My dad recently passed away and we felt comfortable using Valley Funeral Home as we have used them for a couple other family members. During the time between when my dad passed and his cremation, we were completely forgotten about. No one would call us back, no one had any answers, and my dad was completely forgotten. The only reason we were able to move forward with any of the process is because we kept calling and calling (daily) to get updates about what was going on. Everytime we called, we would get someone new, who had to contact someone else, then get back to us. But they never got back to us. We finally found out that nothing had been done with my dad because communication was lost on their end and no one knew/realized my dad was waiting to be cremated. Finally, Mike was able to assist us (2 weeks after my dad passed) and told us that he would make sure everything got done in a timely manner. Although we were happy with the help we received from Mike, the rest of the service we received was absolutely terrible, when we were already dealing with one of the worst times in our lives. They were so quick to charge our credit card for the service but then just as quickly, forgot about the service they needed to provide. I would not recommend Valley Funeral Home to anyone. They used to be family owned and actually cared, now that it's a part of Dignity Health it's just another corporation. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay away from valley funeral home Dena Giron was very rude and had a snotty attitude the whole time from begging to end of the services there. On the day of the actual viewing, she yelled at me to keep my mask on while i got up 10 ft to throw away tissue from crying. On top of that, they took almost 2 weeks to cremate my dads body and she never 1nce mentioned it was going to take that long, had to call 4 days to get an answer. His funeral service is 1 day away and we're barely receiving his ashes. Incase i have the wrong name, it's the lady with glasses and a stupid "i love you" tattoo on her right wrist. Sad because this funeral home has good reviews, but someone like dena can take that down just by being present. I will tell anyone and everyone i know to stay away and take business elsewhere. The worst experience, please stay away! Dignity needs to have a sit down with her and have her change up how she works because she's going to keep people away from going there. We dealt with Valley funeral home back in 2015 when my grandma passed away. They were great. So when my dad recently passed I decided to go with them again. The night they came to take my dad from our home the guys that picked him up we're very understanding and took much care with us. This was a very difficult moment for our family, the passing of our dear mother was not expected, like many other families we had no idea where to begin, the hospital instructed us to find a funeral home and to make the necessary arrangements to have them pick up my mothers body. I can't say enough good things about Valley Funeral Home. First, the ambiance is so very calm, dignified, and even home-like, which helps people with emotions that can be (understandably) running very high. I'm in agreement with Sam A. on this point. When my mother came home in January 2014, after a sudden hospitalization and rehab stay, my instinct was to make certain that she had pre-need arrangements that would honor her life and legacy. The representative at Valley Funeral Home was reassuring, respectful, and professional in showing me options that reflected those wishes. Then, with Mom's passing on February 1 of this year, Noel was so wonderful in helping me with the selection of the urn and composing the memorial cards (somehow, I had decided to defer these steps when putting together the "pre-need"). She also expressed concern about my immediate well-being. During our meeting in the afternoon, I realized that I was a bit faint. Mom had passed in the very early morning hours, and I hadn't eaten or even had more than a quick cup of coffee since the night before. Noel offered some water and a bag of snacks to keep my blood sugar up till I got back home. She also kept asking if I was going to be okay to drive. When a well-wisher sent a plant to their office for me, Noel kindly dropped it off at home. I used this funeral home in 2000 when my mom passed. Although my father made that decision. My father had arrangements with Forrest Lawn but they were experiencing a "busy period." I could only speak to one representative and our schedules were incompatible. Eventually Forrest Lawn would not be able to handle my requests in a timely fashion. I turned to Valley Funeral home. They handled transfer of the body with grace. I was able to speak to who ever answered the phone. All concerns, questions and approvals could be addressed when I was available. Everyone there was accommodating and sincere. They lent a compassionate ear in dealing with our loss. The decor has been updated since my mom had passed. Now it is very contemporary and soothing. When my Mom's cancer escalated suddenly, I found myself having to make arrangements immediately. I needed a place that had reasonable rates, or at least reasonable options, and would honor my wishes without trying to talk me into things I didn't need or want. I was not as bothered by the decor as the other reviewer - it looks rather old-fashioned and mid-western, but it didn't bother me because it felt kind of homey. And the staff was amazing. The pre-arrangement agent (can't remember her name) was so soothing and so considerate as to ask if the music selection they had playing was to my taste. She let me take as much time as I needed for each decision. She fully explained all my options. I felt very taken care of. After Mom passed I worked with Raquel, who was similarly soothing and considerate, and who helped me navigate all the ridiculous amounts of paperwork necessary to have my Mom cremated. When they needed my Dad's signature on some paperwork, they Fed Ex'd the documents to him and provided him with a return envelope pre-paid as well. They alerted me when they weren't getting the documents in a timely fashion from her physician, so I could assist them in making it happen. We got the minimum package for cremation, and splurged on a nice urn, and the whole thing was just over $2000. Which is an amazing price. They made navigating a horrible time a little easier, and that's a pretty wonderful thing. read more

We contacted Valley Funeral Home in Burbank to help with the planning of my Dad's cremation! We went in to do the preliminary paperwork so when my Dad passed they would be able to pick up his body at St Joseph's Hospital! He died the next day and all the hospital had to do was to call them! They arranged everything! When we went back to finalize everything, Raquel was not pushy by trying to talk us into things we did not want, but guided us, she was very compassionate! While we were there we found out the place we wanted to do the Celebration of His Life was already booked! Raquel asked if we would be interested in using their facilities? She showed us around and it was perfect! There was a large room for the tables and another small area for food and some smaller tables. She rented tables with linens for us! All we had to do was to show up and put things out on the day! We were the only family there, it was clean and spacious. When we arrived Raquel & her staff were very professional and accommodating! They had 3 TV's where we played the pictures of my Dad, we had several podiums to use, a table to use to display things of my Dads, Raquel arranged it and added a few special touches - it looked beautiful, my Dad would have been very pleased! We had 100 people and there was still plenty of room! She and her staffed did the cleaning up, it was so nice not to have to worry about anything! I felt very comfortable there and I would highly recommended them! They were wonderful! read more
