Great local spot. I'm from clarkston but live in SF now. Every time I am home visiting, Hazels is a must. I always get the goulash. Can't remember what it is called but has hash browns, eggs, sausage, and veggies. Get it every time because it is so dang delicious! I have been here twice now and boy , they do not disappoint. Husband likes breakfast but I like lunch, so it's the best of both worlds for us. We have loved all the food! Hazel's HAS been a decent place to get breakfast or lunch but as of late it's been just a little dated. The service here has always been steady, no problems in the help they hire. Food quality has been better, our most recent visit was so-so at best. The afore mentioned Corned Beef Hash was merely a shredded roast of corned beef plopped on top of some hash-browns. Seasonings? Non-existent. Corned beef? Stringy and bland. Eggs? They were fine but I didn't order over-easy, (not sure if any cook in this town knows how to cook an over-medium egg.) Black scrapings from a dirty grill? Check, they were in there. The decor has become old & cliche'. The upholstery in the booths had rips & tears in at least three seats in sight of me. Why would you allow a patron to sit in a torn seat when you can deduct business expenses from your taxes? I could go on but I think you get the point. read more

This place was fun...Popped in for bfast.. was weird decor but very unique...it was fun...lots of senior in there and had a blast taking it all in...the food was pretty good staff was excellent but the highlight was a senior couple sitting in table next to us...another couple join them shortly after they arrived...as they chit chatted the 1st couple (lady) said "Henry is such a sweetie" other lady questioned why? Qst lady says "well I forgot my teeth and he was sweet enough to run out to car so I could eat this morning"....so our 1st visit to Hazel's was awesome! read more

We have been going to hazels for a while now and lately the service has been really bad it takes forever for them to fill coffee and take your order. And it would not be as big of a deal if they were busy but there was only two other tables and the waitress was just hanging out up front and not paying much attention to us. Yes it was a trip from Lewiston to Clarkston and Hazel's for breakfast. We had a variety of breakfast items, mine was bacon and eggs and potatoes, rye toast. All was perfect, the waitress was lovely and attentive. She should open a charm school. the signs and decor are fun and distracting. Signs such as "don't bother the waitress with your order" made us laugh at the wit displayed in this small, funky town on the border with Idaho. Go to Hazel's, lunch and breakfast, its good folks. read more

The food is very good, but the service not so much. Our food took quite a while, and then they messed up my friend's order (both the eggs and pancakes). It's a shame, because this was her last day of eating gluten. Our waitress never checked back, but another waitress eventually did. We got a half-hearted apology (my bad). read more

Came here on our mini thanksgiving vacation. We were actually trying to go to waffle n more but there wait line was about an hour. The personality of the servers was outstanding!! The food was delicious!! We were only in town for the weekend and ate here twice.

The first place we ate at when we visited the valley three years ago as we considered moving here. The interior is campy and cluttered, but a lot of folks like that, because it's loaded with nostalgia and kitsch, so kind of fun. Kids love it because there's lots to look at. Portion sizes are great for the price, and their reds (red potato "hash") are a signature item, and a great one at that. Cooks here know exactly how to cook eggs to order, having nailed every type we've ever asked for- from poached soft, over medium, fried, and everything in between. Bacon, when not ordered any special way, is delivered perfectly in the middle of crispy and soggy. But again, the cooks will make it to your liking. Service is always friendly and engaging. I definitely recommend it, and it's a great alternative to Waffles N' More across the river- with WAY more space and tables, so much quicker to be sat. read more

They have a waitress there who thinks she's being small town cutesy but to me, she's just extremely rude. I called about a delivery order from Mad Dash and she told me instantly to call them even though it was about the food. She didn't even give me a chance to talk. I ate there on a Monday with a friend and ordered a strawberry lemonade as well as onion rings. The lemonade had a lemon slice in the top of the glass and strawberry in the bottom. Took my wife there the very next day, ordered a strawberry lemonade and also onion rings. On Tuesday there was no lemon slice nor a strawberry in the bottom. BUT there was an awesome dip for the onion rings which wasn't there Monday. How can the same thing be so different on back to back days? Service was slow, food was great. read more

Ummmm... hmm. Well, I guess this is the best example of - don't judge a book by it's cover? We were looking for a diner spot for breakfast and arrived on Sunday morning at around 9:00am. It seemed as though we were there at just the right time, because there was a virtual flood of people coming in after us. Upon walking in, I was... confused? The interior is really... interesting? It feels like a tiki hut mixed with a children's playroom mixed with a restaurant. But! The place got great reviews and I typically love any kind of breakfast food, so we thought we should give it a try. I got the waffles and stuff, Josh got some kind of egg hash thing with a side of biscuits and gravy (I am always amazed by how much food some people can eat). Our server was fast and friendly, and our food was really good! It's what I was hoping for - kind of diner-esque, greasy spoon, no frills food. Everything came out hot and was really tasty! My only complaint is that the strawberries on my waffle were for sure frozen, but oh well... I suppose that goes with the theme of what I wanted anyway. My family recently tried out this place, but honestly, we did regret it. The place is very dated, but I wouldn't mind that if the food was good. Basically all our meals were tasteless with no seasonings at all, the sandwich was spongy, the hamburger meat absolutely just out of the freezer, etc. The only thing that was OK was the chicken strips for kids (adults didn't try that). This restaurant is a perfect place for a "Restaurant Impossible" show, I cannot recommend it, unfortunately. We also saw the cook behind the establishment when we left, and oh my goodness, how dirty clothes he was wearing. read more
