The service was slow but good at 4 pm on Monday. Then the food. My husband had the meatloaf and loved it. He said I should learn to make it the same. A nice compliment. I tasted it and yep it was really good. Then there was my adult grilled cheese. Bad, burned, funny taste, very dry bread. The only plus was the bacon tasted good. I was hungry and I ate as much as I could on the way to a funeral visitation. Tsk tsk. We have eaten at two other locations with very different better results. Please we need decent restaurants and this location is great. read more

We wanted to check this new place out for brunch and it was eh-okay. My favorite was the orange-glaze cinnamon roll - big enough to share. The homemade orange glaze was delicious. I got the huevos benedicto with potatoes and it was pretty good - the chorizo patty was different but good. My boyfriend got the haymakers Benedict and thought it was "weird", wasn't really a breakfast item it had mashed potatoes, chicken, bacon, etc. it was like lunch and breakfast all mixed into a big pile of mush. Also got some mimosa - the pineapple one was good but the prickly pear mimosa was soooo sweet, it tasted like there no was champagne in it and it wasn't chilled, I had to add ice cubes to it and couldn't even finish it because of how sweet it was. The server was good, but the guy that brought out the food didn't even know what the dishes were called including their signature haymakers Benedict. read more

Go to Applebees or Chilli's or anywhere besides here. This place is horrible. I haven't been treated like this in a restaurant in my entire life. I was going through a very personal tough time and I am new to the area. I only had about 22 dollars, which is roughly enough for 3 drinks. So I ordered a blue moon and at first the bartender was friendly. Eventually more people started entering the bar, and me and the person next to me started talking and he bought us both a drink. Then all of a sudden the manager comes out and says they aren't going to serve me even though someone else wanted to have a drink with me. So after 3 drinks in total, I got kicked out because I was having ONLY DRINKS and not food. I was literally just sitting there meeting people and feeling happy and smiling when I was told to leave because I "didn't order any food." I'm sorry, but really? It's a bar! How is it not allowed to just buy drinks? Obviously I would have ordered food if I wasn't going through a hard time and if I had more money. The manager should understand that you don't know what someone is going through in their personal life. Maybe being at Haymaker that night saved my life. I didn't know anyone in peoria and as soon as I started to meet some cool people, I had to leave BECAUSE I DIDN'T ORDER FOOD AT THE BAR. They kicked someone out who wasn't doing anything wrong. (And I had only had 3 drinks, whoop de do). read more

Came here for an event this past weekend and it was not too bad! The service was pretty good as were the food and drinks. I got a huckleberry mule and it was really delicious. I also got a ceasar salad which I don't get very often but it was good! My husband got macaroni and fries and I had a little, it was pretty good! I also got to try a fried pickle and I think it was the best fried pickle I've had it was great! I'd like to come back for breakfast. read more

Just finished our first breakfast here, and it did not disappoint! Haymaker Benedict and Biscuits and Gravy were both excellent. Service was outstanding and efficient and the dining area was clean and bright. We will definitely be back read more

Haymaker is consistently excellent. Been here at least a couple dozen times and it's always great food and great service.

Went back to give it another try. The hostess was horrible. The food was great! We sat in a booth in the bar. Bartender was awesome! Bloody Mary's were delicious. Fish was perfectly fried. Fries were so so. Really nice staff except for the hostess. read more

Very amazing food and customer service experience I've come in for breakfast I haven't had anything on the lunch/dinner menu yet but my favorite thing is the huevos rancheros so very delicious and the chocolate chip pancakes are also delicious it all goes well with the mocha freeze read more

Not a lot of places within walking distance of the motorcycle repair shop, so this was it. Disappointing bbq sandwich.

The food was great. Perfectly poached eggs, and great pork. Nice portion size for a hearty breakfast. Atmosphere was pleasant. Not too loud, but enough people that you didn't have to whisper not to be rude. read more

I am being nice with the 2 stars. Last 2 visits . A few months ago I just figured it was a bad day in the kitchen, 2 times in a row, same issues it's a problem. 2 couples wives had chicken fried steak, both said it was bland and both ordered broccoli that came cold, the butter they put on it didn't come close to melting. I had the rib and chicken Piggy platter, the skin on the leg/thigh was burnt and shriveled up at the bottom of the leg, the meat was dry and almost hard on the outside and was not very moist. The ribs were last 2 times dry and this last time the half rack the bottom rib was very hard. A knife had difficulty cutting cleanly, something you should never have an issue with ribs. The plus was the front of house, the hostess and waitress were very attentive refilled drinks before they were empty, the hostess even helped since we were there early and the night crew had not clocked in yet, another reason for the review, as late late dining I can understand some food being a little drier, but at 4:15 pm should be best quality. read more

This was such a disappointment. 4 meals and all were horrible. The server was having to help a bunch of customers while the manager walked around, never helped, never checked in with the customers and frowned the whole time. No wonder they are always empty. Don't waste your money or time. read more

We had a very good experience!! I say experience because just having good food isn't good enough. Our food was good, the server was amazing, the booth was super comfy (firm and fluffy seats), and we fully enjoyed the EXPERIENCE. I ordered the bacon burrito. I wasn't very hungry but ate more than I expected because it was perfection. I LOVED the homemade salsa and chips that came with the burrito!!! The salsa was better than at most Mexican restaurant!! KUDOS! My hubby had a chicken sandwich, and he said that he would order the same exact sandwich again when we return! He "likes" that he could order broccoli instead of fries for health reasons. Our kid had the two mini burgers on the kid's menu, and they looked delicious!! The meat looked like hand formed (and thick) patties! The buns looked amazing! The cheese looked like a good quality cheese. He even pointed out the cheese as it was oozing off of the side! After I saw our kid's burger, I wanted a burger, but I was happy with my burrito! It was noisy because of a nearby table. There was a group of old people. Our kid asked, "Why are they so loud?" I responded, "Because they are old, and they can't hear themselves or each other!!" My hubby and I, as getting closer to being old people, laughed. That was the only negative to our experience! read more

I have been super stressed out all week with various things going on in my life. I was craving their onion rings all day today. It was an incredibly crappy day. I mentioned to the bartender that I was looking forward to this all day. Long story short when I went to order, they were out of onion rings. The bartender could see that I was distressed and asked to have a moment. About 5 minutes later, she came back with a plate. There were not enough for a full order but they were able to find a few onion rings for me. That is the kind of activity that gains my loyalty. To the owners, Nicki needs a raise. read more

Had breakfast there today and it was just okay. I will say that the most of the people there were 55 plus which is not a problem. The young lady who checked my 18 year old granddaughter in was very rude. Customer service is very important first off. Being young herself is not the way to greet people. I've eaten at a haymaker before just not this location. Breakfast is not the best. I will not be coming back to this location ever. Older folks you enjoy. I don't enjoy rudeness from the get go. I have Celiac disease and was super excited to hear this place has a dedicated gf fryer!!! The chicken wings are gluten free! Food was great. Bartenders were amazing and also very knowledgeable about celiac disease. read more

We decided to get carry out tonight and wanted to try something different so we chose Haymakers. I greeted by a nice young lady who took my order and I went and sat at the bar to wait. While I was waiting I decided the to order a drink. The bartender mixed me up a nice whiskey sour which was under $4 due to being happy hour. So far so good, I'm loving this experience. A few minutes later my food is ready so I throw it in the car and take it home. Here is where things go south. I ordered the fried chicken dinner which is just a battered and fried boneless chicken breast instead of bone in pieces as I was expecting. This is mentioned nowhere on the menu, if it had been I would have chosen a different option because restaurants tend to overcook chicken breasts and they turn out dry. Sure enough, this was the case. Usually the remedy to this situation is some gravy which the menu said was included in the meal but nowhere to be found. I still have hope at this point because my wife ordered a country fried steak which came with a side of sausage gravy so maybe she will be nice enough to share some with me. She agrees so I figure this is now salvageable but I am wrong. Instead of sausage gravy we received what appeared to be a cup of corn chowder. So disappointing. I know someone will ask me why I simply didn't return everything and give them a chance to correct their mistake so I will explain. 1. My wife was hungry and preferred not to wait. 2. Game 2 of the NBA finals had just started. 3. It was 110 degrees outside and I didn't feel like getting back in my car. So next time we are looking for some comfort food I'll just drive past Haymakers and go to Biscuits Cafe on the other side of the street. read more

First time at this location as I have visited their others in the past. The food is good however a few things I thought were weird is when I ordered the breakfast plate I didn't get toast well it was forgotten about maybe by the cook? When it did finally come I only got 1 piece which struck as me odd. Second the service was really slow. We waited around 25 minutes before receiving our food and the restaurant was not busy. It was around 10 am and if it were busy I'd understand but even just walking through the front door into the establishment it took a long time to be seated. The bartender seen us but she didn't acknowledge us finally someone did seat us but again it was awhile. The location off of Lake Pleasant Pkwy is much busier and the service is phenomenal! Atmosphere and staff at that location are a lot more lively as well. read more

The Haymaker took over an old Dillon's location. The menu reminds me of Dillons. I ordered the Kind of Famous Texan burger. The bbq sauce had great flavor but the burger was over cooked and dry. The fries were great. We also ordered a B.L.A.T. The breading on the fried tomatoes was BLAH. The hickory smoked bacon was little pieces of bacon instead of whole slices. read more

I came here for breakfast. This used to be a Dillion's restaurant. I like the remodel they did especially the bar area. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. They have great portion sizes on the food. I got the biscuits and sausage gravy with two eggs and hash browns. The prices are a little on the high end but it's worth it because you get good portions and it's delicious. The service was very fast which I was surprised. If your looking for a good place to eat then give this place a try. I think you will like it. read more

Visited this lovely place today. We had a group of 5 and got in right away. We had an amazing waiter (from LA) can't remember his name . My group had the following items.. 2 of us go the waffle and made it a griddle with eggs and bacon. The eggs and bacon amwere normal, the toast was like Texas toast and the butter was amazing. The waffle was outstanding and the syrup was not your average syrup. It had an amazing sweet taste One person got the chicken steak and eggs.. The gravy was awesome and the biscuit was CRAZY good. The biscuit was light and airy and amazing. Another dish was the east coast Benedict. It was amazing and had amazing flavor. She also got the country that were awesome.. The final meal was the meat omelet. It was huge and amazing flavor packed full of meat . The atmosphere, food, and service were top notch. We will be back... read more

We went with a large group for a birthday get together. They have a large room in back for a large group which is nice. Food was not as well done as other Haymaker restaurants we've been to. Food came out on time and service was great until it was time to pay. It's a tough task creating individual checks for a large group but this place really struggled. Not sure if it was the system or the staff but it took 45 minutes to get our tickets correct and taken care of. My advice is to wait a little bit before going with a large party. Hopefully they will figure it out soon. read more

EXTREMELY disappointed! We eat here ALOT living close we have been so satisfied here, walked in today and wanted our seat in the bar and was told it would be a few minutes but there was immediate seating in dining room we said no we wanted the bar and the tables were open and clean we asked why we couldn't sit there and she said she had just sat people in there and it wasn't her turn for guests and she wanted us to "have the best service experience possible " well how is that when you won't let us sit where we want to??? We waited 3 minutes and watched 6 get get sat as the bar table grew dust, so we kicked up our own and left...I pray management/ownership sees this because we are regulars and should not be treated in this fashion....who cares whose turn it is to get guests if we don't want to sit where we want! read more

Upon walking into the establishment I was slightly greeted. Almost like it was an inconvenience that me and my guest arrived in the restaurant interrupting the workers. After being seated we ordered. I did have two small children with us and asked for chocolate milk. The glasses that were brought had ill fitting lids and the server was like you can fix it. Then I order my meal which was eggs Benedict. Now this is supposed to be eggs runny when you cut into them. However mine was overcooked and the waitress failed to notice that it was even over cooked. Our meal was to say the least subpar. I have been to the other location and loved it. This location needs a lot of work and maybe a staff attitude adjustment. I wouldn't recommend visiting this establishment unless you are wanting an ok meal. read more

I've been stopping here for a couple years now. I have a doctor down the road and I often treat myself to a little brunch after an appointment. I am not a meat eater so I love the vegetable Benedict. They a wide selection of drinks including some coffee based ones. Breakfast is served all day! Today was my first stop in during happy hour and I was impressed. They serve the fried pickle with thousand island instead of ranch which was another first for me! I liked it. I also splurged and had a pancake for dinner! Very good. I told them it was one of the best pancakes ever! I hope I don't find out it was from a box but if it was, tell me where to find it. They also have a rewards program and I finally earned $10 so it was a definite win! Service has always been great and I really have never had a problem after numerous visits. read more

Great selection on their menu and HUGE portions of food. Friendly employees there is a big plus too.

We have been to this restaurant twice on the last two trips out to Arizona. I would love for this restaurant to expand to California. We will definitely visit again on our next trip out this way. read more
