I can't believe this company is still business after all off these negative experiences and reviews. We purchased a 60" bifold door from HDW for our new build in Joshua Tree, CA. It came with a defective locking mechanism that never worked. We've been trying to get a new locking mechanism from HDW for over six months now, dating back to April 2025. The funny thing is, I've talked to three associates starting with Zara, then Amir and finally David. Zara (I believe the receptionist) who did all she could to get the warehouse to ship me the part. When that didn't happen, she put me in touch with Amir & David. When I got hold of David, he's made repeated promises to get me the replacement locking mechanism only to experience at least six false promises. It's a waste of time and energy. You or your contractor wouldn't appreciate it. They get an angry 4 's from me! The money I would have saved, I have lost due to lack of communication, incorrect items shipped, and broken promises. My experience with HDW is limited, but I have to say, David was great. I needed doors for a project and was working with Jay, who was new, at the Van Nuys store. I gave him the specs, which included "nail in" application and ordered a door in stock to have picked up at the Montrose location. Unfortunately, when the door was delivered to the site, it was not nail in framed, and we could not use it. David accepted the return, and too the closer store, no problem. His driver took it back to Montrose, saving us an additional hour drive and I was refunded in full. I read the reviews before ordering, and I see that a few call out David for his service, but I had nothing but fast phone response and good service. I think they might have growing pains/staffing problems, but all companies are. It is the fact that they worked with us to correct a problem that matters and why my experience was great. Bought a 5-ft bifold door from this company. We cannot get it installed . The door handle mechanism would not install properly, was defective. This company has been completely totally unresponsive to our many many emails and calls. Just seems criminal or something... I purchased 2 doors and 1 window from HDW in September. Fast forward to January, one morning we heard a loud pop coming from one of the doors, and the interior glass on one of the panels shattered. After contacting a glass company, they explained that poor materials or defects in the glass could cause this, especially when temperature differences between the inside and outside create stress on the glass. The doors are supposedly covered by a 10-year warranty, but despite reaching out to HDW multiple times, I've just been given the runaround. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that doesn't stand behind its products or honor its warranty. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

Atrocious. Do not buy from HDW Doors. We purchased a bifold window from them in October 2024. It's now June 2025. I am still dealing with the fallout of that purchase. The window was $3600 and we can't fully install and use it still. We received the window and the screen with no installation instructions. I contacted them multiple times for instructions which they said they would request from China and then never received anything. Finally I was sent a blurry video showing installation of a screen which was not the one we had or the window frame scenario I asked about and sent pictures of. Being unable to fully install and use the window and screen, I asked for information to return the window and screen. They never provided information on how to return it. They have like 3 different numbers to call that no one ever answers. They never answer their email. They will respond to text sometimes, to tell you they'll get back to you, and then they never do. When I called 6 times in one day trying to get someone to answer the phone and provide an address for me to ship the window back to, they texted me and said I was bothering them and they didn't have to provide any information for the return of the window because I was the one who wanted to return it, not them. This company is a SCAM!! Ordered two sets of doors....was only sent 3 doors out of 4 & every time I called they said they would call me back .Never did. I attempted several times with several different phones and also had different people call as they would never answer when I called. I paid over $6000 for these doors and now they are useless. I placed an order for five complete fence sets from the HDW Door Van Nuys location. Each set included two posts and a middle section filled with aluminum planks. Unfortunately, the order was significantly delayed, taking 20 weeks to arrive instead of the 8 weeks initially quoted. When I expressed my concerns about the delay to the sales representative, Mr. Tiru, he informed me that the order would be delivered very soon. Upon receiving the initial shipment, I found that I had been sent only 5 posts, not the 10 I had expected based on the order details. When I contacted Mr. Tiru to clarify, he instructed me to come to the office at 10 am to pick up the remaining posts. However, this time did not work for me, and he said he would call me back. Three days later, I followed up with Mr. Tiru, and he asked me to come now if possible to collect the additional posts. When I arrived, he informed me that the posts were not actually at that location and that I would need to go to the Figueroa location to pick them up. I expressed my frustration, as I had been told to come to the Van Nuys office. Despite the confusion, Mr. Tiru promised that the next delivery truck in my area would bring the remaining posts directly to me. While I was still upset by the poor communication and logistical issues, I appreciated his effort to resolve the situation. As I was leaving, Mr. Tiru asked if I would like to place an order for two additional fence sets that said I might need. I said is that why you said to come now? He started to laugh??? Given the challenges I had experienced with the initial order, I was hesitant to proceed with a further purchase at that time. Overall, the ordering and delivery process for this purchase was disappointing and lacked the level of professionalism I would expect from any company . I hope that HDW Door can improve its communication and logistics to provide a better customer experience in the future. As far as the posts go I'm still waiting and nobody is picking the phone or calling me back. I would never purchase anything from HDW doors. I ordered a 16' bifold door and the lock mechanism wasn't working. Besides promises to send me a new handle and have the mechanism fixed, we are still waiting since July to have one of the bifold panels fixed. right now the door doesn't close. Ordered Doors that showed in Stock 2 weeks ago. Even still no tracking update! $10,000 already received by them! I called yesterday and was told they would call back with update. No call back and never even followed up. I reached out again today because panicked with Monday coming up and NO DOORS ! Every contractor already scheduled. If 1 fails it's a complete snowball because there's a set structure of each contractor in order. This is now causing me to cancel 4 Contractors! Completely has wiped out my entire Deadlines! Framer was set to start modifying walls Monday! So so frustrated! I was told they was out of stock and that's why it took to Long but as of right this minute same exact Doors are still showing 11 in Stock! This entire time not once have they showed up Out Of Stock! Ordered 2 expensive doors in early December 2024 and my credit card was charged for the full amount immediately. I was notified by email shortly thereafter that the doors would be shipped the next week. The doors did not arrive, and over the next 3 weeks multiple false promises of shipment were made over the phone. HDW then ghosted me by email and would not answer phone calls. Only after I notified them by email that I was disputing the credit card charge did they respond back, claiming that they were ready to ship the doors but now could not due to the charge being disputed. I wonder if they ever ordered either of the doors. Very poor experience. Fortunately I was able to quickly dispute the CC charge with email proof that they promised but did not deliver. My suggestion- if you make the mistake of ordering from them, after the first failed promise, cancel the order and dispute the CC charge IMMEDIATELY. If you wait, it will be harder and harder to dispute the charge and in the meantime, you have to pay your credit card charge from them. read more

I ordered four folding widows from HDW and specifically stated that I needed the folding windows shipped the next day as they were going cross country from LA to Atlanta and I needed the job finished. The Doors were not shipped for over a week. When they finally came in, only one door was shipped out of the four needed to finish the job. We immediately called and inquired and were told it was a shipping mistake . Three days later I was still trying to get the windows shipped only to be insulted by David who asked "do you speak English" as I kept advising the importance of shipping on time. Terrible customer service. The office number is next to impossible to get a response from and at times goes into David's cell phone. SHOESTRING OPERATION in my opinion. I cancelled the order and asked for my approx. $14,000 to be refunded and the one widow to be picked up. No refund yet. read more

f there was a way to give no stars, that would be the right selection. This business is a sham and makes fraudulent claims (David, I'm talking to you!). They claim on their website and via phone that they have certain product in stock in order to get your business. Then once you've chosen them over other businesses with similar timelines and you've paid your 50% deposit, they come up with all kinds of excuses ("the doors weren't on the shipment they were supposed to be on!" is one. When you remind them they said they had them "in stock" they claim they never said that). When your windows are weeks late and they're telling you they are still being manufactured and you have to raise your voice and swear and threaten to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau because your entire build is now waiting on them, they say they're delivering THAT WEEK. Even though it's several weeks late you think - "well, it's better than reordering from another vendor who will take another month." So you wait. They then deliver late of course, and when you review the merchandise you see that it's only half the number of windows you ordered, and not one of them is the right size or the right product. They just sent you a hodgepodge of what they had in stock to buy time. Total waste of time and FRAUD of a business. Go anywhere but here. read more

If you are in LA and can find the product you need in the warehouse right away, this maybe a reasonable option. Under no circumstances buy anything from HDW Doors if it isn't right there. The business responds with "this week for sure it will come" endlessly, lying about container manifests. They have no idea when it will arrive. I was promised delivery in 2-3 weeks and waited almost 4 months and had to pick it up myself. They lied about delivery as well, making us wait at home two days in a row fully knowing they never dispatched the delivery truck. Not sure how they are still in business read more

This company is absolutely terrible. They don't even deserve 1 star! I drove a total of 4 hours to their warehouse to purchase a 12' bifold glass door that they said was in stock. It was not! So, they ordered one for me and when it was delivered and installed, it was incorrect. The daily use door was on the opposite side that it was supposed to be on. It ruins the whole design and it interferes with our fireplace. All they do is give me the run around! David, supposedly the owner has done nothing to remedy this.
