Fyi Alejandro deserve 5-Stars…read more Today I visited Rose Hills Cemetery to visit my loved ones, including my Aunt, Renee Antwine. When I arrived at her gravesite, I was saddened to find that her marker was dirty and covered with dirt and grass. I asked one of the Rose Hills employees for assistance. He told me that someone had already been called to help, but after waiting 15-20 minutes, no one came. Because I didn't feel that he was being truthful, I took a picture of the truck as it drove away. A short time later, Alejandro came over and kindly asked if we needed assistance. Ironically, he was in the same truck that had previously been there. Despite the extreme heat, Alejandro took the time to help us with kindness, professionalism, and compassion. While it was disappointing that the first employee was unwilling to assist us, I want to publicly recognize and thank Alejandro for his outstanding customer service. Employees like him make a lasting difference. Job well done, Alejandro! Lastly, Happy Heavenly Birthday to Destiny Williams, Kim Branch, and my beloved Aunt Renee Antwine on this July 27th. Though you are no longer with us, you are loved, deeply missed, and will never be forgotten. Your memories will live in our hearts forever. I must add Jonathan Lopez contacted me right away. His commitment to providing excellent customer service is appreciated. Thank you again for your acknowledgement & beautiful flowers

The first time I called this place, marina the owner was super short with me on the phone. She then started yelling at me to "communicate with her" because I didnt tell her that my mom can't be there initially. She had absolutely no compassion or empathy and is just taking this opportunity to rob people of their money given the current circumstances. We still scheduled an appointment with her at 10:30 am. She asked me many times on the phone to make sure I'll be there on time because she will be coming early just for me. Well I get there at 10:30 end the building is closed. I call and she says sorry I'm with another appointment, I'll be there in 15 minutes so I wait. THEN she calls on her way and starts talking to me about some cause of death paperwork that sent sent me and I was extremely confused. I then realized that she was talking about another dad and must have called me on accident. When she arrived, she just sat behind her desk and highlighted prices for us and answered her phone to talk to her husband, mom, vendor, another customer and more. She maybe spent 5 minutes actually giving her attention and the rest was spent on her phone. Needless to say we walked out because we did NOT Get a good feeling from her. Everything was laid out beautifully, and the staff specifically coordinated and directed everyone very expertly and intentionally to help us feel like we were part of the process and also honoring the deceased according to tradition. No AV hiccups and the ceremony was decorated very tastefully. When it came to transitioning to the burial site the staff was very discrete and efficient. They really are able to balance the efficiency aspect as well as the professional and attention to detail and the venue is very nice. Highly recommend.

We sat in a meeting with John Wong, arrangement counselor, and he reviewed with us and our agent what was had purchased at that time. They answered all our questions. Lucky for us that the changes we made, we did not have to pay extra for. We appreciated that both the agent and John spoke in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese so my family and I were able to understand what was asked of them and what needed to be prepared. Saturdays are extra $$ if funeral would be held that day but weekdays are no additional charge. They let us know where we could ask the guests to deliver the flowers and where to meet. They provided us with a map on where to meet for the viewing and where we go to have him buried. We had to come back several times because there were several clothing articles we needed to drop off to be put in the casket. During the day of the funeral, we were surprised to see our agent there and our agent and the helpful staff guided us through the funeral process for our grandfather. They provided the fruits and the bowls we needed for prayers, and the standing flower sprays that were ordered with the guests and family were arranged in the room for us. The staff were patient with us while we were all grieving. They gave us several small burning bins so we can burn money for our grandfather. I see other funerals there and the signs are posted on which room is for which loved one. I highly recommend Rose Hills if you want to bury your loved one here. The only thing I don't like is that even though you have a map, it's easy to get lost up on those hills: they need better and more signs to direct us to the different areas and where the exits are.

I've always liked visiting Mountain View because how beautiful it is especially being so close to the mountains I think Mountain View represents the community ideally Elizabeth helped me last month after my mother passed away. She was professional, kind, caring, and followed up on every detail. I can't see enough about how professionally she was and at the same time how much concern she had for our well-being. She also has great knowledge of the cemetery and I enjoyed our conversations. during one of my visits last month I had problems located my grandparents burial site and I had several maintenance people take time to offer to help me find their gravesite. Everyone who works here, cares about the cemetery and seems to take pride in maintaining it. Mountain View has a small town feel about it, unlike some of the larger corporate cemeteries in Southern California. I cannot recommend it enough.

Unfortunately, this recent experience has shown me that they have not. These people treat the belongings of our loved ones as if they were trash. Why not leave a note? Why not show a little compassion? Why be so insensitive when families are already grieving? It is heartbreaking that while we are mourning, they make an already painful situation even worse. It is deeply disappointing to witness such a lack of empathy and consideration in a place that should offer dignity, respect, and peace. Loma Vista could be the perfect place for our loved ones to rest, but experiences like this undermine that sense of trust and care. Additionally, there has been a noticeable decline in routine maintenance. Although pickup days are scheduled, there have been multiple occasions when items were not collected as indicated, leaving families to address the situation themselves. If you are considering this location, I encourage you to evaluate your options carefully. During difficult times, families deserve compassion, communication, and respect--not added stress, frustration, and disappointment.
