I found Anubis and called, unsure if they would service the Orange County area. Absolutely everyone we spoke with at Anubis was very considerate and very accommodating. It was the Friday before Memorial Day so it took a while to get to Orange County. They carefully transferred my Mom to their vehicle. They were very responsive to all of our questions and really made the whole process much easier than I thought it would be. We really appreciated that as we were still trying to process our Mom's passing. They're the best! They arranged a meeting point midway between Glendale and where we lived in Orange County to transfer our urns to us. I highly, highly recommend Anubis. They really made a difficult time easier because of their excellent care of our Mom.

After the pickup we were told that a representative would reach out to us the following day so we could start making arrangements. They didn't call till 3 days later even after leaving them multiple messages! Imagine not knowing what's happening to your loved one or where they are located after they died. Our assigned rep only called AFTER I switched to Anubis Cremations and had arrangements for the body to be brought to their facilities. Wesleigh was so easy to work with. She picked up my call right away and took care of everything. She communicated every step of the way. I told her that my uncle who is a priest will be arriving in 2 weeks and we would like for the cremation and memorial service to happen while he was here. She mentioned that it's a very tight schedule but she would try to make it happen. And she 100% delivered!!! Within an hour of my initial call she had my auntie's body arranged for pickup, she sent paperwork to us and the doctor so she could start the process of filing the death certificate. The church where we wanted the memorial service wouldn't let us reserve a time till they had a cremation date. We were able to get the cremation date within a few days. We opted for a private open viewing at the crematory in Van Nuys. The crematory only does night time viewing which worked well for us since our family is busy working during the day. Wesleigh's coworker Jonathan took great care of us at the viewing. The place had a room for up to 15 people where family members could sit with the casket prior to the cremation. They dressed our auntie in her formal barong and jewelry. We were allowed to provide flowers, letters, and mementoes in the cardboard casket. Jonathan gave us sharpies so we could write notes on the casket. There were aslo tissues and an easel for our use. Although the viewing was technically 15 minutes, we were not rushed and were given about 20-25 minutes to do a prayer service and say our goodbyes. And then Jonathan and another employee wheeled her into the crematory. We watched them place her casket in the "oven" and once the door closed we left. They even allowed us to live stream the entire time we were there to our auntie's relatives back in the Philippines. The following day Wesleigh delivered the ashes to the church and she provided the letters and instructions we needed to bring the ashes back to the Philippines. We were also very happy with the urn we ordered from Anubis. It was engraved and had a photo of our auntie. It was perfect. I can't thank Wesleigh and Jonathan enough for providing an outstanding service that was stress-free, efficient, compassionate, and super professional during this difficult time of grief. I whole-heartedly recommend Annubis.

My mother passed away two months ago, and navigating everything that comes with that loss felt overwhelming. From the very beginning, their team made the entire process feel straightforward and manageable. They were incredibly respectful, responsive, and handled every detail with care and dignity. One thing that really stood out to me was their pricing. Everything was clearly laid out upfront, all-inclusive, and exactly as quoted--no hidden fees, no surprise add-ons. After dealing with other companies where costs kept creeping up, this level of transparency was such a relief. It allowed us to focus on honoring my mom instead of worrying about unexpected expenses. What stood out most overall was how easy they made everything during such an emotional time. There was no confusion, no added stress--just clear communication and genuine support when it mattered most. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Opal Cremation Services of Greater Los Angeles to anyone going through this process. They truly bring peace of mind when you need it the most.

It is never easy to lose a loved one. Our loved one passed away in our home, as they had wished,…read morewhich meant that we needed to make arrangements and could not move forward until a funeral home came to our house and helped us with next steps. Likewise our kind local sheriff needed to remain with us until someone arrived. Originally we contacted a funeral home in our area that is well known. We were given an estimated time of arrival of "within the hour." When that time came and passed I called and was given the same estimated time of "within the hour." When I was on my third hour of waiting with our loved one still on the floor where we had tried CPR, and the kind sheriff, patiently waiting, I began to call other funeral homes. I left a message at 2 others then on my third try I contacted "A Serenity Funeral & Cremation Services" and Daniel answered the phone. Despite having a busy morning right from the get-go he was kind, compassionate and forthright. He let me know he was having a busy morning and would do his very best to get there within the hour. He arrived within 30 minutes along with another gentleman. The compassion, tenderness and grace that they showed our loved one and to us, who we're newly grieving was an answered prayer. They reverently allowed us our final goodbyes and had no problem when I wanted to include a special blanket to wrap our loved one in. Daniel sat with us, answered questions and patiently walked us through the process. The kindness and care that Serenity Funeral and cremation services showed us should be a model for the industry. When we finished all the paperwork we realized that "A Serenity" was actually a fraction of the price of what we were going to pay with the locally touted company that continually told me it would be "within the hour." I highly recommend a Serenity Funeral and cremation services. While death is a part of life Daniel from Serenity made us feel as if the loss of our loved one was the most important thing in the world at that moment ..which for us it was. Thank you Daniel.
