Whiteside and his team were excellent. Superb service and quality! On time, clean, friendly. Absolutely. Amazing. These words don't give justice to the fantastic service and care that Dave and his team provided. Such a great experience through and through. We had flooring that was extremely damaged. Dave's team managed and coordinated construction and permit steps seamlessly and very professionally. He was always available and very quick with responses. The new concrete flooring looks fantastic, modern, and has zero cracks. The excavation process was quick, seamless, and I was so happy with how quickly the process moved along. David helped us with so much, even with some decisions and ideas we had trouble making; and everyone he works with was amazing! The entire process and result are just absolutely outstanding. We are very happy and beyond satisfied with the quality of work that Whiteside Construction Corporation and the team provided. Thank you so much! Highly recommended! read more

If you're looking for a reliable, skilled and local contractor, definitely call Whiteside Construction. I found Whiteside Construction because my sister works at UCSF hospital, and I saw that they had done the concrete pour and a lot of other construction work for that job. See pictures to highlight the beautiful work they did on that job which made me hire them as well. I am overjoyed with the results on my job, and everything was done absolutely top notch. I know they do a lot of work in Marin, East Bay, South Bay, and just generally the Bay Area so do not hesitate to hire them if you're around this area. When our original contractor fell through, our structural engineer referred us to Whiteside Construction team, and for that we are eternally grateful. As was the case with another reviewer, from the moment we met him, we were won over by his authenticity and the sound advice he gave us based on his years of experience. It seems like everyone who's ever re-modeled has horror stories about their contractor - except us.. because of Whiteside Construction's amazing quality, respectful demeanor, and ability to get the job done. In addition to a number of miscellaneous projects, Dave's crew handled a lot of work to the house and a completion of concrete stairs. Whiteside completed the first phase of a remodel for our home as well as the seismic retrofitting for the house. We could not be more pleased. Dave was easy to work with, knowledgeable, prompt, and reasonably priced. His attention to detail and professionalism were second to none. He communicated with us promptly about the decisions that needed to be made, and offered helpful suggestions without pressuring us. He answered our questions and concerns honestly. We finished on budget and ahead of schedule. His crew was considerate and fast. I would highly recommend Whiteside to family and friends. read more

Dave Whiteside and his crew did a very high quality, professional, timely, clean job on our 150 ft retaining wall. We are very happy with the outcome and the smooth process from start to finish. Thank you for the excavation and concrete pumping job. The reinforcement and finishing on the work is fantastic. So happy we went with your company. We have worked with many GCs in the bay area and none have been quite as all encompassing as this company is. I have been able to work with them to do rebar work, paving for our sidewalk, and a concrete pour for our pool. They are extremely versatile in the services they provide, and if they don't do it they're happy to point you in the right direction. Truly experts in their field and I'm so grateful for that because our home turned out gorgeously. I didn't think they would be willing to work on our projects because they were smaller scale from the ones they usually do, but they made us feel at home in the process and helped us through the entire thing. We modeled a lot of the work based on another project they've done, see my picture attached, to add concrete as a structural element to the home. I appreciate all the hard work put in and how everything has turned out. read more

We were looking to find a company that was licensed, insured, and bonded and Whiteside was completely up to par in all of those fields. We used Whiteside Construction for retaining services and foundation services for our offices commercial work as well as our homes pool deck construction. We were able to use them for excavation services and then followed up with the concrete pumping, shotcrete and concrete work, and reinforcement. The job was finished beautifully and they followed up and took extra care to make sure everything was done perfectly. The project manager Dave was extremely knowledgeable about all the work needed to be done, and he told me he's been an expert witness on the job for many construction cases. His expertise really showed in having the job turn out well. They were able to have great and competitor pricing for the plans I provided for them, and they responded much more quickly to my request for an estimate than any other company has. Job went without any difficulties and we are beyond glad we went with Whiteside for our projects. read more

I hired Whiteside Construction for the homes I was helping renovate in San Rafael, Mill Valley, and San Francisco. When I first started planning the renovation in Mill Valley I did not have any plans, so Whiteside Construction directed me to a company that helped me draw up plans for a new finishing on a driveway, pavement, and backyard gondola. Whatever they couldn't help me with - they helped me find the right person to finish the job. They were completely consistent with how they said they could help me out with the remodel- and the results turned out beautifully. I first heard about Whiteside Construction because they did a lot of work for UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco, where many of my colleagues attended school and saw the work. I looked into their previous jobs and projects at BioMarin, Marin General, and Macy's Union Square and was shocked I haven't heard about them before- seeing that it seems they were truly a Bay Area and especially Marin county staple. In my research I found that they are Union with United Contractors and are a part of Marin Builders Association, and are colleagues with my neighbors. All in all I am glad we went with Whiteside as they have made all of our renovations not only affordable but beautiful, and I couldn't be more thrilled on how the projects have turned out. Flipping houses have never been so easy and profitable. read more

Pros: Easy process, quick to respond, and good prices. Dave was a great help to get me the help that I needed. Whiteside Construction is an immaculate firm for all your concrete, shotcrete, or rebar needs! The team really makes sure to communicate and discuss what kind of work you want being done. My mother wanted to remodel the backyard to add a pool and concrete stairs down the back, and we contacted Whiteside Construction based on the good reviews. I didn't originally have plans for the job, so they connected me with someone they knew could help me get those created for me first. Once I had plans created, Dave came out and evaluated the job, and I truly felt like I could trust him. We have been putting off this backyard remodel for years, and I'm so glad we finally ended up completing it and going with Whiteside. Since we were new to this, he walked us through the process and was helpful in answering our questions. My mother and I are really appreciative of Dave and his patience with our numerous questions. His suggestions were also great showing that he's well experienced in this field. Dave came out and gave his options on everything that my mother wanted to see, They showed pictures of previous work they have done and it was around the same lines of work she wanted. After discussing/finalizing the ideas and detail we arranged for the work to be done. The project was quick, simple, and professional in such a timely manner. They are flexible with time schedules and the prices are reasonable for the mass amount of work being done. The team does not disappoint and I will recommend them to my friends and other relatives. The craftmanship shows in their work 100%! read more

My family has worked with Whiteside Construction for many years now. This review is more about the character of the owner and employees rather than the work, but their work really does speak for itself. They have always done incredible jobs on our residential sites and the commercial jobs I've seen of theirs is great. However, this review is really just to highlight how great Dave is, and the whole crew that works on our site. The work ethic of the crew is the best I have seen of any construction company. Dave's personality is really what keeps us coming back- he is always looking out for his customers. He's is very kind and genuine to us and wants to achieve the best result for us, which is hard to find in this industry. Save yourself the trouble and time and look no further for your construction or contractor projects. Dave is your guy and Whiteside Construction is the place to go. read more

I would 100% go with Whiteside Construction for any of your concrete or shotcrete needs. I am writing on behalf of my parents and myself included because they did such an incredible job on our driveway. The work is extremely smooth, zero cracks, and it's a job well done in my books for sure. We were recommended to Whiteside Construction by family friends and we were not disappointed. They treat you like family throughout the entire process and make sure you are satisfied with the result. I was shocked how great and efficient the customer service was because I know they work on many important and big projects. Looking through their portfolio I saw they worked on Ghirardelli Square, Twitter, Lyft, and Apple Headquarters, and UCSF and Marin General hospitals. With jobs that big you would believe they wouldn't have time to put in the care that they did, but they made sure we were satisfied and I couldn't be happier with the result. Thank you so much Whiteside! read more

Could not recommend Whiteside Construction more. Great recommendation in the CA Bay Area for good reason. Great management, great culture, and naturally turns out great projects. Owner Dave works with integrity and is very comfortable to work with. I feel totally at ease that they will complete the job to the best possible ability as well as keep the workers safe. Their commitment to safety, especially during COVID is unmatched among the rest of the industry. They make safety part of the culture. The company and employees are also total experts in their field. I began working with them because of the pictures I've attached here, I saw a project that they worked on where they poured excellent concrete work, and I knew I could depend on them for my own job. They are adaptable, have a diverse portfolio, and extremely experienced. read more

My family and I could not have better things to say about Whiteside Construction. Moving from Southern California to the Bay Area was nerve wracking for us for so many reasons but most of all because we knew we would have to find a company to take on our new home renovations. We are so thankful we found Whiteside Construction because they are making our transition so much more pleasant than we could have imagined. As a company they are extremely professional, genuine, honest, and fair which is a breath of fresh air. We had heard of the company through word of mouth recommendations and checked out some of their work including the incredible seismic work done in the Ferry Building in San Francisco, and so many of the Bay Area landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center and Twitter Sky Bridge. What sealed the deal was meeting with the owner of the company, Dave Whiteside. All in all, a wonderful company that treats employees really well, we witnessed it first hand. They have been extremely efficient in getting work done. What really put my mind at ease was that they have been Ucon Real Safety winners for 5 years in a row as of 2019. I know a lot of people have so many worries and hesitations starting a new project in a new place but I am so excited to see the outcome! read more

If you're looking for a super helpful, awesome concrete, shotcrete, or rebar contractor - look no further. Dave has been an invaluable partner for my sister and I. My sister is a new home owner, and he has helped us to create a far more enjoyable backyard via a beautiful new concrete deck. We are located in Marin and couldn't be happier with the result, and I felt that they were maintaining the best possible safety measures during this time of COVID-19. Everyone was working together properly, social distancing, and wore masks and stood six feet apart when they needed to talk to us. Dave was with us every step of the way during our residential plans, and I know the new commercial jobs he is working on are super awesome too - working in Salesforce Tower, I saw all the beautiful concrete artistry that his company had conducted. They really know how to make it an awesome work of art. We have plans to continue working with him on additional projects. All of his work has been top notch and very timely. My favorite aspect is the time he spends helping us to better understand the scope of the project and how he thinks about it given our input. It really helps us feel more involved and able to make final decisions. I would strongly recommend working with Whiteside Construction. Don't hesitate to reach out & get connected with Dave! He is awesome and so is the work that they do. read more

We contacted the team at Whiteside Construction for retaining wall repairs at our business at the recommendation of a friend who had used them in the past. From the minute I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate, Dave was able to accommodate my schedule- which is very much appreciated. The project manager that came out to the property very knowledgeable, detail oriented, and patient. Pricing was in line with another contractor we had used previously, but we went with Whiteside Construction since their team could start the repairs sooner. At the end of the day, we couldn't be happier with the results of the repairs (and no complaints or issues with my landlord during the post-work inspection). Their professionalism and how above and beyond they went was impeccable. We're beyond satisfied with their work and will be contacting them sooner than expected for their services once again- this time to refinish an antique wood bar. Thanks again for the quick turnaround! read more

I found Whiteside Construction through the Marin Builders Association and also found out they were a member of United Contractors, which was a huge plus. My family and I decided to use them for the improvements on our bay area home because of the positive reviews we had heard from others and because they were a union group. We were happy to support the company in that sense, and we are so glad that we did! They helped us make a better economic choice in using shotcrete to build our back deck area, and put a concrete deck reaching out. It was not an easy feat. The before and after picture is insane. Please see attached for it and you will be amazed. The plans we had drawn up beforehand were great and Whiteside was able to really see our vision and far surpassed our expectations. The reality of how the project turned out was unbelievable, and less closely than we had originally thought it was going to be. Thanks for your hard work to the whole team, especially Michelle and Dave who always made us feel like we were their number one customer. If you have any retrofitting needs, shotcrete needs, concrete needs, paving, slab work, reinforcement... list goes on, make sure you have Whiteside do it! read more

Whiteside Construction Corporation - Before and After! - General Contractors Near Me - Richmond, California

If I could give 15 stars I would. I called 4 contractors to bid on the job, and while their number was similar to another company's, I ended up going with Whiteside Construction because I met Dave. Dave Whiteside is the owner and estimates many of the jobs himself, always making sure the job looks perfect at the end and goes smoothly. From start to finish, his foreman was extremely easy to deal with and very accommodating to the needs of my business. It was a challenge doing the seismic work while the business was open but his construction crew did an amazing job and we didn't receive any complaints about the ongoing work. It's hard to find a trustworthy, reliable and upfront contractor. But I'm so glad I found Whiteside Construction team as they were able to complete the project in a timely manner and got everything passed in the city. With no hesitation, I would gladly work with Whiteside for any building's seismic upgrade. I also wanted to make a note that we used them a separate time a year ago for rebar and a different pour as well for residential work. The degree of detail that went into building the forms, the rebar and the pouring and smoothing of the cement was far higher. He and his crew are highly skilled in all aspects of building, but maneuvering that bulldozer into, around and back outside of the house was only bested by how well his crew put together a very complex rebar puzzle that amazed everyone. Dave worked with rebar, forms, and concrete like an artisan. They are extremely professional, a part of Marin Builder Exchange and United Contractors, so a union group and treats their employees very well. I originally found Dave from the Marin Builders Exchange as he is another Marin, Bay Area family that is trusted and well respected in the industry. read more

Dave was super awesome to work with and provided great customer service. Impressive use of shotcrete and rebar. Doing lots of great work thought out the Bay Area, referred here by our friend and so glad we chose to work with and will keep using them on future projects! read more

We could not be happier with Whiteside Construction, this is a company that you can trust. We got plans drawn up for our commercial project, we submitted an estimate request via the website and received an email from the project coordinator that day. The project coordinator helped get our plans to the estimator, who sent us a bid within a week. We received bids from 3 different companies for our project and chose Whiteside because of their awesome leadership team and all of the company's previous experience. The owner Dave was flexible in setting up a meeting to discuss the project. When we met with him, he was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. You could absolutely tell he was an expert in his field and knew what he was talking about. In comparison to other companies, he was not trying to sell us products or push his agenda whatsoever. He carefully listened to what we wanted and offered us different solutions for each of our needs with the new building. The price was very reasonable for the mass amount of work that we had planned to get done. I checked out his website before booking him and was definitely sold beforehand because of his incredible jobs that he's worked on before. I knew from that site he would be great to work with our building in San Francisco as he's clearly done a lot of previous work there. We were pleased with what we saw and decided to move forward with Whiteside Construction. His team was very professional and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I would definitely work with him again. Not to mention the ending product was perfect, the concrete turned out smooth, straight, and consistent. Exceptional work, done on time and on budget. Couldn't ask for more. read more

Whiteside installed new foundations for an office expansion. They responded quickly to my request for an estimate, provided the estimate in a timely manner, and kept in contact concerning the estimate. When I approved the contract, I could tell they were very busy, but they fit the job into my schedule. The work proceeded quickly and efficiently, concrete cutting, demolition, excavation, and rebar installation. Anthony, the foreperson, coordinated with the special inspector and the city inspector and my contractor. The concrete pour went without a hitch. Job was done with no delays. Now I have my nice, pretty foundation. Also thanks to Diego and the crew for any extra tasks required to keep the job running smoothly. read more

I called Dave at Whiteside Construction as I needed to redo my driveway and conduct some seismic improvements in the foundation of my second home that is located in the Bay Area. Not knowing anything about construction, I knew that I would be in the best hands because all of my friends told me to go to this company. I knew they had done high profile jobs with their website and many of my friends driveways, rebar, upgrades, etc. I reached out and could not be happier with how the project went. Dave responded quickly within a very timely manner and was able to get onsite starting the project within a month. The team performed their work diligently and quickly and always showed up on time, and I felt very safe even during COVID considering the employees were always wearing masks and were 6 feet apart whenever possible. I knew that they were being very diligent about not bringing it into or near my home and that it was very important in the procedural work. With Dave's vast experience in Concrete Construction I felt very confident in his ability to perform the job and it turned out very well. The pricing was very fair for the amount of work required, and it was right around where I had budgeted it to be. Thank you team Whiteside and Dave - I will definitely recommend your services to anyone who asks. read more
