My 96 year old grandmother recently passed away, my family chose Paramount Mortuary to conduct her services because it was affordable. Everything went smooth as far as the services, but when it came time to pick up the death certificate it was a nightmare. My grandfather went to pick it up, they handed it to him but he did not open the envelope at the moment. When my mom went to pick it up from my grandfather a week later, the mortuary had given him someone else's death certificate! It was a breach of privacy because it had the person's social security number, name, manner of death etc... We were in shock! How could a mortuary make this type of mistake. We called the mortuary immediately and they tried to blame it on my grandfather, yet they are the ones that handed it to him! They knew they had made the mistake and immediately sent their employee to the County Recorder's office to pick up the correct death certificate. On top of all this my mom went to pick up the correct one and they couldn't find it. The owners weren't there so they had their cleaning lady searching for it, after an hour she finally found it. The cleaning lady had my mom looking in their files to help find it, unbelievable. I am still debating on whether to report them to the BBB. This whole ordeal has caused my family more heartache and I would hope, moving forward, that they will upgrade their organizational skills and train their employees to always uphold their confidentiality procedures because this is a major HIPPA violation. read more

This review is very much so overdue. My family and I have used Paramount Mortuary on two unfortunate occasions, my nephews passing and the passing of my baby boy. During both occasions Raul was so helpful, so empathetic and made you feel like family. He assured me he would pick up my son from the morgue ASAP and he kept his word. First and foremost let me apologize to Raul for such a late late review. I was organizing my yelp bookmarks and came across paramount mortuary. My aunt passed away about a year ago. We didnt exactly know what to do since she requested to be cremated. We were all like chickens with their heads cut off because this was our sister, our aunt, our loved one. It was one of the hardest deaths to deal with since my grandmas passing a few years back. Raul made us feel comfortable with the process from the first phone call to the end of the viewing. He made suggestions from the flower shop to the cemetary where we eventually burried my aunt. Its very hard to find trust in anybody in business these days but was easy to trust Raul in this difficult time that we were going through. The chapel where we had the viewing was very nice. It was private. They allowed us to serve drinks. Their restrooms were very clean. They have tv's for slideshows during the viewing. In my opinion A+++ for paramount mortuary and Raul. He was very courteous, recommended a florist in the area, Diana's Flowers, in Paramount, beautiful flowers and the service was beautiful. Had mic, tv screen for video, clean pews, clean outside grounds and restrooms. Masks required and 6 feet requirement. read more

It's hard to describe how wonderful the service here is. Recently a very beloved family member passed away and our entire family was at a loss and had no idea what to do. However, it's been truly a blessing working with the people here. They truly understand how difficult of a time it can be especially after someone you love has passed away, but they managed to be extremely understanding and consoling of the situation while maintaining a professionalism we didn't expect(other places were rude even under horrible circumstances). This review is long overdue! When my father passed away suddenly in May I had no idea what to do, where to go, what do ask! Lucky for me, I was referred to Raul from a family member. He is amazing!! During such a difficult time he brought comfort. He was so respectful and never got annoyed with my 1000 plus questions. Raul took his time to review my different options and allowed for flexible service timing. Most importantly though, I will always be so grateful to him because he always spoke of my father and treated my father's body with respect. Raul and Lori (his assistant) of Paramount Mortuary were and are absolutely amazing! They took such great care of our family. They went above and beyond with some very special and unique requests. Prior to my mom's death, Raul helped us with the exhumation of my father, who died in 1980. We wanted to move dad to the national cemetery in Riverside. My mom passed shortly after my father was exhumed and cremated. Lori arranged for the flag folding and the gun salute which was no easy task. My father was a merchant marine during WW II. Raul is such an incredible person to work with. He made my mother's transition very simple. Her remains will be transported to Mexico. Raul literally handled the entire process from picking up her body to the Mexican consulate paperwork, shipping and coordination with the funeral home that will be taking my mom to her hometown. This is the best most mortuary in the city. I've worked at mortuaries before and I have never seen a mortuary prices so inexpensive than Paramount. They don't rip your off they will labor with you from the beginning until you lay your love one to rest. I told my husband if I pass before him take my body to paramount mortuary. My brother was a Navy veteran and wanted to be buried at the National cemetery in LA. Since it is full we had to drive all the way to Riverside. Raul handled arrangements for military honors, and when we invited the Patriot Guard Riders to accompany us on the ride, Raul coordinated with them. Raul let us bring our computer to run a slide show and helped whatever we needed. He's also speaks Spanish and English both fluently. He had to deal with the coroners office and got things moved along faster. read more

I couldn't agree any more with the other review! I contacted Paramount Mortuary after my uncle passed away on March 9th. I had never made funeral arrangements before and had no idea what to expect or where to even start. I contacted a few different mortuaries and this one stood out not only because of their amazing customer service but because they were willing to work with me on price. Raul was very helpful over the phone answering all my questions/concerns. I met up with him the following day and he gave me a tour of the facility. I can honestly say that when I pulled up I was a bit skeptical since it's not so pretty on the outside but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The place felt very welcoming and very homie. The day of the service Raul was waiting for us at the door and helped me set everything up. They have a cozy little coffee room and even has the water going.
