and brought our first round of dishes faster than I expected. The fact that we didn't have to wait that long, is a plus in my books! They would come to our table time to time to keep up any empty dishes, and to refill our glasses. The price differs depending on what time and day you go on. Weekends are more expensive than going during the weekdays. The lunch buffet was $16.99 (all you can eat). This may be expensive to other lunch buffets, but justify the price for a couple of reasons: 1. It's all you can eat, and the food comes to you a la carte. No need to remove yourself from the table, and reduces the risk of bumping into someone with a plateful of food. 2. The use of technology makes it faster and easier to order whatever you want. The lunch buffet starts at 11AM to around 3:30PM (last call: 3:20PM). You can visit their website for more details. My friends and I went on a Wednesday at around 11:45AM. The restaurant wasn't packed at that time, and we were placed at a nice circular shaped booth. Since it wasn't packed, we stayed around for a while just chatting about about random things, and the servers didn't mind, even after we paid. They still came up to us to refill our glasses (with water). TIP: pay with cash and receive a 5% discount! FYI: they don't accept debit cards. Only cash and credit cards. Also, please keep in mind that you have to pay a "fine" for not finishing the food. Another way of saying that you have to pay extra for leftovers. We had 23 pieces of sushi left so my friend decided to take it home for her husband. She paid an extra $10 for it. Overall, this is a great place to eat done at, and spent some quality time with your loved ones. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was the best way to finish our midterm exams, and we may come again after finals, hopefully lol! For those of you who have finally reached the end of this massive review, thank you for your time, and I hope you'll enjoy it just as much as I did! :)

Salmon sashimi in the fun light up cup!

It makes me sad to downgrade my rating for this place because it's my go to sushi place. Unfortunately my most recent visit left my stomach empty and me less than satisfied with the food and service. The rolls and tempura were delicious. I will give them that. My issue was with any beef item I ordered. I get the garlic beef cubes all the time and they're always hot. Or at least appetizingly warm. This time, cold. Not even room temperature but cold. I flagged down an employee and she was confused and told me to reorder. I did and the next order was also cold. Maybe I'm wrong, but I like my meat hot. I also ordered steak teriyaki that came a little too rare for my liking. I don't mind if a little pink but the plate was filled with blood and sauce. When I flagged down the manager he said "order it well done next time". Are you kidding me? This isn't the Keg. It's a sushi place. I also didn't get my dumplings. I'm pretty disappointed because this used to be my go to spot.

Last night, we went to Heart Sushi for a couple of friend's birthday, to celebrate with AYCE sushi and they chose Heart Sushi! This place was really busy for a Wednesday night, but we had reservations and were seated immediately upon walking in the door. We arrived to our table, sat down and proceeded to order using the iPads. My favourite thing when having sushi is the salmon sashimi. I look forward to that every single time. We ordered a platter of several pieces, and they tasted fresh and delicious, but I seem to have gotten some bones stuck in my teeth, twice when eating the salmon sashimi and another salmon roll, and it wasn't a pleasant experience trying to get them out. Other than that everything else was delightful and we were all filled to capacity, then we ordered desert. The desert was delicious, I ordered two scoops of green tea ice cream and one scoop of strawberry. The others in my group ordered the tiramisu, raspberry mouse, and chocolate mouse cakes, vanilla ice cream and mango ice cream. All delicious. The servers were fast, quick efficient, but not very friendly or talkative, more like just order takers, placed our food on our table and off they went. I'm assuming this is just the style of the restaurant and because it's so busy that's how they were trained. Now, when we went to pay, they bring the bill to your table. They don't take debit/interac, only cash or credit cards. Luckily we had our visa with us, because usually we prefer to pay with our debit card. Just a fair heads up to everyone who goes. I will likely return with friends again, maybe for lunch because the prices are a bit cheaper during lunch hours.

Salmon lover set ($18) includes garden salad and miso soup!

Came here with friends on Victoria Day! I really liked this place for their food and quick service. We got seated and served really fast. We ordered on iPad and food came out fast too. We got sashimi set ($18) and salmon lover set ($18). The sashimi set includes steamed rice, garden salad and miso soup. Salmon lover set only includes garden salad and miso soup. The fish were nicely cut and they were decent size. The only thing I didn't like about this place was that after we finished eating they came over and kept asking if we wanted anything else and if we wanted the bill in a 15 time span.. I disliked that a lot because I felt rushed.. So I didn't end up ordering desserts.. Therefore, an overall of 3.5 stars..

    Chicken sushi... lol

They now serve raw chicken lol. I asked to speak with someone in management, but was instead offered a new dish. Despite me persistently asking to ask for a manager, the waiter annoying tried to avoid the question. Good thing I took a pic before I left, otherwise I'd have no proof. Other stuff was good, but let's make sure not everything is raw here.

However, when we travel, due to disruptions in sleeping and eating patterns, we are also very prone to hangriness! We are very self-aware when it comes to this, and when we see the first signs of hangriness in ourselves or each other, we stop what we are doing and find the closest place that doesn't appear too objectionable, and we get something to eat there. Wok Box was the lucky place on our most recent trip to London. People say when you are hungry, everything tastes good, but for me, when I'm hangry, I am much more critical, because I kind of resent eating at a place that would under normal circumstances not be one of my top choices. Anyway, I am happy to announce that despite the situation, I enjoyed my meal at Wok Box. So Wok Box is a chain, but there aren't any locations in the city I currently live in (Ottawa). It's similar to Thai Express. They serve Asian-inspired food, mostly noodles and rice dishes. You order, then they cook it up in the wok. What sets them apart from Thai Express is they also have wings and poutine (all with Asian themes, of course). They also sell soups and appetizers like potstickers/dumplings. My husband and I got a full order of the Singapore Cashew Noodle Box with beef ($12.99) to share. I do like that you can customize your noodles. Our choice usually comes with Hokkien noodles, but we opted to substitute for ribbon noodles (which is rice vermicelli noodles, like the ones usually used for Pad Thai). I also requested no bean sprouts. The noodle box was great. The beef was tender and lean. It came with broccoli, carrots, cabbage and onions. The sauce was a bit spicy and had good flavour. Temperature-wise the noodles were so hot. Like even as we got to the bottom of the box, the food was still piping hot. Half boxes are $8.99, full boxes $12.99 and Sumo-sized boxes are $16.99. Noodle choices are Chow Mein, Hokkien, Ribbon noodles and Udon. You can also substitute noodles for rice. Service was friendly and efficient. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

This restaurant is unique for its serving style - if you order individual seafood, you eat with your hands from plastic bags. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that we were able to keep ourselves relatively clean. We ordered a pound of mussels with garlic sauce, crawfish with lemon pepper sauce, and a fish teriyaki dish with seafood assortment. I loved the garlic sauce, as it gave the mussels a great kick. I wouldn't recommend the crawfish, as they don't have much meat. I felt like I was just nibbling the shells for the sauce. However, the fish teriyaki was a solid choice. Overall, it was a filling and tasty meal, and it came out to less than $20 per person. With so few customers in the restaurant, service was relatively prompt, but I would recommend more frequent water refills, as the sauces were quite salty. We had to personally wave over the waitress in order to get water. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Captain's Boil if you enjoy seafood like I do. Glad they opened up in London!
