We lost…read moreher in mid February of 2026 and during the extremely emotional and difficult time that followed, Forest Lawn - Covina Hills was a support that I did not expect to have as we navigated my mother's celebration of life and interment. Our first contact with Forest Lawn was a few hours after my mom's passing while she was in hospice at our home. They were able to respond within three hours of the nurse contacting them to transport her body. Both gentlemen who arrived were professional and clear communicators. They collected information and then explained to us every step of what was going to happen next and even explained why they did some of the things they did. Before they left they instructed us to call Forest Lawn to set up an appointment during the next business day. Our appointment took place about a week later. Adriana was the counselor we initially met with. We went over the package my mother purchased for herself and the decisions she made ahead of time and which she left for us to make. With each step, Adriana was clear about how any of the adjusments we requested would impact the final cost. We also met with a representative from the team doing my mom's make up and hair as well as a florist. This initial meeting took about 3 hours. 5 adults from my family were part of the meeting and each of our voices were heard. Adriana also provided contact information for her and a colleague so that we could ask any questions that came up after the meeting. The most beneficial service that Forest Lawn provided was complementary access to Cadence. It is an online platform that list all the steps that need to be taken after a loved one passes. It includes information about who informs which government entities and how to inform private companies. Additionally, Cadence offers virtual grief groups twice a month. I attended one group it was helpful to process the grief. The services were scheduled 2 weeks after the appointment with Adriana. Jordan was our point person for the day of the funeral and he was kind, clear, and was fully present during all the components of the funeral. The viewing day and the funeral day were honestly a blur for me, but I walked away with the impression that my mother got the best of the best which she deserved. Forest Lawn was helpful every step of the way.

It's near & dear to me because my paternal grandma & uncle are interred here. It is busy today as it is Day of the Dead. Greens are well maintained. Funeral services, viewings, cremations are available. Parking is usually plentiful except today. Traffic cops are manning the entrance to help control flow. It's peaceful & reflective.

Its exquisite ceiling and doors dates back 1907 since its inception. Yes, it's been through 117 years and still going strong. I can tell it's very well maintained. My aunt had a beautiful service. Everything went very well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking lot is very small. It created a slight challenge because all cars were parked behind one another except for the first car. Luckily, I was able to drive on the sidewalk to get out. It's best to park on the street if you don't plan to stay long or be the first car in line. He took his time, answered all our questions, gave us piece of mind, and gave us our space to grieve as we were making hard and emotional decisions. Mario gave me the opportunity to identify my dad's body after it arrived in the US, to give me a piece of mind and confirm it was him. Mexico funeral services embalm the body very different from how it is done in the US. My dad's body had a strong medication odor when my it arrived. Mario was very honest with my expectations and promised to try their best to clean up my dad and get rid of the smell as much as possible. The day of the visitation, we arrived about 30 minutes early. Mario and his assistant had everything ready. He explained the process of how everything would happen and was there if we needed anything. They both made sure the chapel was clean, made sure the flowers were placed beautifully and everything followed its timeline. My dad's body did not smell at all. His embalming was perfect and most importantly, he looked like himself. The day of the graveside services, Mario and his assistant again had everything ready before the scheduled time. Everything ran on schedule, and he was right by our side if we had any questions. I will forever be grateful for his services. We felt like we were taken care of by a family member. The whole process was smooth. I hope we don't have to go through this again anytime soon, but I know I will definitely reach out to them if I am ever in the same situation again.
