I just had THE BEST experience at Headspace. My needs were met in every sense. First of all, an 8am appointment?! So convenient for my schedule and it felt like I had the entire salon to myself. Brooke introduced herself as my stylists' assistant and we hit it off immediately. She was so wonderful and easy to talk to! She prepped me for Katie to cut my hair. I have had really long hair for the last 6-8 years. It was a little scary going in for this dramatic chop but I was ready for it. Katie didn't even need a reference photo, she just asked me a few questions and got right to work. I love Katie for suggesting not cutting AS MUCH this time and that if I wanted more we could work up to a shorter length. I am so grateful to her because I love the length and probably would have cried if it was any shorter. Lol. I already scheduled to get my color corrected by her in a couple weeks and I cannot wait! Also, it's just a beautiful salon that sells the typical things but ALSO PLANTS. My plant Mom heart is immediately sold. Thank you Katie and Brooke for making my entire week!!! read more

Opened the door to good vibes. Well-designed space, chill check in and cozy waiting area. Interesting jewelry and handmade items from local folks displayed as decor. Kaila gets it. She gave me the haircut I needed and wanted without asking me to describe my ideal haircut and without ever seeing a reference picture. I told her about my hair's quirks. What I needed it to and NOT do. And where I thought I was in my hair journey. About an hour later, I'm walking out looking good and feeling great. A week later, somehow, the haircut is even better. I could not recommend Headspace enough!!!! I have tried SOO many different hair salons in my life and this place was different. I booked with Brooke and her attention to detail was insane. I am not joking, she LITERALLY cut my layers/bangs by the individual hair strand until we got it perfect. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this salon! Nicole is the most amazing stylist and make-up artist. She is fun, personable, professional, quick and always gives me exactly what I ask for. She also has insanely beautiful lashes, which is how I met Taylor who does lash extensions. Taylor was recommended by Nicole before my wedding over a year ago. Once Taylor set me up with the most amazing lashes of my life I was hooked! They are long, lush and have not damaged my real lash line. She is a pro and an all around great person. I also love the decor, beautiful plants and greenery that fill the salon. I've made a few purchases and they've made great additions to my home. This is the second time I've gone to Kaila and she is beyond amazing! It's difficult to find someone that cuts and styles curly hair well and she's got it! She's also very knowledgeable, answered my questions, and gave me options. I left the salon exactly the way I would style my hair myself which is great since most of the time, when I leave with curly hair, it frizzes and I have to redo it when I get home. She takes her time and really goes above and beyond. Highly recommend! read more

The place is very beautiful and everyone is so kind. That's why I gave them 2 stars. However I had an appointment Saturday and was told last minute that day that my hair dresser wasn't coming in. We rescheduled for a week later. I wanted curtain bangs and face frame but instead I got really thin bangs that I have no idea to style. This is THE place to be when looking for the best in Austin. I had struggled for years trying to find someone to give me the smudge root, beach blonde look and Laura nailed it. No brass base or too ice blonde...it was perfect. I have recently played with extensions and I am in love. Having the volume restored to my pre mama, youthful, fullness has been a dream. It's all about Shay. She had cut and colored my hair for almost two years now. We've been all over the blonde to bronde highlight/balayage spectrum and a precision bob to long layers. She even did my wedding hair. I didn't even book a trial. I came in the morning of my wedding and left with the perfect, modern chic bun that lasted all day and night. She is a great listener helping you figure out what you want. She is mellow and interesting to talk to, but I also never feel awkward pulling out my book to enjoy a couple hours of uninterrupted reading. The salon is nice too! I've been seeing Crystal for a while now for hair cuts and styling. After 5 long years of no hair dye and being all natural I decided I wanted her to color my hair. I shared an inspiration picture with her and she made it happen exactly. She is my favorite hair stylist ever! It was about a 3 hour process since I have long hair and we brought it from my natural mousey blonde to a very light blonde, but we chatted the whole time & she made me feel so comfortable. I pretty much cried when she was done because I felt so pretty & like my old self again. The whole vibe at the salon is amazing. I can't recommend crystal or headspace enough! read more

I hesitated leaving a review but I was extremely taken aback when I saw the commentary on the refund; without even an apology for what she did to my hair. The 2 stars is for the partial refund. I made an appointment for a partial balayage & was excited to try something new. Upon arrival I realized that I should have brought photos. After speaking with the stylist we decided to proceed with highlights. I mentioned several times I did not want yellow or brassy highlights. I showed her a photo of a previous highlight color I liked. She kept talking about toner. I told her every time toner has been used on my hair it hasn't looked good. However, she never took the time to explain the variances in toner nor did she have color examples. She ended up talking me into toner & 3 hours later we w ere done. Unfortunately the lighting in the salon is different than outside. The portion she dried looked ok so I paid & left. When I got in my vehicle I noticed it looked yellow & orange. I thought maybe it's the lighting. I looked again in natural light & yep, brassy yellow. After I got home I finished drying it & there were yellow streaks. It honestly looks like a chunky highlight job from the 1990s. I called the next morning when the salon opened. The girl that answered was nice. I explained what happened. She said she'd speak with the stylist & they'd get back to me but she thought they could fix it. I waited a few hours & no response. I called again because I can't go out in public with this hair. It's that bad. The girl this time was also very nice. She gave me the owner's email address so I sent a nice email with photos asking for help. No response from the owner whatsoever going into day 2 with yellow & orange hair. I finally received a message that they would not be correcting my hair & they refunded the money for the highlight BUT not only did she ruin my hair, she wasn't truthful about the appointment. I was never rude at any point in time. Be careful going to this salon if you want ashy blonde highlights because they will not fix a color mistake and they try to make the client feel like it's their fault. Does it really make sense that a client would be angry for over 3 hours at the person doing her hair? ....doesn't make sense to me either. read more

I LOVE Laura North! She's great at taking photos I present or ideas I tell her about styling my hair and making them come to life and look great. I also trust her enough to walk in and say "do whatever you want"... And walk away loving the end results. Without a doubt, my hair always ends up looking healthier, more lustrous and overall better than it did with other stylist in the past. Laura's a doll and she's just amazing! I also have to give props to a few other ladies at the salon... Taylor with her amazing lash work (I love her mascara, too!) and Regina keeping the ladies in line and appointments in order.
