    Cheese

Local bakery with freshly baked goods, sandwiches and soups. Tried the croissant muffin looking item with the cheese. There's one with ham and cheese. Got it warmed up and it was buttery, flakey good! The cheese was great too, tasted like some good cheese. What I liked best is how the melted cheese was evenly spread throughout the pastry. Perfect size too because it was pretty filling! Must be the tasty butter! Service is friendly and efficient. Got our items in about 5-8 mins. Has a lot of local small business vibes. Space is fairly open with natural light coming in. Nice for a quick breakfast or lunch.

Was on search for some soup on a cold day. Walked in here. The sandwich bread was delicious. Curry chicken with lots of meat. The soup was filled with lots of veggies. Pretty quick lunch service.

A lovely bakery/cafe in the Civic Center area. I tend to visit for lunch (salads, soups, sandwiches) but sometimes visit in the morning for a baked good and coffee drinks. The cafe is nice and tidy, with a grab-n-go section, a small bookcase of cookbooks to peruse, and some tables and window counter seats to enjoy your order. Service is nice and friendly, and they have a restroom.

Been noshing on their sandwiches lately and pretty much like all of them. Even though I hardly eat turkey, I really like their Turkey, Brie, and Apple sandwich. One of my friends love their Ginger Currant Scones, so I would occasionally get some for her.

I like how this place had a lot of options, it was a good place to go and grab a quick sandwich before going to Alamo Square, I got a turkey apple and brie sandwich that was really yummy.

Rustic baked pastries and modern cafe. Soyrizo egg empanada was savory, but was very neutral in terms of wanting more of it. Chicken pot pie was too dry to like as well as their chicken pesto empanada. Their mushroom empanada fared nicely. Their ham roll was spot on. Apple pie was missing like drizzled whipped cream, chocolate or strawberry. It was another on the too dry pastry item side. I like their scones! It looks dry, but the inside was just right with texture that compliments. Freshly squeezed OJ was welcomed! They have coffee selections freshly served as options. Solid spot for pastries and beverages

Pastry was good and so was the service. Support a business that supports the community. Everything we ordered was good.

Coworker brought a boxful of goodies from here - come support a local social enterprise! Sampled a little of the lemon cake, savory bacon (and chive?) scone, sweet scone, and something else. Lemon cake was tender and moist. Savory bacon scone was surprisingly delicious.

Amazing bakery. Best scones. Great caramels. Next trip I'll try more things. I'll be making this a regular visit.

FINALLY tried B Patisserie and it did not disappoint! Came on Sunday after Mass at around 1 pm to…read morefind it still popping with a line out the door. Even so, they were refreshing that pastry case so that I was not without options. So many amazing-looking things, so I got 3 things just for myself: Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant $5.25: The classic, I had to try. And it was so good!! I thought it might be too rich, but I actually found it to be quite balanced. I loved the fresh mashed banana/banana purée inside, and it went really well with the chocolate. I didn't get a ton of almond flavor comparatively, but I appreciated the coating on the top for a heartier crunch in addition to the croissant flakiness. Like everyone else, I would definitely recommend this one! Passionfruit Bostock $4.25: The staff person helping me told me this was a good option, so I was happy about that. I would agree! It has a beautiful crisp on the outside and a moist crumb inside. The passionfruit flavor was really nice and not too strong. I believe they rotate different flavors of this one, so I'd definitely want to try more. Bostocks on the whole are underrated, and I think they have just the loveliest texture. All-in-One Cake: This is so creative. I was going to stop at the above two pastries, but when the staff person said that this cake was quite literally made up of all the other cakes seen in the case, I was already sold. How cool and creative and reduce-reuse-recycle is that!!!?? I love! And it was such a fun eat! I love how they added crust at the bottom and a gorgeous chocolate layer on top to tie everything together. And every bite was a little different: some fruity, some nutty, some crunchier. Super cool. I was able to nab a table and work a little bit, which was nice. It's a good vibe inside with a little hustle and bustle, but still cozy overall. I'll be back!

When the full size Kouign Amann runs out these breadsticks, see my photos, are excellent substitutes: caramelized, sweet, crunch, and flaky. Sort of like bite size Kouign Amann. The layered coffee / espresso cake is excellent, just the right amount of coffee, sweetness and cream. It's subtly sweet and just the right harmony of bite through the layers. It's a little small portioned but love the sleek rectangular slice. They often have seasonal, Asian inspired flavors such as sesame Kouign Amann. For holidays, order ahead, and arrive early. For fresh Kouign Amann's, get them early in the morning. They sell out. Location: near UCSF Mount Zion medical center.
