I called Healthy Trees for trimming of three mature trees after a recommendation from my gardening group and am extremely happy with the work they did. They trimmed and cleaned-up 3 large, mature trees (Spruce, Cedar, Sycamore) around our property and all 3 are looking much better. I have to admit, I was really anxious about getting our trees trimmed after reading several horror stories online about tree-trimming gone wrong, and a terrible experience we had last year with a non-arborist landscaping firm that wrecked two of our honey locusts so badly that we had to remove them. All my fears evaporated when we met with Ronald (a certified arborist) to get a free quote. He was super-friendly, took the time to explain what the work would entail and what we needed to have done, and gave us a quick and reasonable quote. I was able to schedule within 2 weeks, and the work was just completed today. The trimming itself was completed quickly, efficiently, and the cleanup was top notch. The improvement to the tree canopy around the property is a noticeable and they even agreed to leave the woodchips behind for mulch! We did have a minor scheduling issue, but it was quickly and fairly resolved and I'm so grateful to Healthy Trees for all the work they did. I have recommended them to my parents and sister-in-law and look forward to working with them again in the future! Called this company for an estimate. I was told the crew was working in my area and they could take down a small tree. I was also told I could get an estimate over the phone if I could send them some photos of the tree. These trees are all over South Reno and they are a problem dropping tiny fruit everywhere that are not healthy for dogs to eat. Mine has to go since I have a young dog. I took photos and sent them over for the estimate. I has quoted close to a grand and another hundred to grind the stump. But if I had it done that day while crew was in the area I would get a 15% discount. I had two other quotes that were less than half this price. One was $450 and one was $550 and that included the grinding of the stump. Now I understand it may be hard judging from the two photos I send but an estimate should only be given out if accurate. If I would have jumped at the offer while the crew was in the area, I would have paid double. This is a Bradford Pear tree and it has thin branches and a base that is no that big. My husband wanted to take it down but it is close to the neighbors home, so not wise. I will say that this company did get back to me in a day or so and that was good. But by that time, I already had another estimate. Thanks for coming out but please make sure you are giving an accurate estimate. read more

The large maple in our front yard was severely hacked by the crews who cut around the power lines. Large limbs had snapped in the last windstorm and were hanging high. I discovered Healthy Trees quit early in the year (Feb, 2020) when my Canadian Maples developed cottony maple scale. Their arborist pressure washed the trees as high as possible and sprayed oil to suffocate the scale. I added systemic fertilizer and the scale slowly disappeared. Today, the trees are healthy and vibrant. More recently a strong windstorm tore a large branch high up in one of my Ash trees and left it hanging by its skin. It was only natural for me to, again, reach out to Healthy Trees for assistance. At the initial assessment I was told they were booking for late fall. I needed help much sooner and called and spoke with Miriam, the owner. Much to my relief, she was able to find an opening on their calendar within a week. I have two other ash trees and decided to have all three thinned--something that had not been done in over a decade. The crew was amazing! In addition to removing the damaged limb, they spent several hours thinning the trees with their rope systems keeping them safe and did an outstanding job! I sensed a respect for the trees as living organisms which really impressed me even more. They cleaned up the debris and put all of it through the chipper. When they left, my yard was immaculate! I also learned that they are constantly training and keeping up on safety protocols as well as new ideas on "pruning with a purpose". The four tree technicians arrived at my house on time, were following COVID regulations, they were gregarious, professional, all around nice gentlemen and very hard wrokers. They removed a large tree along with the stump, sage brush in an area where I wanted a garden, and pruned another large pinion pine. The clean up of my property was excellent. We needed an emergency tree removal done and the owner squeezed us in that week, even though typically they book out weeks in advance. Not only did the crew remove the tree and clean up the yard beautifully, but the owner called after to follow up and ask if our needs were met. We really appreciated that!! Not so sure about another review that said "Prompt"! They came out in March to give me an estimate for removing a tree and grinding out some stumps. They scheduled me 2 months out, I waited with baited breath looking forward to the removals. I called the day before they were scheduled to do the job to confirm since I hadn't heard from them but no answer. I got a call the morning they were supposed to do the job and he wanted to reschedule me another 2 months out. What business does that? A poorly managed one I think. It sounded like somebody else's money was better than mine. I'm furious, NO recommend for this company! read more

Totally mutilated our two (once amazing) pine trees that were the best thing about our property. We are soooooo upset! Be careful....it is an action that cannot be undone. Not like a bad water heater installation or a bad paver job. It's forever!!!!! Think hard about who you chose and monitor their work. This is the saddest day I have had in years!! read more
