Attention: Paula with Parke Place Jewelers Update from…read moreCarlee Wiggins - Setting the Record Straight In response to Paula's reply claiming she never received a request from me--this is completely false. I contacted Parke Place Jewelry three times by email and also sent multiple text messages to the number listed on her own website at the time. Here are the facts: * July 19, 2024 - First email sent requesting a detailed receipt for the estate jewelry I sold on July 16. * July 21, 2024 - Second follow-up email with same request. * July 23, 2024 - Third email again asking for the receipt. * Multiple text messages were sent to the number listed on her website: 251-943-7225 (NOT the new number she conveniently listed in her reply). In her public response, Paula claimed: "We did not receive a phone call or text..." She also provided a different phone number (251-223-9953) in her reply than the one advertised when I did business with her. That alone shows dishonesty. Let me be clear--I have documentation of every email I sent and screenshots proving the dates and details. Her claim that she never saw my emails or that I didn't reach out is simply untrue and meant to cover her tracks. This was never just about money--I asked repeatedly for a basic receipt for tax and estate records. Paula refused to respond until I left a public review, then turned around and called me the liar. I stand by everything I said--and I have proof to back it. Carlee Wiggins

I hardly ever post anything like this but I really have to let everyone know how unprofessional,…read morerude, ugly, disgusting, and disrespectful this person is! His name is Warren and I would love to save all my friends and family from wasting their time and money at this place. I came in for a cleaning like a month ago and was told there wouldn't be a charge, although every jewelry store I've gone to has never charged me for a cleaning, but I would've been happy to pay. I noticed once it was returned to me that one of my green emeralds fell out while it was in the ultrasonic. He went and got the stone and said it was damaged before it got cleaned. It definitely wasn't. Anyway, he said he'd send it off to be fixed. A few weeks later he texts me and asked if I wanted a quote for a new stone or to just get it put back in.. I asked for both. So I've been waiting weeks for a response. Today, he texted me and said my ring was ready. I told him he never got back with me about how much it'd be. He then tells me it'll be $150. I told him I couldn't pay that today so how much would it be to just put my original stone back in? He responded and said he's never had someone who couldn't afford $150. The audacity to assume that I couldn't "afford" it. First of all, why would you do a service without giving someone an estimate first? He was being so unprofessional and rude! I ended up telling him to remove the stone and return my stuff so I can take it elsewhere. He was trying to argue with me and justify his behavior. He then goes on to say he doesn't have time for this and said I can come get my ring and he'll write it off as charity. I went to pick it up and he was being so passive aggressive and sarcastic! He asked to take a picture with me bc they like to support charity. Lmaooooo literally F off! This isn't charity my boy. You didn't give me an estimate before doing a service. Pretty sure he took a pic of me bc when I was walking out he said, "if you post I will too." Okay? Is that a threat? He was being so petty and disrespectful! I'll have to take my ring to Lou's to make sure he didn't damage it somehow or put in something fake. I would never support a business like this. I feel sorry for the sweet lady that works there. He probably treats her like crap. I would love to see a for lease sign on that window! Do not recommend whatsoever.

Jerry Wiggins ended up helping me find the most beautiful engagement ring along with a beautiful wedding band - I was literally drawn to the set over and over again while we looked at other sets. Jerry is very knowledgeable, helpful and never pushy so Hayes Jewelers won me over. I had my fiancé back with me to purchase the set before the day ended. And I know we'll be back - you just can't find the selection, the knowledge, the service or the friendly atmosphere anywhere else in Mobile County in my opinion. Thank you Jerry and Hayes Jewelers for being a part of my initial journey into my married life. It was an awesome experience and I'll be recommending you to all of my friends. L McLeod

That Tuesday came and my wife called about her rings and was told the jeweler was back up and the rings would be done that evening or the next morning. So she called back Wednesday at 12 to get an update and the jeweler had a rude comment saying that he can't work on the rings if he was always on the phone with her. So I then called them and there was zero communication when I got on the phone with them I just wanted a new eta because I understand getting backed up just wanted a new time line and I wanted to know what the progress of the rings were. I was given no answer except the rings will be done when they are done or I could get a refund. We had a photographer lined up for the weekend because we expected the rings to be done and we have now wasted three weeks and have to fine a new jeweler. I just didn't trust them with my wife's great grandmothers ring that is 103 years old if they couldn't tell me what had been done to the ring and were rude when we called the day after they said they were going to be finished on.

It's such a great opportunity to see so much talent all in one place, showcasing what the community has to offer. I enjoy getting to know the artists' names and their work. Every time I go to the Wharf, I usually buy something to support both the business and the artists. The prices are very reasonable, and I don't mind spending money on a product when someone has put so much time and effort into it. I'd much rather buy something handmade than mass-produced. The staff can usually connect you with the artist if you're interested in a custom order. And one thing I got there I'll treasure forever. I was drawn to this piece (see picture) more than anything else in the store. I wanted it for my "cross wall." When I went to pay, the clerk told me I'd just bought the very first piece ever made by an 8‑year‑old.
