My father and his wife recently visited Oakdale Memorial Park to pay respects to family members and had difficulty locating the gravesite. They were in the correct location, but the grass had grown so thickly over the marker that it was nearly impossible to see, even when standing right near it. Monique, Crystal, Solomon, and Eliceo came together as a team to help. It ultimately took the combined effort of all four of them to locate the marker, uncover it, and make it accessible so they were able to take a moment, lay some flowers, and pay their respects. On 11/2/24, Dia de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, visiting grandma & uncle. This is a small cemetery in Glendora in comparison to Forest Lawns. It's near & dear to me because my paternal grandma & uncle are interred here. It is busy today as it is Day of the Dead. Greens are well maintained. Oakdale is hands down the worst place with the absolute worst customer service. My family had a terrible experience here during my mom's burial a few years ago and my dad's burial recently. The total lack of care and professionalism from their staff still frustrates me to this day. We dealt directly with John and Candy for coordination, and they dropped the ball in every possible way: Misleading Information & Financial Loss: John explicitly told us there would be an organ inside the chapel for the service. Based on his word, we hired a professional pianist. When we arrived, no organ was provided, leaving our pianist completely unable to play--yet we still had to pay her out of pocket for her time. Uncorrected Official Errors: They made major mistakes on my dad's death certificate. Zero Follow-Through: Despite sending multiple emails and leaving messages to John and Candy to get the death certificate errors corrected, neither of them ever bothered to respond or get back to me. They completely ignored the issue and left us to deal with their mistake. When you are grieving and trying to lay a parent to rest, you trust a burial coordination team to be accurate, respectful, and responsive. Oakdale failed on every single count. This place was a recommendation...and my family will forever regret it. I gave it one star because it wouldn't let me go lower. The experience added so much stress to an already difficult time. The communication is beyond awful, receptionist help is pretty useless and updates were somewhat given after many, many phone calls. Finally had to make a visit back to speak with a Director/manager for any information at all. The manager (if that is who it was) called out my loved one's name in the lobby instead of mine. I stood up and let her know that no,that's my mom's name. So tell me why we walk into a room with a file in her hand that wasn't even my mother's. I just told her my mom's name and she still sat me down to discuss things of the wrong person. Clearly proving that they aren't really even listening to you. Well, I will say they are excellent at taking your money right away, and then try to upsell you. I could go on and on with this terrible place, but I'll stop here and try to forever put Oakdale out of my mind. Please make your arrangements elsewhere. This place is absolutely awful. My mommy loved music . They said we were only allowed 20 minutes of music at the burial and since musicians are paid per hour we "would be wasting our money". During the burial they immediately took away our seats and basically kicked us out as we were experiencing a nightmarish pain. As the years have passed I've seen people play music for hours . I've seen people able to sit in front of the casket for over an hour. The trashcans are always over flowing, there is no restrooms and they will kick you out as soon as there is a sign of the sun going down . I have been going here for many years. Both of my grandparents from my mother's side are buried here. My mom is also buried here. Each time I go here, I notice this place is relaxing and helps me clear my mind when I go by and visit their graves. All the grounds seem to be kept up clean and nicely green. It is sad that I have to see so many memorials as so many have loved ones that have passed on. However when I drive through it is a very beautiful sight to all the wonderful flowers people leave here. Just recently I had a grade school friend that was put to rest here. I went inside for help, some instruction on getting to where his graveside service would be. The lady at the info was so nice and helpful. Nothing but good things to say about this place for the situations given. This was one of the worst experiences my family and I have ever had to endure. The staff is completely disorganized, and communication is extremely poor. We buried our father over a year ago, and it took more than a full year--along with countless texts, emails, and phone calls--just to get the correct headstone delivered. What made matters worse was the lack of follow-through. We were never proactively updated. When we finally reached out for a status, we were told the headstone had already been delivered and would be installed over the weekend. Based on that, we made arrangements to bring our 88-year-old mother to visit the site the following week. To our shock and disappointment, the headstone had not been installed. We had to go into the office ourselves to address the issue, where we were told it was a "misunderstanding"--despite having received an email stating it had already been installed. We then had to wait over two hours, in 90-degree heat, for them to install it on the spot. This entire process was unnecessarily stressful, poorly managed, and deeply disappointing--especially given the sensitive nature of the situation. Overall I am so disappointed in the way the funeral director was acting on the night of my uncles funeral. I get it they have to be very much professional and show no emotions but damn this man was slouched on a chair as if it was just another day of him sitting on his couch making himself at home. You are at work you need to understand you are working with a family who just lost a loved one . During the service he was not making rounds and nor was he making sure everyone was okay and at one point he was nowhere to be found. We then found him once he came into the view room to shout out the viewing is over and you guys can all exit now. So all this money we are paying for a nice send off for our loved one and you guys can't deliver in a nicer way a goodbye and send us off alittle nicer . Not only that but THE RUDE ASS SECURITY GUARD WAS YELLING AT US from his stupid speaker and turned his lights on to tell us we need to leave because it was officially closed but the time does not specify the parking closes at 8pm it say (dawn to dusk) and the sun was very much out still. Do better Oakdale . This funeral could have been much more enjoyable if we didn't feel like we were timed and being thrown out . Also they need to offer more help to the people who get the bodies ready because the was they leave these poor people looking is not right . Truly so disappointing. The amount of care Oakdale provided was exceptional. The space for the viewing and the service was lovely, the flowers provided (done on-site) were gorgeous, and the garden for cremation remains were was conceived and beautiful. Many people working, especially Chula and Manny put in so many extra hours late into the night for our family which was so very appreciated. Sunday, Mother's Day my family and I went to the cemetery to go visit my father. Office doors close at 5. The individual LIAM was letting an older lady in and my daughter ran to the door right after the lady and he shut the door on her face. but he was previously letting ladies in the restroom( shown in the video of one walking out) He closed the door on my child. I started recorded when he let other ladies come out of the restroom it was 4:52.. A bystander went close to also tell him if he can make a accommodation for my daughter since he had made a accommodation for his mother just seconds before.. I've worked in many places where I've had to close stores up at 10/11 pm. Closing time is exactly at the time 10/11pm as said on the doors of the store. It was very unprofessional of him to do that and add smart comments. I felt humiliated by him and so did my daughter. My daughter ended up peeing on herself because she couldn't hold it. I went into the port a potties and they were filled up to the top of the rim. They smelled horrible and I wasn't going to let my daughter use those disgusting little "restrooms" as they said. Very unprofessional and humiliating. I thought we buy properties there and get treated like it's care, respect and dignity but that wasn't the case here. read more

The cremation garden here is beautiful - clean, peaceful, well kept. The location is lovely. Unfortunately, the customer service has been very, very disappointing as we lead up to the internment of our mother. We signed a contract with Oakdale in January 2025 and have kept all our financial commitments. We understand that the balance must be paid in full before our loved can be interred in December. However, since August, two different employees have asked us to pay the balance early before they could proceed with installation and inscription - terms that are not stated in our contract. I emailed them on October 2nd asking for clarification, but no one has responded. Then on October 8th, we were informed by a friend that the pedestal was actually installed BUT it was installed sideways! The angel topper is facing a tree instead of the nearby walkway. An employee who went to look at it agreed that it was odd placement and would have someone contact us. Nobody has contacted us. This was deeply upsetting and felt almost intentional. That same day, I emailed Jessica Sandoval, the location manager (who I noticed responds to other poor reviews) and once again, I have heard nothing back. I have several family members that have been laid to rest at this park and over the last 5 years it has really become terrible. Today I went to visit my mom for mother's Day and scattered throughout the grounds were beer bottles pizza boxes and other trash. Not to mention I couldn't even locate my mother's grave at first because it had been so covered with grass and unmanicured as well as my aunt and my grandmother's which are on different sides of the park from hers. It seems like all of the grounds in general have just been neglected for a very long time. The flower holders are buried and the stones themselves are suffering with covered grass. Beware - go elsewhere if you want calls back and to be treated with respect. I should have trusted the other reviews and known better after it took many unreturned calls from me and family to even get started with burial process, but since we had other family members buried there, we thought it was the right place for our loved one. Everything was terrible from the start. Lack of communication at every stage. Phone calls and emails not returned. We were told minutes before the witness cremation, that we shouldn't view the body due to the condition - literally minutes before and then forced to make really hard decisions on the fly - so cruel. At the burial portion of the service, they literally had a man in a gardner outfit superglue, yes he pulled out some superglue, the urn in a box in front of family and the guests. It was so tacky and upsetting. We were not told that was going to happen that way - it could have been much more dignified. We had to stop that portion of service because it was so awful. We were told nothing about what to expect for the burial. Also, it took a several proofs to try and get the headstone correct, we were lied to about what we could put on it (origially told we were to select from a page of prepared sayings, when we were later told we could put what we wanted). The headstone ends up being so incredibly small compared others around it - we had no idea it would be like that. It's not like you walk around with a tape measure to figure out the size when you are grieving and there for 5 hours making arrangements. We've been calling for days to try and get it fixed - no returns calls from Sandra - what a shocker! Even though my daughter is buried there, we refuse to be buried there with her. My uncle, Richard Keith Moore PFC US ARMY KOREA veteran. passed away in 1978 and I wanted to visit his grave today. Its been a long time since I've been here and I couldn't locate his grave. I asked Crystal for help and she went to work right away and then Ricardo (security) offered his assistance and he was amazing, they all were! I found my uncles grave with their help, thank you! I and sat near my uncles grave for a while as I cleaned up his headstone and felt his presence and had a peaceful feeling come over me. He passed away at the age of 44. He was sick for years but always had a positive attitude. I strive to be the same as him. Maribel Pantoja has been assigned to make arrangements for our mother's inurnment. On 3/13/26, I called and was told she was with another family. I left a message and was told she would call me back when she was done. After not hearing from Maribel for two days, I sent her an email. It's been a week and I have not received a call back or a response to my email. Another example of poor communication was regarding the engraving of my mother's marker. They said it would take 3-4 weeks. Around the 3 week mark, I started inquiring. They were insistent they would contact me when it done and seemed bothered by my inquiry. After waiting another week, I decided to go visit my father's inurnment site. I was surprised to see my mother's marker done. I called the office and asked when my mother' marker would be done. They said it was completed a week ago. Approximately a week later, I received a call stating my mother's marker was done. I feel extremely bad for those families trying to get a service done contemporaneously with their loved one's passing. While my mom's services were beautifully carried out it has been upsetting regarding the rules they have for decorations! My dad has done a great job at abiding by them, unfortunately I think rules weren't relayed clearly and it was so heart wrenching to see things gone from my mom's burial site! And while I understand rules need to followed I do believe a call could have been made to let us know about the issue, give us time to correct and remove sentimental items before trashing them away or even holding some items at the front office before disposing of them! This place is inefficient as hell. Unfortunately, most of my family is buried here and we want to be together, however, I don't think that will be the case in the future because these people are ridiculously inefficient and have attitude for days. We paid so much for services, they should do better. Firstly, they inputted the original contract incorrectly in their system - we thought we had everything situated two years ahead of my grandmother's passing and they still messed it up. Thankfully, we had a hand written contract and they honored it. Secondly, I had family come in for the funeral and they needed proof of attendance for their jobs, and school, which took forever to get. My cousin lives very far and stayed after the funeral to get this documentation, they told her to come back to collect it and they would have it ready, however, they didn't have it ready when she returned on the day they told her to pick it up. They said they couldn't help her. We had to call and get the situation resolved, but wow, this place is ridiculous. No surprise they're rated so low. Nice cemetery, awful staff. read more

Ileen was very thoughtful and considerate when assisting and guiding me in the overall process of purchasing an upgraded headstone for my mother's grave site. Miss Beltran made wonderful recommendations on size, color and the overall layout of the new headstone. Not only did she understand and thoroughly know how to navigate through the design process, but she also made it easy for me to understand and see the layout previous to completing the order.. Unacceptable outcome after a day of rain on how it wasn't handled properly. At least 12 families gravesite were affected by the rain est $15,000 per family. You have been paid in full a total of $180,000.00. Yet, no call to give me a heads up. My parents marker covered in mud! No! Gladstone you were paid in full for your services. That's how you've been able to expand. You currently have two expansions, business is booming. Your customer service is lacking. You're in the business of empathy, sympathy & compassion. You tell me, is that your first impression looking at these pictures? I spoke with a representative and he apologized & asked me to give them a week to clean up.
