We weren't actually able to attend the "Bloody Murder Tour" we originally booked, so I can't review that specific experience. However, I can share what happened and our overall experience with the company. When I initially booked, I received an email instructing us to meet at Monterey Square. Two days before the tour, I received another email stating the meeting location had changed to The Original Pinkie Masters. We arrived early at that location as instructed, but no one was there. After waiting several minutes, we called the number provided and were told, "We cancelled that tour last week." When I told my fiancé she immediately started crying because this was the main thing she was looking forward too. I'm not sure how the tour could have been cancelled the previous week when I received a confirmation email two days prior, and I had not received any cancellation notice or reimbursement. If we hadn't arrived early and called, we likely would have assumed the tour left without us and missed it entirely. To their credit, the person on the phone was apologetic, refunded us, and directed us to another tour meeting location (which happened to be about a 10-minute walk literally right outside the airbnb we just left...). We joined that group instead and were not charged. As for the tour we ended up on, it was decent but had some noticeable issues. The guide was friendly and engaging, and we did learn some interesting information. However, the pacing and structure felt disorganized. There were several bars scheduled very close together and in one case, we had just ordered a drink and were moving to the next stop within a couple of minutes. On a bar tour, there's some natural pressure to order at each location, and the spacing made it feel rushed and excessive. One of the stops didn't seem to have much of a story attached and was just kind of thrown in there and didn't feel cohesive with the rest of the tour. At one square, the guide spoke next to a loud fountain, which made it difficult to hear most of the story. At another stop, we left while a couple was still inside ordering drinks, which felt awkward and disorganized. Some locations were very crowded, making it difficult to get drinks quickly before moving on so you would've thought we would've have them extra time. The final stop extended well beyond the scheduled time with the tour running about an hour and fifteen minutes over. The guide was telling a story outside a loud karaoke bar, making it hard to hear. By that point, many of us were ready to wrap up although she kept insisting to have a drink with her inside. Sometimes it felt like the point of the tour was to get us to just spend money at the bars instead of giving us a cohesive memorable experience if you can even remember anything after drinking at about 6 different places in 2 hours. Overall, the guide was personable and had some great humor, and the group dynamic was enjoyable. We didn't leave completely disappointed, but the logistical issues and lack of cohesion made it unlikely that we would book with this company again read more

I came to Savannah right before I moved here just to get the lay of the land. While I was here I did the "True Crime & Wine Cocktail Tour" We met up at the Tandem Coffee and Spirits. I figured we would just stand outside and start the tour.....little did I know it started there! We went inside and the tour guide introduced us AND we got our first cocktail at the restaurant AND the first story. The best part is the drink was names after our first story. After that I was HOOKED!!!! I am a huge True Crime junkie and I was afraid this tour was going to be cheese and boring but I was wrong! The tour guide was so much fun! She even showed us some behind the scene including some ghost that still hang around. I highly recommend this tour even if you are just visiting but even if you live here!!! read more

True crime pub crawl was a disaster. Conner is a narcissist. Talked about how much he hated the federal government and his views on abortion but not as much focused on true crime. What an unprofessional fool. Tried to get away from him at the last pub and he pulled up a chair and continued about his personal beliefs. Nothing about true crime at all at that point. Worst experience ever. Let me edit this since he and this company owner have lied about me under other reviews. They claim I was just so drunk and out of control the whole tour. If so why did he grab a beer and pull up a chair at the last pub and sit at my table? They claim he had a beer because he was done with the pub crawl. Why would you then sit with someone if they were acting so terribly if your done with your job? Also when I said I was going to write a bad review he spoke for the other couple and said they will write a good one. She was actually crying because of his comments. I have all his comments on tape. And text to people throughout the tour complaining about his political beliefs through the tour and couldn't wait to be done with it. Why would he sit with someone and carry on about his personal beliefs if he thought I was just so drunk the whole time? It literally doesn't even make sense. We came in on one side of the bar and I told my husband we were going to sit on the far side and get away from him. So he was done with the tour, grabbed a drink and followed us to our table to continue carrying on. Why would you continue on this topic if you knew you were upsetting someone? He just escalated it. Must not be used to a woman talking back. Also the owner accused me of changing emails to write more reviews. That is again another lie and I pointed that out to TripAdvisor as they can obviously see I use the same email and account when I review. My friends and I went on the True Crime and Wine tour in March when we took a trip to Savannah. Megan was our guide and she is amazing! She's very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we had about the tour. We learned a lot about crime over the years in Savannah and got to see some cool places while we were at it! The bars we stopped at were also really great and we had just enough time at every one to pause for a breather or bathroom break and drinks. It's a plus that in Savannah you're allowed to bring your drinks with you so we weren't rushed at all. My family and I attended the True Crime and Wine tour this evening, led by our awesome, knowledgeable, and personable guide, Emily. She knows her stuff, and you can tell that she loves what she's doing. The tour was well worth the money, especially with a free drink, and we loved all of the stories, sights, and the personal touch. Our guide even answered questions unrelated to the tour if we had them--- including information about the city and local recommendations. She is very cool. Emily killed it!! (See what I did there? Someone tell me I'm funny). We stopped at three bars along the way, and ended at a fourth bar. We went on the Faidy Cat Walking Ghost Tour by Mad Cat Tours in the most haunted city in America AT NIGHT! The only scary things we saw were some drunk people stumbling through traffic because Savannah allows you to drink alcohol on the streets. The tour was very informative but not very scary. Our tour guide was okay. She seemed nervous. Overall, the night out amongst the local was fun and the city was alive with energy. My family decided to take a trip down to Savannah for New Years and we were looking for something fun to do! We met a waiter whose sister worked as a tour guide and suggested mad cat tours. We participated in the Bad Kitty Haunted Bar Crawl and had Lori as our tour guide. She was so knowledgeable and fun, she's a very animated storyteller who knows how to keep a group engaged. Every bar we went to was a great time, Lori had great drink recommendations, and let us all take our time in getting drinks and enjoying the atmosphere at each bar. One bar on the crawl is not open to the general public, it is only open to a few tour companies, and we had a very enjoyable experience being the only group inside. For a group of people that aren't particularly in love with history and starting early in the morning we came out of this tour wanting more!! We had tour guide Kerry, and wouldn't want to see Savannah any other way! He made the tour so exciting and engaging and was so enthusiastic about the history of Savannah! He was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions with ease and thorough knowledge. He made a tour group that wasn't super into history really engaged and thoroughly enjoyed our morning with him. This tour is a must with Kerry for anyone who doesn't love history because he makes it come to life! He doesn't focus on mundane facts and dates. He makes you feel like you were a member of the Savannah community throughout the tour. We all think he should be a high school history teacher because we felt we learned more from him in the two hours we were with him than from any textbook!
