Thank GOD for for Wesleigh at Anubis. She was amazing and so helpful. My sister had Neptune Society originally pick up our auntie's body from the hospice center. After the pickup we were told that a representative would reach out to us the following day so we could start making arrangements. They didn't call till 3 days later even after leaving them multiple messages! Imagine not knowing what's happening to your loved one or where they are located after they died. Our assigned rep only called AFTER I switched to Anubis Cremations and had arrangements for the body to be brought to their facilities. Wesleigh was so easy to work with. She picked up my call right away and took care of everything. She communicated every step of the way. I told her that my uncle who is a priest will be arriving in 2 weeks and we would like for the cremation and memorial service to happen while he was here. She mentioned that it's a very tight schedule but she would try to make it happen. And she 100% delivered!!! Within an hour of my initial call she had my auntie's body arranged for pickup, she sent paperwork to us and the doctor so she could start the process of filing the death certificate. The church where we wanted the memorial service wouldn't let us reserve a time till they had a cremation date. We were able to get the cremation date within a few days. We opted for a private open viewing at the crematory in Van Nuys. The crematory only does night time viewing which worked well for us since our family is busy working during the day. Wesleigh's coworker Jonathan took great care of us at the viewing. The place had a room for up to 15 people where family members could sit with the casket prior to the cremation. They dressed our auntie in her formal barong and jewelry. We were allowed to provide flowers, letters, and mementoes in the cardboard casket. Jonathan gave us sharpies so we could write notes on the casket. There were aslo tissues and an easel for our use. Although the viewing was technically 15 minutes, we were not rushed and were given about 20-25 minutes to do a prayer service and say our goodbyes. And then Jonathan and another employee wheeled her into the crematory. We watched them place her casket in the "oven" and once the door closed we left. They even allowed us to live stream the entire time we were there to our auntie's relatives back in the Philippines. The following day Wesleigh delivered the ashes to the church and she provided the letters and instructions we needed to bring the ashes back to the Philippines. We were also very happy with the urn we ordered from Anubis. It was engraved and had a photo of our auntie. It was perfect. I can't thank Wesleigh and Jonathan enough for providing an outstanding service that was stress-free, efficient, compassionate, and super professional during this difficult time of grief. I've never had to use a burial service until the recent passing of my mother. She passed at Cedars in Los Angeles and I asked the decedent department if they had any recommendations. They emailed me a list of about five mortuaries but what caught my attention with Anubis was their eco-friendly cremation. That alone wouldn't have been a reason to choose them so I read reviews and found many positive ones. I also viewed their YouTube videos and felt this may be the one to choose. Before I contacted Cedars, I called a couple of mortuary's but just did not "feel" it when I spoke with them. They just seemed busy or business as usual. So, I called Anubis and was greeted by a very friendly gal by the name of Wesleigh. I explained my situation as there was some dynamics with my other siblings. She listened and told me she'd find out more information and get back with me. She did get back with information and informed me if I chose to move forward, she'd be the one handling my mother. The entire process was seamless and transparent. No surprise fees or upselling. As I said, this was my first experience and I'm grateful it turned out very positive for me with Anubis. When everything was ready to be picked up, I drove over (40 miles), met Wesleigh, and handed me everything. I recently lost my mother a few weeks ago and was dreading the process of getting her cremated. I had lost my father 3 years ago and the process of getting him cremated was a nightmare full of funeral homes trying to upsell me on services and hidden surprise fees. So when my mother passed I began calling around to different funeral homes and cremation services. Nearly every place I called just seemed like I was inconveniencing them by asking questions or were super pushy. I had a list of about 6 or 7 places to call from the hospital my mom had passed at and the last one on the list was Anubis. So my roommate and I called and we talked to a woman named Wesleigh. She took the time to walk us through the different service options and showed genuine compasion. Not once did she push us to go with them. She just answered questions and showed genuine compasion. When the conversation was done she told us to call back if we wanted to move forward. After talking it over for about a half an hour we knew Anubis was the company to go with. Wesleigh explained that we just needed to fill out some paperwork on the website and the process could begin. We did that and the next day Anubis had arranged the transfer of my mom to them. Over the course of the next week Wesleigh and her colleuges Jonathan and Conrad would regularly email, call and text me with updates or questions to precess stuff like the death certificates. They made the entire process completely painless. The arranged for the ordering of a beautiful memorial urn that matches my Dad's perfectly. They took the time to find the exact same one and even asked for photos of my dad's urn to make sure they got a proper match on fonts for it. These littly touches made and incredibly difficult experience as painless as humanly possible. When everything was finished and I brought my mom's urn home I found a little card included in the bag. When I opened it I was surprsed to find that it was not a generic card just printed off by the company but was rather and hand written note that was signed by Wesleigh, Contrad and Jonathan (the 3 that dealt with my mom). That little touch really sets Anubis apart and shows that they care. The pricing of the services are incredibly reasonable and there were no surprise fees. I could not praise Anubis more if I tried. They make you feel like you are the only client they are dealing with and the whole experience could not have gone smoother. After the difficult loss of my mother, I was overwhelmed trying to make final arrangements. I had ZERO experience making these arrangements, so every decision was new.
