Completely unreliable. Set an appointment for a Thursday for them to install a retractable screen door. They never showed up. Called them and they said the appointment was actually for the next Thursday. I said okay, that wasn't what we'd discussed, but everyone makes mistake. And guess what, they did not show up. Again. I used to like using this company but I feel like their inconsistency and lack of communication has only forced me to write an honest review despite me really trying to give the benefit of the doubt. I'm still hoping I get a text/call from Raphael/Rafael to let me know what's going on before I click post on this, but even after my last inquiry with them, I have gone unanswered for more than a week. I understand being busy and for the most part if you give me a date a few weeks out, then I will be happy to take it. But please respect my time and efforts the same way I respect your busy schedule and show up to your scheduled appointment. This has happened on more than one occasion where my day and time was wasted only to get no type of call that they cancelled, cant go, or are running behind. After I inquired as to why no one showed I got an apology but no reschedule, no attempt to even go. The previous time before this, they showed up 5 hours after the time they provided. Other companies have a service call minimum. At that point your better off paying their service over wasting 5 hours for someone to not show up. I'd rather the company say "I can't do it" over wasting MY time. What's worse is I have provided them business time and time again, and like I said, I liked them. But they clearly don't care about business relations. They clearly don't care to answer calls, respond to inquiries or follow thru on scheduled appoitnments. Take your business elsewhere. If you were referred by Westcoast Sliding Glass Repair (who is amazing by the way for sliding glass door needs), go elsewhere. I was referred to Phantom Screens/Peninsula Screens by a close friend who has several apartment buildings and rental homes. When I needed a screen I called them. I got an appointment just one day out, they came by and measured and the next day came back to build the screens right in front of my house from their work van. We needed to install 2 screens for our big windows at the office. I've contacted multiple businesses for quotes. I don't know why it was so difficult for us to find a window screen business. They all didn't serve our area or couldn't do our project. I gave Peninsula Mobile Screens a call for consultation and they came out right away to take measurements and provided us the quote the day after. I took one star off because there were some communication issues and delays. They said the screens will be finished by Monday July 19th, 2PM. They said they're here outside our office but they were at a different location. I was able to understand the problem because there's another address that's the same as ours, just different zip code. I guess the guy that took our measurements forgot to write down the zip code. After figuring out the location issue, the guy on the phone was saying it'll take an hour to get to the right place but they made it sound like it was my fault for not giving them the right address so I told them "You guys have been here before." And he seemed very confused. So I gave him my estimate number and he was telling me it must've been his son that took the measurements for the office and that the screen was not even ready. So we had to reschedule for installation Wednesday July 21. Besides the miscommunication, we got the screens in. They were quick with the job and it looks great. read more

Unprofessional. Set a time for an appointment via text. Confirmed that appointment date and time; only to have the company say it was another time, and I was wrong. Literally, a text chain confirming the time. And they didn't have the professionalism to own up to it, just kept accusing me of getting the time wrong. I'm totally dumbfounded! And I couldn't be happier! Here's why: Friday night, just before midnight, I accidentally kicked the screen out of the frame and knocked my retractable slider door off of the track. I tried to fix it, but only made things worse. Needless to say, I was super bummed out. Fast-forward ... I found Peninsula (Google search) and called them at 11:30 AM, Saturday morning. They answered, said they were close by, and could be here in about 10 minutes! I'm like, ... Wow! Great! UNBELIEVABLY (documented by my RING doorbell), Rodrigo (and associate) arrived at 11:46 AM, assessed the damage, made a trip out to their truck at 11:48 AM, then meticulously repaired EVERYTHING, better than new! They wouldn't even take my money until AFTER I inspected the screen and operated the slider! They departed at 11:58 AM. Less than a half hour to find Peninsula, get a house call, and complete the job! That was WELL beyond my wildest expectations! I should have known when they showed up an hour late for their estimate appointment to go with someone else - especially since they didn't even bother to let us know they would be late. Then when they arrived they were like: "oh yeah, sorry". Hoping it was a fluke thing. SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS! Kicking myself as I type this...... we ordered the screen door, and they are 2 HOURS LATE for their installation appointment. We called, and again: "yeah, we have to pick up the screen, we'll be there [around] noon" (for a 9:30 am appointment). So now, since I've read the reviews, I will be watching them install, like a hawk, and will learn from my mistakes to READ THE REVIEWS FIRST!!! I do NOT recommend Rafael and Peninsula Screens at all. They charged me for the full job and it's been 26 days and have not finished the work. They are now not returning my calls. I asked to install 2 large sliding screen doors on a double track. On initial install day they cancelled last minute saying they received the wrong parts. Then arrived without returning my calls the next week to install, a surprise, and still did not have the right parts. They proceeded to install the doors with 1/2 of the track missing. So we can NOT open our doors completely. Also one of the sliders has poorly installed mesh that's popping out when they installed it. I made a huge mistake trusting them and paying the full amount. I was referred to this company by West Coast Sliding door who serviced my sliding doors but yet doesn't touch sliding screens. Back in October I was told it was a $120 service charge to come out. SURE! I don't care how much I have to pay I want my screen doors to work!!!! Here we are in December and I still can't get ahold of this company after multiple rounds of text and phone tag. If you don't ACTUALLY repair doors and only want to sell new doors FINE! TELL ME THAT AND I'LL BUY NEW DOORS FROM YOU!!!!!! We've had 3 screen doors installed by Rafael, and have been very happy with the service and price. He just set up the third one, a security door, this morning. I called Rafael on Tuesday afternoon, he asked me to come to his house in the evening to see a sample of an installed security door similar to the one we wanted. At 7pm the same day, he also came round to measure the door. This morning (Friday), he installed it. I originally went to Tashman since I saw the door I wanted on their site. I thought only they carried that specific door, but their customer service was so bad that I tried Rafael to see if he could get that door which he could. I was quoted $875 by Tashman and paid $450 today for the EXACT SAME DOOR! Unbelievable that Tashman is still in business, what a ripoff. Highly recommend Peninsula/Rafael. read more
