We were on a time crunch, and Jim made it happen with less than 24 hours notice to get us a trailer to get our boat out of the shop and into our wet slip. I called PDF and spoke to Jim, the owner, who told me that their schedule was absolutely packed, and that they have a huge waitlist; which was very disappointing to hear, since my family was coming in from abroad in a few weeks, and I was very much hoping to being able to take them out on the boat when they were here. That's when the "dedicated small business owner" came out. With a bit of back-end gymnastics (and a small expression of concern that he was biting off more than he could chew) Jim managed to work me into the tiniest gap in his schedule. He evaluated the damage, gave a detailed overview of the work that needed to be done, and even proposed some sort of barter to help cover the costs! (I'm a small business owner myself) From beginning to end, Jim was the consummate professional - patient, fair-mined, helpful - going above and beyond to make this work for me. And the work completed was phenomenal: the boat looked better than when the original owner bought it! I could not have gotten a better first-boat repair experience. The only other way I would arrive being I have no car, is park my dingy and walk 2000 feet to their Convenience Store. Or just take a Uber and minas well just go Walmart. First of all, the crew on the travel lift were obsessive in positioning the straps where they would not damage my boat. We were right on schedule with the pick, I had the tarps up within an hour or so. And the tarps they provided for dust containment were virtually new, in good shape, easy to handle and ample sized. I was ready to start work by lunch time. I easily completed my haulout within my 5 day schedule, as the yard crew took care of my needs such as moving pads, and prepping for the launch. The yard crew are calm and professional. Of course, you can always with the cost was less. But when I look at the scope of the operation, I am grateful we can haul at all in today's inflated world. However, the quality of the work on my board was very disappointing... I appreciate that they paint-match their repairs but the blue overspray was very obviously on my yellow deck. Cosmetically, this was the only issue but what really bothered me was the structural issues. After the first couple of times taking the board out, cracks started to show up in the areas that were repaired. I wouldn't think much of it if this was an issue with the board being old but only where the dings on the rails were, identifiable by the new paint, the board was brittle and crumbling :( Because of this, I took it upon myself to learn how to do my own repairs. I'm not saying to not support these guys, but definitely get familiar with the repair process and make sure you're getting quality work. I probably won't end up dropping my board off at ANY repair shop anymore but for what's it worth, service was good and the repair was quick.

All experienced surfers, the shop staff were eager to share knowledge and discuss boards and breaks with someone who knew nothing. It's easy to let an hour slip away just chatting with them, so welcoming. I was super pleased with the board I eventually got (ironically, a new board) and they gave me a deal on the board + fins + leash + bag + wax. And then I took the board out and immediately sliced a rail open on someone else's fin ‍ Figured it was done for, but still I took it in to them for repair because the owner was insistent. Their rates were very reasonable and they had it done in just under a week, and apparently this is generally a difficult repair, but it looks like new. Another thing that impressed me was that I witnessed a consignment deal when I brought my board in for repairs. I felt like both parties got a good bargain: one guy was able to sell his short board in under a day, and the other got a very fair price on it. It's nice to see locals benefitting like that, and a local surf shop connecting them. The owner Alex is a gem, too. Helped me carry everything to the car, made sure I could find parking, etc. And never a push to buy...seems to want to find the best board for you whether he sells it or not, ha! He spoils his customers for sure and it is tremendous. Definitely strongly recommended.
