Electrical, plumbing and painting work were also needed. Having never undertaken any type of project on the house before, I relied on photos and reviews of previous clients. Working with Daniel and his crew day to day for a total of 4 weeks, I have nothing but great things to say about the entire experience. Daniel's crew are punctual, respectful, professional and always cleaned up at the end of each day. Daniel carefully listened to all of my needs for this project and once completed, all stated needs were met. I will definitely be working with Daniel again for many upcoming projects. We need to replace our roof at our condo. But to complicate the roof work, we have a deck on it…read more Through Yelp , I contacted several roofing companies and none of them wanted anything to do with the deck. Except one of the roofing company recommended a general contractor they had worked with to work on the deck. It all sounded good until I asked the GC for his liability and workman's insurance which was alarmingly lacking. So I came back to Yelp for help. After meeting with several general contractors , Rothman stood out as Marshall expertly identified our deck material as Ipe wood and took steps to preserve it. Rothman also is knowledgeable and is experienced with San Francisco's permitting process. Before the roof work, Rothman efficiently disassembled our deck, removed the old frame and organized the railing and decking in a way that allowed the roofing company to move quickly and complete the roofing work smoothly. Rothman came back afterward to reassemble our deck, plank by plank, carefully and meticulously. Rothman was competitively priced and carried all necessary licenses, insurance, and certifications. Well, it is not easy to find a contractor who is honest, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, easy to work with, pays attention to details, shows up on time, cleans up well , does great work and finishes on time. The deck looks beautiful now and we couldn't be happier with Rothman's work! Thank you Marshall!!!

Our experience was very positive! He was thoughtful, punctual, thorough about his work, and determined to finish each project at the highest quality. He and his team were incredibly clean, respectful of our family and kids, and always ready to help with anything and everything. I would highly recommend!

Noy was my project manager and was a blessing. He held my hand thru the entire process and communicated everything clearly. Finished product is beautiful, but the process and project management is not as advertised…read more We met with 5 different contractors to get bids for our small bathroom remodel project. Green Bay Remodeling was the highest bid by 20-50%. We selected Green Bay because they pitched themselves as a turnkey solution and I would simply sit back and just make payments. In reality I needed to be involved constantly to keep this project on track. A few examples: - Sourcing: In the sales meeting, we were told that materials would be sourced by them from their "catalog" and shipped from "their warehouse". I liked the simplicity of that, but in reality, they order things from online vendors like Wayfair and Home Depot and shipped directly to my home. This turned my garage space into their warehouse for nearly 2 months. Also, it is just bad business to ship heavy, breakable things - for example, we had 2 toilets delivered to our home in giant packages - both of which were broken on arrival. (there's a hardware store less than a mile from my home that has toilets in stock) - Communication: We were promised daily updates, this did happen once the construction work started because they often wanted a payment, but we went for long times not hearing during planning process. - Timeline was set by PM as 4 weeks from sign date for permits and planning (closer to 8 weeks due to absences and avoidable omissions on permit application) and 4 weeks for construction (that was met with multiple issues and creative workarounds deployed). - Presence: We understood the PM would be present on the site and would be the main point of contact, but he was missing at key times - including during an inspection with the city permitting department - Attention to detail: Materials were sourced late or incorrectly (a 60 inch vanity ordered rather than 72inch) and broken materials were not identified immediately. We made the construction timeline but only with some creative solutions and lots of legwork. Overall, the guys at GBR are nice, charming people and the finished product looks good. But I give that credit to the amazing sub-contractor who completed the entire project. He covered for their issues and went out of his way to solve problems so that the finished product looked amazing and was finished on time. I would give this person a 5 star review, but I would not engage GBR in the future as this does not reflect value for money.

Jessy is an extremely fast communicator and will show up at the drop of a hat whenever something comes up. His attention to detail is outstanding, and the quality of the work is top-notch -- all at a very reasonable cost. He works unbelievably hard (including weekends and holidays) and, together with his team, completed two full bathrooms, a full kitchen remodel, a load-bearing wall removal, new floors, painting, and finishes in just 3.5 months. The pace and execution were remarkable. His team was just as impressive -- great, respectful, highly skilled, and flexible throughout the entire process. They were a pleasure to have in our home. We were on a tight timeline because we were expecting a baby, and Jessy went above and beyond to make sure everything was finished in time. That level of care meant a lot to us. We would absolutely work with Jessy again and recommend him without hesitation.

After interviewing multiple contractors, G Family stood out immediately as the only team that came on site, dug into the details, and worked to understand our intent--not just replicate the designs. Their honest, up-front pricing was a major differentiator. We received a clear, comprehensive estimate with everything included, while other bids had many "TBD" items that weren't part of the real number. When I factored in those gaps, G Family was very competitive. They were also incredibly collaborative in helping dial in the details: when certain elements exceeded our budget, they provided practical alternatives and helped create a phased plan so we could add features later. Execution matched the planning. Communication was clear, updates were frequent, and when inevitable snags arose, they took the time to explain options and trade-offs. They even diplomatically guided me away from a bad design choice using their experience--absolutely the right call in hindsight. They also handled HOA-required changes without billing extra or anything like that. G Family isn't the cheapest, but the value is worth it. They were accountable, invested, and genuinely treated the project like it was their own backyard. Beyond the craftsmanship, they're just great, down-to-earth people to work with. Our once-underutilized yard is now a beautiful outdoor living space we use every day. I highly recommend G Family Construction!

Most of the contractors gave us very brief proposals with just a total cost and very little documentation. In contrast, Jon from G Family inspected our house inside and out, reviewed the architectural plans, then put together a thoroughly professional bid that clearly detailed all aspects of the project with their specific costs. His attention to detail made G Family an easy choice. It was a pleasure working with the G Family team, especially Jon, co-owner, Angeleah, interior design consultant, Sunil, our project manager and Juan, the tile foreman. The entire G Family team was very professional, punctual and courteous as well as dedicated to producing a quality product. Jon and Sunil were very responsive when questions arose about the project. G Family's professional experience really paid off. We had to deal with several code upgrades and town building department requirements. Jon devised creative solutions that addressed the issues without significantly impacting the cost or schedule. Because they are a full-service contractor, G Family was able to guide us through many of the project details. This helped reduce the stress of all the decisions that needed to be made. Despite warnings from friends and neighbors that a major remodel like ours would go over schedule and cost at least double the original quote, the project finished on time and within our budget. We are extremely pleased with our "new" home and so happy that we chose G Family to do our remodel. We highly recommend them. We would not hesitate to work with them on future projects.
