I took in a two wedding bands. One belonged to my grandmother (it is actually her ring and my grandfather's ring combined into one after his passing) and the other is my father's (their son.) I had a vision of how I wanted to combine the rings into one so that I could wear it. The kind people at Hayes listened to what I wanted, we talked it through, and they made it happen to perfection! I could not be happier with the piece of family history I can now proudly wear and bring a piece of my grandparents and parents love. Its like having them with me everywhere I go. Great work at Hayes! I've visited twice, now, and both times I've left as a happy customer! First, Hayes was recommended as I needed same-day repair work for my mother-in law who was visiting from out of town. She needed a chain and a fix on a broken necklace. She bought a beautiful chain, and they got her necklace repaired promptly! She was thrilled to be able to take both back home with her. Upon seeing how awesome that transaction went, I brought my own necklace (that had been sitting in my jewelry box for months) in to be repaired. Same as before, timely repair and beautiful work. My now fiancé and I were recommended Hayes Jewelers when we decided to shop around and see what potential engagement rings I liked best. We were specifically recommended Marshall's business (a distant family friend of the recommendee), but he unfortunately was not present the day we visited. At first we had great customer service by Mary and a coworker. Super nice and attentive, but Mary was very direct at times and things came across slightly aggressive--gave the benefit of the doubt and continued working with her. We disclosed that we were simply window shopping for the day. I later found out that, after I walked out for my fiancé to ask private questions, Mary was very quick to try and take a deposit and get things rolling (I hadn't found anything I liked with her...); and when my fiancé told her not today, she became passive aggressive and tried to instill doubts about his future proposal. That same day we found business elsewhere and had more luck, but there were still things in motion at Hayes Jewelers with Mary. Days later, she called my fiancé to give an update on diamonds that came in if we wanted to check them out, which is when he informed her he had completed his business elsewhere and he appreciated her help with everything. She was immediately offended, asked where we went to which she responded with snobby arrogance; she brought out the attitude, scoffed and said with all the disrespect and insincerity that she hoped everything went well, and proceeded to hang up on my fiancé. To make it all worse for her, she was trying to overcharge my fiancé by a couple thousand dollars compared to where he ended up completing business. She is simply a tantrum-throwing, self-serving, money-hungry saleswoman whose "customer service" tactics are so disappointing. Wish I truly had something nicer to say as our visit started out decent (hence the 2 stars); but, the overall business from her turned out to be the ickiest experience we could have received regarding what should have been an exciting and celebratory time. I'm grateful I didn't find anything from her store because I couldn't imagine how much more stressful the process would have been for my fiancé if he decided to take her business (he was already stressed enough planning the proposal!!! the ring should not add any more stress, let alone the jewelers trying to sell him the ring!!!!). I hope our experience is the only one like it with her and the rest of her business is actually respectful; and if not, then hopefully this review will push her to do better. read more

My Granddaughter highly recommended to me this jewelry store! I lost diamond out of my original wedding band- engagement ring from 52 years ago. I wanted to replace it with a simple gold band with diamond and sapphire chips to resemble my original ring.. I was so impressed with the owner of this store who is a feisty 80 year old and as nice and helpful as she could be. She has 4 jewelers on staff and a huge selection of all types of jewelry. I explained to her what I was thinking of as far as a new setting and she showed me many many styles and added her expertise! This is probably the only jewelry store that has 4 actual jewelers on staff and is a family owned business! I would highly recommend it and the owner is incredible! read more

Went in to look for a unique, yet beautiful, engagement and wedding band set. I had been to several other places to look but had always heard good things about Hayes Jewelers so I wanted to see what they offered. Jerry Wiggins ended up helping me find the most beautiful engagement ring along with a beautiful wedding band - I was literally drawn to the set over and over again while we looked at other sets. Jerry is very knowledgeable, helpful and never pushy so Hayes Jewelers won me over. I had my fiancé back with me to purchase the set before the day ended. And I know we'll be back - you just can't find the selection, the knowledge, the service or the friendly atmosphere anywhere else in Mobile County in my opinion. Excellent customer service! Staff was very respectful and knowledgeable. I dropped off a Seiko to have the crystal replaced and while discussing repair options, he replaced the battery on my Fossil! I can't say enough about their customer service and professionalism. I will be bringing all my watches here from now on and will recommend this place to everyone in need of watch repair/servicing. I took my mothers wedding ring in to see if we could surprise her with a new diamond since hers had fallen out. I had been to several big box Jewelers and no one seemed to even be interested in helping. When I walked Hayes, I was greeted my Marshall, who was so nice. He wanted to know not only what I wanted done to the piece, but he also wanted to know the story behind it. I ultimately ended up buying a diamond from them, and they placed a card in a jewelry box with a bag. I knew my mother would want to be reassured that her ring that had lasted 27 years of marriage would be in good hands. When she went in with the ring, they explained the entire process, then even offered to do it while she waited if she didn't want to leave it. I wish i could give this place more stars. I felt like it was more than a store. They made all of us (5 kids who pitched it + the parent) feel like family! read more

My first experience with this jeweler was a positive one the second time not so much brought my wife's ring in to have it changed from white gold two yellow brought it in on a Saturday morning and was told I would have it back by Thursday The following week I called on Wednesday and was told the ring had not come in yet but was expected in that afternoon that I could pick the ring up Friday around 2 o'clock Friday afternoon I called to make sure that my wife could come pick her ring up and was told the rain was not finished that the yellow gold engagement band was backordered this was to be a Christmas surprise for my wife she believed her ring was in the shop being repaired I cannot believe they incompetence of this jewelry store in regards to not letting me know that the ring I wanted and had already paid for was backordered all the way up to an hour before I was supposed to pick it up ultimately Marshall the jeweler himself made good on The transaction by getting a ring from another jeweler in Mobile and finishing the job still did not receive any apology nor any answer to why this happened other then we dropped the ball so be careful when considering this jewelry store for any of your needs read more
