This is a good way to get the lay of the land in downtown Savannah. The drivers were Knowledgeable and told lots of stories along the way. Some were a bit suspect like I really don't think that Ford put Spanish moss in his cars and had people "itching for a Ford." We googled it, but we might be wrong.... There were some stops that were right across from each other which was confusingOur driver told us about Mrs. Wilke's restaurant and helped us get there. Delicious food! It runs from 9 AM to 5 PM and you just have to be on the trolley by 5 PM and they'll take you to the stopyou want to end up at.

We hopped on and off this trolly all day today. Great way to see all the historical spots and hear the stories behind the history. We loved our first driver, Cash!!!

Old Town Trolley is an excellent way to experience the touristy core of Savannah without renting a car. We purchased a 2-day pass that allowed us to hop on and off each day until 5 PM, after which we used Uber/Lyft to get around. I recommend hopping on and off, as each driver has their own personality, and some are definitely more engaged and interesting than others. Even though some of the trolleys were a bit crowded, there was never too much of a wait until another came along. The route map allowed us to grab lunch/coffee along the way and check out some attractions while getting a historical overview of Savannah, and getting accustomed to the city layout. The only negative experience was at the Old Town Trolley welcome center where one of the sales guys was disappointed we bought our tickets in advance via the AAA website, touting it's the best price to purchase through them, when in fact it was more expensive to purchase on site. He proceeded to then hand us 2 brochures, one of which had an outdated route map, which made things confusing on our first day of using the trolley. Overall, using Old Town Trolley was a great way to get around Savannah and doing the whole tourist thing without having to rent a car, and I would recommend them to others.

We took the Old Town Trolley Tour 8 years ago. We liked it so much that we decided to take it again. We had a fantastic time from 11AM to 5:30PM. We had three different drivers on 10/10/25. Ellis was our favorite as he provided us with a comprehensive, congenial history of the city as we traveled to 16 stops in 90+ minutes. He also recommended an excellent place for lunch, which we enjoyed. We also ate dinner there. We had perfect weather - sunny and cloudy, and no rain. It was cool as we rode from stop to stop. We went to every stop, and when it started over again, we got off at stop 10 to eat and shop. We walked to stop 11 and got on again. This time we got off at the Riverwalk. We shopped, and got back on, riding to stop 9 where our car was parked at the visitor center. There are two tours: 75 minute historical tour in an enclosed white bus and a 90 minute tour in an open air yellow bus with individual & different commentary by the driver you have. We have not tried the first one. We like being able to get on and off, and listening to different drivers' perspectives. The staff at each of the visitor centers housing the tour are friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us coupons with our map. Unfortunately we forgot to use them when we visited and shopped at five of the locations! Maybe you'll be more aware and remember to use them after your tour!

Kind of expensive bus ride around a pretty walkable city. They were recently purchased a few months ago and the website is not up-to-date with new ticket sales and location information. We missed the trolley luckily the driver called me, but he couldn't get me a shuttle in time. After speaking with two other sales representatives, Josh was able to help me! Thankfully, we didn't waste nearly $100 for one and a half hour bus ride around the city and we were able to hop on another bus but kind of lost its cluster so we got off and went to one of the stops and got something to eat after a long afternoon. The bus driver was really nice and friendly And tried to make it fun but my bubble was deflated. They have a nice ticket building with a QR code to purchase tickets, but be careful all of the buses don't go to that building for pick up. Who would know this? I would not do this again

At the last minute, we scheduled Sistah Patt's Tour, and honestly this is by far the BEST ONE, and we did several here and in Charleston, while visiting from California. Sistah Patt is incredible and inspirational, fact-telling, and is currently in projects in Savannah, bringing proper recognition and truth-telling. I wish I had done a little research on her, as I did after leaving her tour...oh my, I probably would have asked so many more questions, I had no idea of the advocate she is. Let me leave you with this: Who in Savannah can change a Squares name, from Confederate Vice President (Calhoun), to Taylor Square, to honor Susie King Taylor, born into slavery, who became the 1st Black nurse to serve in the Civil War and later open a school for African Americans in Savannah? YES, Patt Gunn Can, and it happened only 2 years ago! This is the Tour you will want to do. This is the "Remarkable Woman" you will want to share/ask/listen to.

While…read morevisiting the area, I parked near their operation in what appeared to be a normal, public spot. There was zero clear signage indicating that parking was prohibited or that vehicles would be towed. No warning signs, no visible notices--nothing that would reasonably alert a driver. Within a very short time, my car was gone. I later learned it had been towed, conveniently and quickly, by a towing company that seems to patrol this area aggressively. The whole situation felt like a setup designed to trap unsuspecting visitors. It's hard not to believe there is some level of coordination when towing happens so fast in an area with no posted restrictions. The towing fees were outrageous, and the process to retrieve my car added insult to injury. What should have been a pleasant Savannah experience turned into a costly and stressful ordeal. Tourists beware: if you're anywhere near Savannah Carriage Tours, be extremely cautious about where you park--even if it looks legitimate. This experience seriously soured my visit, and I would not recommend supporting a business operating in an area where situations like this are allowed to happen.

With that being said, upon researching the area, Dan's tour came up as almost unanimously the best thing to do in Savannah. To say we learnt a lot and had a great time would be an understatement, Dan gave us a broad overview of many elements of Savannah's rich and diverse history. We were visiting from Florida, so we knew it would be hot, but as it was a very shaded route with plenty of stops it was not an issue. As Dan advices on the website, pack water, and sunscreen. The walk itself is very dog friendly and at a leisurely pace suited to all levels of fitness. Finding dog friendly activities is always high on our list, and plus the wealth of knowledge and passion Dan has it was a no brainer! Due to the heat, some other guests had to reschedule their time, so we were lucky enough to have a private tour, which probably would be worth an additional star on its own! Dan as a host was witty, engaging and brought Savannah to life. We have already recommended Savannah Dan to multiple people and will continue to moving forward.
