He quickly arranged transportation from Orange County to their facility in Los Angeles and made sure my father-in-law was treated with dignity and care. For the remainder of the process, I worked primarily with Vahik, who handled the extremely complicated international arrangements, permits, documentation, and transportation. Communication was always clear and transparent, and we knew what to expect every step of the way. When political developments unexpectedly suspended flights into Iran while the journey was already underway, Vahik and the team did not give up. They coordinated new documentation in Turkey, found an alternative route to an airport near the Iranian border, and arranged ground transportation so our family could receive my father-in-law and finally bring him to his hometown. During one of the hardest times in our lives, they took an enormous burden off our family. Their compassion, professionalism, communication, and determination to find a solution were truly exceptional. Most importantly, they helped us fulfill our final wish for our loved one and bring him home with dignity. We received written confirmation and a photograph documenting this. We were never notified that the service had not been performed. This came after we had already documented several other concerns with her arrangements, making this discovery even more disturbing. Our mother trusted this company to carry out one of her final wishes, and we trusted that it had been done. Learning months later that it had not--and now having to personally retrieve our mother's ashes--has been devastating. When families are grieving, they should be able to trust that the final wishes of their loved one will be handled with care, dignity, and accountability. Sadly, that was not our experience.

His name was Louie Fregoso, and he immediately stopped what he was doing and helped me find where I needed to go. Once we got there, he even asked if everything looked okay and if there was anything that needed maintenance, which I honestly wasn't expecting. While we were talking, I realized he had actually directed a service for someone I know before. I remember them having nothing but good things to say about how everything was handled, so it was nice putting a face to the name. Louie was really patient, professional and just genuinely nice to talk to. He never made me feel like I was bothering him or like he was trying to rush off. Considering the reason most people are at Forest Lawn in the first place, that kind of compassion really does make a difference. Funny enough, I ended up randomly running into him outside of work later on and recognized him right away. I went up to thank him again because I really did appreciate how he treated me that day. After the pickup we were told that a representative would reach out to us the following day so we could start making arrangements. They didn't call till 3 days later even after leaving them multiple messages! Imagine not knowing what's happening to your loved one or where they are located after they died. Our assigned rep only called AFTER I switched to Anubis Cremations and had arrangements for the body to be brought to their facilities. Wesleigh was so easy to work with. She picked up my call right away and took care of everything. She communicated every step of the way. I told her that my uncle who is a priest will be arriving in 2 weeks and we would like for the cremation and memorial service to happen while he was here. She mentioned that it's a very tight schedule but she would try to make it happen. And she 100% delivered!!! Within an hour of my initial call she had my auntie's body arranged for pickup, she sent paperwork to us and the doctor so she could start the process of filing the death certificate. The church where we wanted the memorial service wouldn't let us reserve a time till they had a cremation date. We were able to get the cremation date within a few days. We opted for a private open viewing at the crematory in Van Nuys. The crematory only does night time viewing which worked well for us since our family is busy working during the day. Wesleigh's coworker Jonathan took great care of us at the viewing. The place had a room for up to 15 people where family members could sit with the casket prior to the cremation. They dressed our auntie in her formal barong and jewelry. We were allowed to provide flowers, letters, and mementoes in the cardboard casket. Jonathan gave us sharpies so we could write notes on the casket. There were aslo tissues and an easel for our use. Although the viewing was technically 15 minutes, we were not rushed and were given about 20-25 minutes to do a prayer service and say our goodbyes. And then Jonathan and another employee wheeled her into the crematory. We watched them place her casket in the "oven" and once the door closed we left. They even allowed us to live stream the entire time we were there to our auntie's relatives back in the Philippines. The following day Wesleigh delivered the ashes to the church and she provided the letters and instructions we needed to bring the ashes back to the Philippines. We were also very happy with the urn we ordered from Anubis. It was engraved and had a photo of our auntie. It was perfect. I can't thank Wesleigh and Jonathan enough for providing an outstanding service that was stress-free, efficient, compassionate, and super professional during this difficult time of grief.
