My first time eating Turkish food and what a great introduction! Ordered off a set group menu so had the opportunity of tasting many of the dishes they had to offer. For my main meal had aubergine and lamb which was delicious. As we were a large group we had our own room which was very nice. read more

This is a great Turkish restaurant located right beside the Thames river. The salad was very fresh with quite many unique and balanced herbs, the lamb dish was delicious food, we really enjoyed and a great addition to our trip in London. read more

I really liked Hazev, it was a great place to go for coffee and snacks, food was good, but the standout is definitely their desserts. Service left a lot to be desired but that could be said for many UK restaurants. I would recommend trying their: Baklava - melts in your mouth and so addictive Chocolate cake (I know, what's so special about chocolate cake, but this cake is to die for!) it was my friends graduation and we chose to come here after the ceremony to have dinner. The food was fantastic, I mean absolutely 100% authentic and very very well served, tasty and I would recommend it to anyone. The interior is simple and not overtly oriental (Arabesk) a balanced fusion. There is a wonderful water front view, but it seems they have managed to add little things that perhaps would not have been in the original design. there were little flower baskets and deflating balloons amongst the plants. There were flashing Xmas lights along the railings outside. It just made me cringe. Sorry guys in this might work in Turkey but not London. Generally clean but the toilets were not unfortunately. The service from booking to our good bye was efficient and very well organized. The staff were polite and courteous, except for our waiter who seemed to be rushed off his feet and not so polite, repeating the names of the dishes back to us in a very Turkish accent which made my friends feel uncomfortable as though they had annoyed him by saying it the wrong way. Not everyone knows how to read Turkish Mr Hazev, not even if its now written in Roman/Latin alphabet. We took the group menu, which was a mix of starters, and we had to choose the main courses, The food was fantastic, the best Turkish food I have eaten in the UK and Holland. The Turkish coffee unfortunately was flat, not enough froth on the top but still tasty so I wont complain. I will be going again very soon but this time with a much more casual approach and not as formal as we had imagined it to be. I rated it a 4 only because of the waiter, the dirty toilets, the general up keeping of the initial design concept, and the flat coffee otherwise they would get a 5 for sure. read more

I used to like coming here but the past few times I have come the staff are rude. There is no sense of service or that you are welcome to dine here. I have been here many times in the past dressed from suited canary wharfer to casual weekender. I just give up with this place now. There are far better places. Food is ok but overpriced. read more

Since my favorite Turkish restaurant in London closed down, I would have to say this place is the closest that it comes to Ozer so for me this is now The Best Turkish Restaurant in London - Beautiful Views, Delicious Food, nice clean white table cloth and sitting outside during summer is heavenly too! read more

Good ambience, decent bar but average food. There is a lack of a clear identity on what kind of food they want to serve.

Nothing too exciting in terms of food or atmosphere, but it is just tasty and hearty Turkish food. It has a wide selection of hot and cold meze dishes which are ideal for sharing. The vegetarian mushrooms with cheese main dish is my personal favourite. The place also has a cafe and a bar area so quite convenient for many occasions. The restaurant is quite big so service is not great (i.e. takes a bit of time to order/ get your food, etc), but staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Hello This review is directed to the private room in Hazev Canary Wharf. I do not gain any benefit from giving you this feedback, and it is hazev who would benefit from this and I'm going extra mile to take my time and express my disastrous experience of the customer service - a service I have not come across before. We felt the min cost of £500 for a private room was not justified at all. Very poor customer service, no planning and attention to the details and ignorance from staff including the manager looked after us on the day and still despite a very poor service we have been charged fully ( for service that has been accepted by general manager that it was disastrous on 8th Aug 2016). The quality of service may be one of the reasons why this restaurant cant reach its full potential. 2 hours service has been stretched to 4 hours purely because of the mismanagement of the service overall. In average there was 30 min wait between each step of the basic need of customer service. There were no planning or thought put together to accommodate the BAU demand of the restaurant as well as + private room on weekend day. Clearly no care for 'word of mouth recommendations' many restaurants thrive for. This place can not be recommended to none of the friends and vice versa will be strongly discouraged. No one has taken a responsibility or accountably for service of the private room. No one came around to make sure guests have everything they needed - clearly no one cares of the customer experience. Set up for 12 people has been requested however 10 was set up on our arrival - clearly there is no attention to details. It's been requested to bring bottles of wine as basic on the table - none arrived until we wandered what happened to them - clearly waiter had not been briefed in by mangers in advanced or anything at all. No one came in to us taking orders for drinks for 30 min - we had to ask personally for someone to come and take orders from guests. No common sense of basic service. After 1st round of drink service we have not had anyone asking if we needed a top up till end of the dinner. Not mentioning that no one even bothered offering tea or coffee as per the part of the set menu of the private room - to which we have been charged fully. There were 3 pots of bread served on the table to 12 people - we had to personally ask someone to bring to the rest of the guests. Very poor service. The starters were not calculated for 12people -it was for 6 people and therefore over priced unnecessarily. The variety was limited in little quantities. Guests felt uncomfortable and dissatisfying. Manager looking after the room arranged only 1person to serve the dinner to 12people - by the time the waiter finished, everyone else's food was cold and unpleasant to eat. This was beyond what a street cafe could offer service. There were no attention to kid's need at all, they had to wait for 15 min to get a ketchup, which meant to be a basic compliment to the fish with bespoke top up after it finishes off.There were no supply of kids play books or no arrangements of kids menu. We personally agreed with the ignorant manager ( who also was finding hard to communicate) to serve the cake in 5 min after the desert (which came with no coffee or tea) - clearly this has need ignored, we had to again search for someone to bring the cake in. After bringing the cake we had to wait for 20min for someone to bring plates then 15 min to bring forks. You can see where the service of 2 hours had stretched to 4 hours. Plates were put on the pile and not individually in front of the guests - all turned out to be a self service, for which we have been charged too. After investigating the social media and reviews, I understand that the branch has not been popular with reviews either and we are not the only once that have felt that the high cost were not justifiable at all and do not match industry standards. My second attempt to this restaurant after a very dissapointing first. This time I recognize most of the Turkish dish after my trip to istanbul. For starter, we ordered prawn in garlic, tomatoish sauce. Ordered the lamb shank and stuffed squid as main. All good except the stuffed squid not the best, not as tasty as we thought. For dessert, we ordered milk rice pudding and kadayif with walnut (rather than pistachio) again very dissapointing, overly sweet, the cinnamon overpower the dessert and it doesn't taste good in general. Not sure if I have tasted the real thing that's why I have something to compare to but for sure there is room for improvement to bring the local taste to London. As for service, have to say it is very bad. We were guided to our table and after the main, basically we have to catch the attention of several waiters passing by us to bring us water, dessert menu and bill. It is quite annoying because we are sitting right at the place where it leads to the kitchen door. I will not strongly recommend this restaurant to my friends but I guess is a quick fix for Turkish food.... read more

Went out for dinner for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised by the location as you can have a view of the river. Interior design was beautiful and the presentation overall was good. However, it was packed and service did take some time ( definitely book in advance especially for a Friday or Saturday). When the food came, it was delicious and they were courteous as it was delayed. The restaurant also has a cafe attached so you can just enjoy Turkish snacks and tea. read more

Went there last night for a family dinner. Food is good, liked the place, but the service is terrible. When you have an unpronounceable menu and waiters who hardly speak English, you are reduced to pointing at each dish you want to order on the menu and putting up with the condescension worthy of a French Mechlin star restaurant. And who serves tea in the smallest cup even without a pot? I ordered earl grey but neither saw the tea bag (or leaves) nor did I get a pot. Now was I even asked if I wanted milk/lemon with it. How do they know how strong I like my tea? I need to see the leaves/teabag and decide for myself. I only ordered earl grey because the waiter couldn't confirm if the Turkish tea came with fresh mint (as it should). I would go again for the food (although I have had more authentic and much better Turkish food - in Istanbul, where they do the Iskender dish with shawarma/donner meat rather than kebab meat/mixed grill). read more

I visited Hazev's with 3 friends for dinner. We liked the appearance inside and out, and the service was very good, but what a disappointment the food was. The starters were ok. I had Calamari, my friends had the mezze to share. My main course was lamb in foil, which I expected to be similar to what I've eaten in Greece and Turkey, which would have been a substantial piece of lamb cooked with vegetables and potato. But mine was very tiny slivers of lamb cooked in onions, peppers and tomatoes. One friend had the lamb shank which was served with the same sort of sauce, another friend had chicken which was served in the same sauce as the others. It appears that they have this base sauce which is served with everything. Not nice at all. The only redeeming quality was that because they had forgotten to bring our wine, which we had to remind them, it was offered complimentary. The final straw was the so called music, which was screachy, jazz type style.I wouldn't eat there again. read more
