Losing my dad unexpectedly threw my family and I into a journey of deep grief we weren't ready for. My family looked to me to make all the plans and arrangements for my dad. Completely inexperienced in all of this, I was so anxious and had no clue where to go or what to do next. Then I found Allay Direct Cremation and so much of my worries and questions went away. Josh from Allay Cremation was the guy who helped me during this terrible time. He was so empathetic and professional. He went above and beyond to make sure the incompetent doctor signed the death certificate sooner than later. My father was treated with dignity in their care and I was always notified of where my father's body was from the moment of pickup to when he was sent off to a private autopsy and upon his return, Josh always informed me. I had never had to do this before and Josh was always one step ahead explaining all of the process. Josh just delivered the ashes to my residence. I'm grateful for him and Allay Cremations. It's very affordable, but that doesn't mean it's any less professional or lacking in dignity for one's loved one. I recommend Allay for anyone needing this service. I cannot say enough great things. They made one of the most difficult times in my life a lot easier. From the moment I had to make the unfortunate phone call I was treated with kindness and compassion. It was recommended by hospice to call in advance of my dad's passing to have it prearranged. I did take the advice. On the eve of his passing, I was able to arrange a pick up time that suited my family. They were on time and treated my father with dignity. Even laid an American flag over him as he was an American Veteran. I was kept in the loop of the entire process from start to finish. Josh our consultant answered any question I had. While the passing of a loved one is always a difficult time, Allay Cremation helped make our arrangements for our dad very simple and straightforward and thus added zero stress to the whole experience. We began seeking direct cremation services about a month before Dad passed, since we were told by hospice that he could go at any time. I was encouraged by all the 5 star reviews for Allay, as well as the reasonable price and straightforward procedure. I was able to fill out all the information (without having to pay ahead of time) in those first difficult days, electronically sign the forms, and then have the comfort of knowing that everything was set up for when Dad's time came. We were able to view many choices of beautiful urns for Dad's ashes, and chose a nice wooden one that fit his personality and faith. When the day came, Allay and the hospice team were in touch, and the family could focus on time together and saying goodbye to Dad without having to make numerous phone calls. The gentlemen from Allay who came to pick Dad up were extremely respectful and allowed us those last moments to say goodbye, before draping a flag over Dad (he was a veteran) and taking him into their care. Over the next few days, Josh (and sometimes Lawrence) were in touch regularly. Nearly every day I received an email or a phone call from Josh clarifying information from me and/or letting me know where they were in the process of information for the death certificates, medical information, cremation schedule, etc. So we were never left wondering what was going on. Repeatedly, they expressed their condolences, and we as a family felt very cared for. When Dad's ashes were ready, they let us know ahead of time and offered multiple options for receiving them and the death certificates we had ordered. We so appreciated the professionalism, care, concern, communication, and respect our family received from Allay and their team, and I would recommend them to anyone seeking a direct cremation option for their loved one. read more

I am so glad that we went with Lawrence at Allay Direct Cremation. It's hard to describe everything he has done for us, but it was simply ABOVE and BEYOND what I think any other cremation business would have done. Lawrence is incredibly compassionate, understanding, and super competent at what he does. Our case ended up requiring a few more steps and a bit more attention due to some hospital release issues and unclear cause of death requiring a trip to the coroner's office, plus some religious procedures. Lawrence kept me updated pretty much every single day with emails or text messages, I knew what was happening the entire time. He would even update me when there was no update, just so I could have peace of mind. All his advise was spot on about the coroner's turnaround time, etc...he seems to know all the ins and outs of this business. I also loved how all of their forms were done via some kind of electronic signature service vs. having to print/scan/fax, that was a nice touch that made everything easier. I also liked how they were no surprise extra charges, even when I tried to possibly upgrade the urn to wood or metal, he honestly advised how it might not be the best idea when traveling through TSA or air and how the standard plastic urn might be more durable and less questionable. Talk about doing what's right for people, he did this at every step of the entire process. Without a single doubt, I am certain that we picked the right person for this difficult and delicate task. My father passed, and I was told that due to the pandemic most mortuaries had delays of many weeks. I was referred to Allay by a very reputable Pasadena mortuary, in hopes they could help sooner. I was so glad I called them. From the moment I spoke with Lawrence, it was just easy. He explained the process, he explained any delays due to covid, and he kept in touch with me along the way to let me know what was happening and when. You don't think of these things- like when transport will happen, and when cremation will happen, but it mattered. By the time I got to this company I was loaded for battle and righteously indignant about funeral services in general. It wasn't so much the cost, but the lack of information that I was getting. I tried a half dozen services from the most to the least and just could not get a full straight answer out of any of them. I was getting half-truths, non-truths and deceptive treatment or no treatment at all. I am thankful this was only my best friend and shooting partner of many years. If it were a parent , I would have probably submitted to the exploitation I was running into and paid the freight they wanted o extract. I should probably apologize to Allay for coming on sop strong! Allay was half the price and double the service of anyone I had spoken to . I you need a pacemaker taken out, it's a hundred bucks rather than $250. If the body is over 300 pounds you pay an extra fee. Its all there on the website right in front of you almost unbeleivably transparent. When my old buddy passed from this vale of tears, they were at the place to secure the body within an hour. They kept me informed along the way and could not have been a more than a caring company. They didn't make anything happier, but they sure made it easier. It was a blessing and relief to have happened across them. I recommend them not only for the fair pricing and the excellent, attentive service, but for not trying to exploit in a trying time. read more

Lawrence was (is) wonderful. My lifes love died two months ago. I was (as you reading this may be) enveloped in a pain so dark, so heavy and burdensome, a pain as such i did not know existed or was even possible in this world.
