Our favorite eatery in Lewiston/Clarkston Valley!! The Taco 4 egg Omelet is the BEST omelet I've ever eaten. Hubby had the corn beef skillet and said it was amazing. But truly the best part of this place is the staff. They are friendly, efficient and the service is over the top. No flagging down a server for coffee refill needed here. I was craving good breakfast potatoes. I was checking out the latest reviews for Waffles 'n More, and one review mentioned Hazel's. After reading more, I decided to try it out. Walking in, I was immediately greeted and asked where I would like to sit. The restaurant is fun and kitschy, but it works. There's something to discover or read in nearly every corner. There are about 20 tables, so it is a small place. I visited early morning with some "regulars", but I imagine once 9am hits, it gets busy. The menu has a lot of fare; omelets, pancakes, french toast, breakfast meats and more. There are also lunch items. I ordered the chicken fried steak and opted for the red potatoes. When my food came out, it looked delicious. I cut into the chicken fried steak, which had plenty of gravy on top, and could still hear the crunch. The taste was perfect; not overwhelming with the gravy, but I could taste the meat. The potatoes were flavorful and so good. I'm so glad I chose these for my side. The toast was also thick and perfectly toasted. I left Hazel's impressed with the service and food, full and my entire breakfast was under $15.00. I'm glad I stopped by; I'll be back! read more

This place is a greasy spoon kind of establishment. We waited outside the restaurant until our table was ready and they had a nice outdoor seating area. They accommodated my stroller even though it was a tight fit in a corner booth. Loved the eggs Benedict here with red potatoes.. Got in town early for a Snake River Jet Boat adventure. Found Hazels was nearby. Great find. Hidden inside a white outside in a trip to fun town! Stuffed leopards, huge butterflies, blow fish, tiki huts, guy on a rope, and a delicious food restaurant. Got 2 egg, hash browns and corned beef skillet. Once, maybe twice a year I come to Clarkston to race cars. Aside from the fun of racing in nearby Pomeroy a highlight to coming here is breakfast at Hazel's Good Eats. This restaurant is decorated in a mish mash of conflicting themes over each booth ranging from Elvis Presley to NASCAR to the 50's. It's fun but I cannot help but think that being in there alone closing the place up for the night must be spooky. However for breakfast it is a great wake up for your eyes. Hazel's is known for their grilled red potatoes. They'll do regular hash browns if you want but they warn you that they aren't as good. Often times a breakfast place will do one or two things great and the rest of the menu is just basic fare. Hazel's doesn't fall into this catagory, everything is remarkable, plentiful and memorable. This morning I had the Hungry Mans Breakfast; two eggs, grilled red potatoes and a biscuit covered in a country sausage gravy (not the eggs) with four slices of bacon. First let me mention that the bacon was not your typical paper-thin bacon slice, this was a meaty and quite thick slice of bacon with an amazing smokey flavor. I cannot think off-hand of better bacon I have ever had. The eggs were light and fluffy (scrambled, dry) and the potatoes grilled and seasoned to perfection. The gravy was not the best I have ever had however it complimented the meal well without being greasy or too heavy. The biscuit was good and light, but not fluffy, which is just great in my book. Other fine meals at Hazel's has been the Eggs Benedict with a side of fresh fruit, any of the omlettes and people at the other table say they have the best oatmeal in the area at a fair price. Another great reason for coming to Hazel's is the great service from a staff of talented servers. No matter how busy they get the people at Hazel's attend to your every need. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very large. Hazel's is a guilty pleasure. read more

Eating at Hazel's is precisely why I got on Yelp: to find cool, unexpected restaurants that a tourist simply wouldn't know about otherwise. The atmosphere is so much fun, from the decor to the "attitude" the wait staff is known to give you. It's pretty kitchy with the Tiki style decor, but it sure as heck beats a Starbucks for breakfast. I had the chocolate chip waffles and, well, I wanted more Chocolate Chips in the waffle batter. There were chips and the waffle was big enough to impress, but there could be more spread across the entire waffle. But the breakfast was good enough to ask them to make me a sandwich to-go so I could have something nice at the airport for my flight back home. And the sandwich? It was delicious even if it waited hours in wrapping to be eaten. If I ever come back to Lewiston/Clarkston, I will be visiting Hazel's again. read more

Unexpected gem! We had a party of TEN on Mother's Day and couldn't have asked for a better experience! My aunt/uncle/cousins were staying in Clarkston during my sister's WSU grad weekend, and therefore scoped out this place for us to meet on Sunday. We had no idea what to expect, and really, what transcended in this tiny cafe exceeded any sort of expectation I may have subconsciously had for a place in small town WA! The decor is eclectic, at best - a jumble of 50s, beach, Florida Keys, carnival...you name it. The bathrooms even feature fun house mirrors! The service - impeccable. Easy-going and efficient. Kinda reminded me of Disney's 50's Prime Time Cafe, minus the pretentiousness. But the real gem? THE FOOD. Sooo good. I had coconut waffles...with real coconut in them...topped with coconut syrup. I.WAS.IN.HEAVEN. Everyone raved about their own choices as well, from the pancakes, to corn beef hash, eggs, biscuits and gravy....mmmm. I am getting hungry just thinking about it. Where to start? The atmosphere is a blast. Each booth has its own theme and you notice something new every time you come in. I've been in eclecticly designed restaurants many times, but Hazel's takes it to a whole 'nother level. There are things in there that are just amazing, from 50s and 60s decor items to antiques and oddments that are just fun to look at. I always want to find out where they found them. The food is amazing. Really, really good breakfast and lunch items. I have yet to have anything on the menu which wasn't outstanding. My favorite breakfast item is "The Yuck" omelet, which is absolutely not deserving of its name. Think bleu cheese and bacon, spinach and cracked black pepper... oh, it's wonderful. Big fluffy pancakes with just the tiniest hint of nutmeg; so good. Good coffee... if a tiny bit on the weak side. For lunch, I highly recommend the Reuben... one of the best in town. Great service even when they are slammed (and they usually are!). There seems to be a little confusion every time I've been in about whether you pay at the front when you leave or if your waiter or waitress will ring you up, but that's the only criticism I have, if you'd really call that a criticism. Service was prompt and my coffee cup was always full. Absolutely deserving of five stars. read more

Was in Clarkston visiting a friend and did not expect much of good eats in such a small town. I was wrong! The breakfast is delicious. I had the chicken fried steak. The gravy was done just right and tasty, and not salty like most other places. The fried steak was delicious with the right texture and crunch, and not salty. The pancake was good too. The coffee was very watery--too weak, but still not bad. If they make it stronger, it would be a good coffee. Service was friendly and prompt. They refilled our juice and coffee often w/o asking. The décor is fun. Each booth has a different theme. Next time I am in Clarkston, I sure will visit Hazel for breakfast. read more

We stopped here on the great 2009 Road Trip. By this point, neither my husband nor I had high hopes as practically every local place we'd stopped had been meh. Hazel's was outstanding. I had the best cheeseburger I've had in a long time and their English chips - these are like thick homemade potato chips and were excellent. My husband had the blackened steak sandwich and he said it was very good as well. If we ever get back up to that part of the world, we'll visit again. We liked this place a lot. The food was pretty tasty, we ordered typical breakfast fare. Our daughter ordered the chicken strips meal, and it came with delicious home made chips. If we would have known about the chips, we would have ordered lunch instead of breakfast. The decor was cute and fun. Typically I hate plastic plants and vines because after watching years of Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine, I learned that plastic plants are disgustingly dirty and have loads of dust that can fall off in your food. However, I looked it over and didn't notice any dust, so that was good. It was a clean place. Service was really good and we got our food fast! Our server was really friendly, my only beef with my dining experience is that our server totally smelled like cigarettes. (Like, really bad!) Not COVID compliant. While standing in the reception area I had a clear view of the kitchen - they were not wearing masks! COVID is airborne and the kitchen staff is breathing on the food! They did not have disposable menus. I watched two people go to the restroom without their masks. I saw them leave with their masks on. People wandering around without their masks on after they are seated seems to be a common problem in the Clarkston, WA area. Please stop them from doing that!
