Visited friends in Savannah and they recommended this tour. I am slightly claustrophobic so a hearse tour did not sound appealing to me, but it was great! They got rid of the top of the hearse so you sit high, as if hanging out the top of a limo. Lots of fresh air and space. Plus a canopy which was nice cause there was a light drizzle during our whole tour but we stayed dry. The tour is fun. Takes you all over Savannah, so it's a combo of site seeing, information on typical sites like monuments and the Garden of Good and Evil building as well as random houses that have haunted pasts. So it was my first time in Savannah, and my friend who lives there who has done this tour twice before told me we should do it. I love this kind of thing so we agreed. It was close to $90 and we booked online for a 7-8:15pm hearse tour. The online booking was fine, and the pickup experience was fine as well. The seats on the hearse we were on could be updated as they were unstable and loose and anytime the driver braked hard or turned fast you were moving. Our guide was a red head from New Jersey (only pointing this out so hopefully the business can work on his personal growth and improvement), he was nice but he really needs some improvement. First, the tour only lasted from 6:50-7:30 (we started 10 early), so we didnt even last the entire time we paid for (75 minutes). This was because he was driving fairly fast. He also just did not describe well what we were supposed to see, and sometimes he got the facts just completely wrong. For example, he said "they got in a fight and well he died and now he haunts the place," he literally said that Frances Sorrel improved surgery from 40-80% because he was innovative but failed to mention he was innovative because he practiced on his slaves. He said that children below the age of 16 can't stay at the Hamilton-Turner Inn (its children under 10 not 16). I felt like he was having a hard time multi-tasking driving and telling a good story, which I understand can be difficult but is also the whole experience. As someone who has never been to Savannah before, my friend had to walk me around the squares and downtown area AFTER the 40 minute hearse tour to tell me the history of the city. I would not book again, my local friend was embarrassed, and quite frankly I would never recommend this experience to anyone, even though I believe it was a tour guide issue because my friend had 2 good experiences prior with other guides. read more

Oh Luuuccccyyyyy~ aka Lucyfer, oh evil one. You were the BEST!!! You meet under the balcony of a house on the Oglethorpe Square. We were early and met another group and quickly realized there would be several hearse- because they seat 8 and people just kept coming! The first two hearses arrived and gathered their guests and departed dearly. The next two hearses rolled up a few minutes later and ours was one of them! We took our photos in front of the hearse and climbed in and we were off! Grim and gruesome stories told, my favorite nugget was that Savannah didn't move graves when deciding to build over grave sites. They are just asking for poltergeists! It's almost expected anytime there is construction in historic Savannah that you will find remains. One of the cemeteries had over 5000 souls and has lost real estate over the years and they only have 700 tombstones remaining in the area left. And there is a playground at the corner of the cemetery! That corner was part of the cemetery previously- as was a good block past where we were sitting. We got some great tips on haunted museums and haunted places where you can stay the night. I was amazed by how many ghost tour groups were out walking! Savannah has a busy tourist scene after dark! I loved the hearses- all retired hearses. Very cool to be rolling through historic Savannah in a chop top hearse hearing ghost stories. Highly recommend- extra points if you can fill the hearse with friends! read more

With the convenience of multiple schedule choices and pick up locations, this tour promised fun and delivered big time. The hearse only holds 8 passengers, so even fully loaded, we never felt crowded. Adorned by what could easily be the best mullet in all of Savannah, our driver "Spooky Sugar" had us all entertained by his knowledge of the town's haunts, with personal anecdotes thrown in for good measure, and ghost photos taken from past tour guests. Robin Graves was our tour guide. He was great, entertaining, comically cheesy, PG. we had our 11&8yr old with us & it was great for them. They weren't scared. The stories were told in a way that they were comfortable with. Boys favorite story was Billy, the boy who fell off the roof & took a spike to the dome. It was a unique experience, our first time is a hurst, hopefully don't ride in one again soon. We've done several haunted tours, this was our first riding one. The only one we captured no orbs in our photos. We would not do it again, but highly suggest it to anyone who hasn't. Worth doing one time. read more

With a max of 8 people, it's easy to hear the tour guide and have a more personable experience. Ghost tour that you can take in a repurposed hearse. The tour took about 90 minutes and we opted for a 10pm ride on a Sunday. You can make the reservation online and pay via credit card, though you need to bring cash for the tip. Albert was our driver/tour guide. While he was nice, there were a couple of issues with the tour that unfortunately came up (some within his control, some outside of it). - We arrived at 9:40 at our designated meeting spot, when we were told to be there around 9:45pm. My friend needed to wait for her pizza, but when I relayed that information to him, he wanted to leave her behind and come back. That didn't make any sense because he said that the other people were 10-15 minutes away and so he wanted to start the tour on time, but it would've been more time wasted if we had left and came back vs waiting an extra minute for my friend to get her pizza. - The tour was disorganized and there wasn't any real structure to the path. We crossed the same streets multiple times and didn't hear stories that were either informative or scary. - There were a few off-color jokes, including one being made about a white van holding Gaby Petito. - We stopped at a bar in the middle of the tour to get drinks, but that just seemed to be a random stop that wasn't broadcasted beforehand. - There were audio issues where the microphone kept cutting in and out so it was difficult to hear. - The chairs were exceedingly wobbly. Also the two in the front faces outward rather than forward, so something to note if you're picking seats. read more

This was a hilariously fun tour we did on Halloween Eve. My friend and I had booked the tour months ago. We were picked up at the Holiday Inn Express on Bay Street. No issues finding the location. We drove around for a while and we had a hoot of a time. All of a sudden tour driver, who called himself peg leg by the way, backed into a dark parking lot and didn't say a word. We all started freaking out and had no idea what was going on. He come out of the building, after unlocking it and told us all to get out of the hearse. We walked into this dark room with a fake body hanging from the ceiling and he told us to look at a neuse in the corner and turned the lights out and scared the daylights out of us! It was hilarious. Then we went into the "oddity museum". We had gotten drinks and brought them with us. No issues. read more

We saw a flyer for this in our hotel. It sounded funny. It was hilarious. It is literally a hearse with the top cut off and turned into a tiny tshtick. There are chairs that bounce on a makeshift platform. Our driver/ guide was funny. He stopped at all the houses that murders happened and are supposed to be haunted. It is beyond cheesy. Definitely not worth the money. It was by far the cheapest ghost tour and I came to find out why. It was extremely boring, nothing scary at all, the tour guide just kept saying, "arrrr", like a pirate and laughing. He wasn't very knowledgeable about anything except for Forest Gump movie locations. I love Forest as much as the next guy but when I am on a ghost tour, I want to be scared, at the very least be pointed in the right direction. The tour being given in a hearse is s clever gimmick that makes you wanna book it. I'm giving it two stars because it got me. If you are going with small children that laugh at anything. This is for them. If you want to go on a tour and get a molecule of a spook, don't book this company. Spend the thirty or so and go with someone else. This is our first trip to Savannah, otherwise known as the most haunted city in the United States. So naturally I had to do a ghost tour. I found out about this one from Pinterest. They have 3 different times you can choose from. I liked the idea of being in a hearse it's more macabre. There is 8 seats, so if you have a small group you will be making friends :) You also have the option of a private tour. Our tour guide was "Black Betty" She was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the history & ghost stories from long ago. The tour was about an hour. I thought I was told when I booked 75 min but I could be wrong. The only thing/ tip I would say you should know after your tour starts is that the historic downtown Savannah as a open container & your tour guide will graciously stop at the bar or a liquor store ( we did a liquor store ) Sounds great right ?!? We thought so too, but those 10 minutes getting out of the hearse & getting your drinks takes away from your actual tour. So I would recommend bringing your drink with you or waiting the hour out. I would do this tour again but I will not be stopping for any alcohol! read more
