Sonia was the funeral director who helped my family through one of the most difficult times in our lives following the passing of my mother. From the very beginning, Sonia was compassionate, professional, and incredibly easy to work with. There was an error on my mother's death certificate from the hospital, and Sonia went above and beyond to help us get it corrected and ensure everything was handled properly. She gave my family and me the time and space we needed to grieve while she took care of all the details surrounding the services. Throughout the entire process, Sonia communicated clearly, kept us informed, and made sure everything was handled with care and professionalism. Her compassion and dedication truly made a difficult experience a little easier for our family. I would highly recommend Sonia to anyone in need of funeral services. We are extremely grateful for everything she did for our family during such a difficult time. read more

We truly chose the right team and funeral home for my dad. Even though Sonia was busy, she still made time for us and guided us through every step of the process for my dad's final farewell. She was there to help us all the way until we received my dad's death certificates, and we are truly grateful for her support during such a difficult time. The funeral home is also very affordable compared to other places. They have multiple viewing chapels, and we chose the Rosemead St. Joseph Chapel. It was spacious, clean, and a beautiful place for us to gather, pay our respects, and say our final goodbyes. A big thank-you to Sonia and the Chavez Team for coordinating everything with the church we chose and the cemetery where my dad would be laid to rest. Even the flower shop Sonia recommended was very helpful and affordable. We truly appreciated all the assistance and care they provided throughout the process. We also decided to add 15 doves to be released during my dad's final farewell. It was such a beautiful and peaceful moment that brought comfort to our grieving hearts. It made saying goodbye to my dad even more meaningful and gave us a sense of peace during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Losing someone you love is never easy, but having a compassionate and supportive team to guide you through the process makes such a difference. **To Sonia and the entire Chavez Team, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.** Thank you for your kindness, patience, and dedication, and for helping us make my dad's funeral and interment so special, peaceful, and meaningful. You helped us give my dad the beautiful final farewell he deserved, and that is something our family will always be grateful for. Highly recommended to families looking for a caring, accommodating, and affordable funeral service during a difficult time. read more

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sonia truly is the best in her game. from the point of the first conversation to the point that we laid my mom to rest, the entire process was very smooth. any request made, she was sure to fulfill in her ability, whatever way it was, but she always tried to find a way to fit the need of our request. Her and her staff did a wonderful job and took care of my mom. The embalming looked amazing. It truly did look like my mom. Her communication skills were five star. Very responsive always answered the phone or responded by text. If she didn't answer, I would likely get a call within 30 minutes. Very accommodating. At one point I had to deliver my mom's clothing and I live two hours away. I met her at 10 PM to deliver my mom's clothing for the funeral. She accommodated. Not many businesses will. She goes above and beyond and during these time of need. the less you have in mind, the better. She took care of everything and never did I have questions about her professionalism or ability to care for my mom's body and event. One recommendation would be to try to get the garden in Rosemead. We held her service outdoors and the service was beautiful. It is exactly how my mom would've wanted it. Thank you to the team for making my mom's service as beautiful as it could've been . I could've not asked for a better experience for my mom. read more

Best services one can ask for. From answering all our questions to giving us peace of mind. Under the stress one goes through and heart break, this organization offered compassion, empathy and professionalism through it all. Thanks to them we were able to obtain a Catholic mass & funeral services in our back yard. Our concern was also to get our mom's cremation/Urn within a two week time frame. Chavez Funeral &Cremation delivered reliability, assertiveness & expedited our request. A reputable foundation nonetheless. Under the circumstances where the last thing you need is more task to tackle, Chavez Funeral& cremations took a huge weight of our hands. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Especially to Sonia. Excellent, well done. Cons: Some reviews say that This organization doesn't get back in time. I totally can understand the frustration(under the circumstances) however a simple call and text to, friendly remind Sonia or her staff will solve that miscommunication. Any organization can get backed up or busy but I can assure you it's an easy fix. Atleast it worked for me. Best. read more

Where do I begin. My brother's service was last week and it was as beautiful as a funeral can be. First of all, I need to thank Sonia from the bottom of my heart , for her empathy, her responsiveness, for her assistance in things I never thought I would ever had to do (sizing for my brothers clothes as he had lost weight) I type this with tears in my eyes, thank you.... Sonia helped me and my nephews through every step. She was straightforward and transparent with the prices, the prices are very fair and reasonable. I never felt taken advantage of in our time of need and despair. I am very thankful to have found Sonia. Jorge was also very kind and professional and I thank him for his kindness but also his command presence - we asked him for signage during the service ( no photos or video) and right away he helped us out and assured us he would be around and make sure everyone was respectful of our wishes. They also had another lady there with short hair she was also very kind and professional. The chapel In Rosemead was beautiful , peaceful and spacious. We were able to have a catholic mass for my brother. Everything felt so private and serene. We didn't have to worry about a thing and anything we did have to worry about Sonia made sure she let us know in advance. Chavez funeral took care of everything. My brother had a beautiful service and they treated us all with so much dignity and respect. Sonia, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Above all thank you for helping us give my brother a beautiful home going . God bless you. read more

My father passed away very unexpectedly and so we had to scramble to find a funeral home to take care of his body and to plan a funeral. It was our first time planning anything funeral related but Sonia was very involved and helped us throughout the entire process and was very willing to answer any questions we had. They have the best prices in the area for a full funeral service package. They were able to pick up my dad very promptly after we signed off on it. They embalmed my dad and it honestly felt like he looked better than he did before when he was alive. I highly recommend this funeral home to anyone who is looking for a funeral director who treats your family and loved one like their own family. It was very apparent that they were experts in this industry when then helped me plan every single aspect of the funeral service and graveside service and transportation and other logistics and didn't miss or leave out a single detail. I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family in the future. read more

We unfortunately had the heartbreaking news that our brother had passed and with that comes the grueling process of looking for funeral homes. When I called this place for information Sonia gave me all the details necessary and answered all my questions with such patience and empathy. We ultimately chose this place and I am so glad we did. My sister handled most of the process with the funeral home and she always spoke highly of Sonia. Then the dreaded day came but coming to their Rosemead location we were welcomed with peace and serenity. Sonia and Jorge handled everything so well and were there every step of the way. I called Sonia and told her I was interested in Chavez funeral services. She told me that she will call me back confirming our meeting at my house; she had to coordinate with another person in their business. Two weeks went by and she never called or texted as promised. I the called the same business number again. A man (Luis) responded. I explained the situation to him. He promised that he would contact Sonia and let her know; that the they would call me.....almost two more weeks and nothing. I assumed that they may be having some business or pressing issue, so I decided to drive the more than 5 miles to the address listed in their web site, on Clark ave in bellflower. The business had no identification outside or any indication that they were operating out of the place. It was closed and had metal security curtains all over......needless to to say, the whole thing does not give me as a potential customer a good or fair impression read more

I was in a bind today to find a keepsake to put my father's ashes in to give to my stepmother. I could not find anywhere local to me to where I could purchase something. I happened to call Sonia at Chavez funeral and cremations, and she told me she did not know anywhere local to purchase this item. Almost immediately after I hung up the phone, she called me back and asked if the number I called from was my cell phone. She then sent me a couple of photos of some necklaces to hold my father's ashes. They were beautiful. I asked her where they were located, and she gave me the address. 10 minutes later I arrived, she showed me a few things to choose from, and I found a beautiful heart shaped pendant with a chain. I told her I had no cash with me, but I could pay her with a card. She then told me to not worry about it, and that they had had them a long time, so it was not a problem for her to give them to me. I can't believe her generosity! So amazing! She was super friendly, and has an amazingly sincere smile! Thank you so much, Sonia!! Your compassion and generosity will not go unnoticed! read more

They were an hour late picking up my moms body at 730 in the morning. The guys who picked her up were rough and seemed to struggle to pick up an 80lb little old lady. Cancer had made her lose so much weight and even I could move her around better than they did. It took a long time for my moms cremation to actually happen. 2 weeks and 2 days to be exact and there wasn't much communication until I started asking WTF because i hadn't heard anything and wanted to know when the cremation would happen. It was making me sick to think about her laying in some freezer somewhere. It's funny when I called the second time that they "finally" got the paperwork signed off by the state so they could schedule her cremation. The day we were supposed to pick up her remains they text and ask if we could come an hour later.... just as we were getting ready to leave the house. I said no because me and my siblings had all arranged time off work to pick her up together and settled on 30 minutes later than originally planned. They were still packing up the urns when we got there. I asked multiple times about the death certs and always got the same answer" I'll follow up With the health department and NEVER heard back. She said they would send them to her and I could pick them up, but later I got 3 copies in the mail from the health department. I guess I should have expected all this when she couldn't find any of the paperwork I emailed her and had to resend it all when I was there paying for her cremation. read more
