Migration Taco - Fried avocado and Buffalo tacos. Love!

    Migration Taco

Sometimes the best tacos are made in a truck…read more If I could give an award for the best tacos in Denver, Migration would win, no contest. Their tacos are even better than my tacos, and I hold tacos to high standards. There's your everyday, throw something in a tortilla with hot sauce because you're hungry kind of tacos, and then there's the top-tier tacos that you dream about when you use the drool emoji. Migration Tacos are drool emoji worthy. My personal favorite is their fried avocado taco. Every avocado lover knows that fried avocado is the pinnacle of avocado sorcery. I also love the things they do with seitan and BBQ. The only problem with Migration is that their tacos are so filling, I can only eat one or two when I want to eat them ALL. And maybe a breakfast burrito... Migration serves brunch as well - last Sunday at Epic Brewing I had some green chili cheesy grits from Migration, and they were dreamy. I could have eaten those grits all day. I had the migas tacos (and ate one) but I was eyeing my husband's breakfast burrito. I wanted to try a bite, but I was too full of grits. Get your vegan taco fix. If you're in Denver and hungry for tacos, be sure to chase down Migration. As their name implies, location is subject to change. They're regulars at Nooch Market and Alternation Brewing, and this summer they'll be at the Highlands farmers market. Follow them on Instagram to see their weekly schedule. Because everyone needs more tacos in their life. P.S. Migration Taco uses all compostable containers and utensils, because they care about the planet. They're cool like that.

Amazing to have this truck down in Rodeo, NM off highway 80. If you're a herper (looking for reptiles/amphibs), birder, bug person, nature lover, or just a taco buff and find yourself in that area, definitely give it a shot! I had the breakfast burrito and a fried avocado taco. Mighty tasty and filling. They go to Hatch, NM, and get their chilies. The real deal here.

There was a consistent steady flow of customers, eating in and picking up orders to go. On this frigid day I think that is a testament to the quality of the establishment. The decor inside is delightful, they have potted plants hanging from the ceiling with vines sprawling out, growing along strategically placed lines across the ceiling. Several playful piñatas are strewn about. It was a quiet, calm atmosphere. Even with the grills and ovens clearly cranking the dining room was chilled. Handmade signs are everywhere most in Spanish, with some English translations underneath. Laminated menus are also available. We waited what I thought was an appropriate time for our food, the items were brought out at separate times. One item completely forgotten, so we took it to-go. Fine though we were stuffed with what we had. We had ordered one steak and one shrimp taco (3 of each came out) definitely a miscommunication but sour cream on the side was noted and came on the side. We also enjoyed chips with a spicy green salsa, along with a voluptuous chicken quesadilla.

Every bite tasted homemade, not rushed or generic like big chains. The food was authentic, delicious, portions were huge, and the quality really stood out. On top of that, the people were kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do, which makes the experience even better. If you're looking to support a small business and enjoy amazing Mexican food, this place is definitely worth checking out. I'll absolutely be back. i could not take pictures due to me diving in the food as soon as it was ready . i recommend eating theere while food is hot

    La Capital Tacos - 3 tacos.....well 2.5. lol

I can put down quite a bit of food so if I order the "three traditional tacos" then I'm usually left wanting just one more... so I typically go for the burrito to try and fill up a bit more. The chorizo is delicious and seasoned very well. The salsa verde that is served with each taco/burrito is also delicious. During winter they put up some "bubble" tents outside with heaters. They don't have much seating inside and if the restaurant is busy then you might be caught in a pickle... but I've been lucky enough to find a free table here reliably. I've been visited by out-of-state friends a few times and I typically introduce them to this restaurant (as one of my local favorites) and they usually love it.

I was so glad to have dinner there recently. Delicioso! My friend ordered the three steak taco dinner while I had the three chicken taco dinner. Then, we traded one. The tacos are served on small corn tortillas. It generally takes more than one taco to feel full. The steak tacos came with wonderful melted cheese and a beef dipping sauce. The chicken tacos came with salsa verde, plenty of cilantro and chopped up red onions. We each had a Margarita which are awesome, too. The staff is small but friendly and efficient. There isn't a lot of seating inside the restaurant. Just a few tables. Most of the seating is actually in the outdoor patio. In cold weather, large clear heated plastic bubbles or igloos are installed on the patio. Each holds a table and enough seating for several people. It's incredibly cute. There's even table service, but most people ordered take out and then walked over to eat in the bubbles. There's also parking on premises which makes the dining experience very convenient. We ate-in and had a blast. I look forward to coming back. They don't take reservations but guests are encouraged to call ahead to ask about seating.

The photos online looked amazing, but unfortunately, I don't think it lived up to expectations. Being next door to their marketplace, the space has a laid-back vibe--bright, well-lit, and it smells really good. The two people working the front (one taking orders, the other handing out food) were friendly and welcoming, which was a nice touch. We ordered the ribs, brisket, bratwurst, potato salad, mac & cheese, and fries. Of the meats, the brisket was probably the best--good bark, and not dry. The bratwurst was very dry and definitely needed the mustard. The ribs were far too salty, and I wasn't a fan of their peach BBQ sauce. The sides were pretty solid. The mac & cheese was okay, though it could've used a bit more seasoning. The potato salad was solid, and the fries were good. The pickles that came with the entrees were also tasty. All in all, a bit disappointing. When the sides outshine the entrees, it says something.

While they are usually closed during the Winter months, this year they are modifying their menu to also be known as Smokehouse Noods - as in Noodle Shop and staying open through the cold season. The menu consists of four Vietnamese Pho dishes along with sides, salads, and dessert. While we were picking up apples at the attached Golden Harvest we stepped next door to check out Noods. I offer my sympathy to the clerk freezing behind the counter because the area is not heated. You'd be brave to sit at a table to enjoy your Pho as it is VERY cold in there. But having to do takeout does not negatively impact the quality of the Pho in the least. My wife tried the Chicken Pho ($16) while I went with the Beef Pho ($16). Kudos to the owners for being socially conscious. The takeout containers for the Pho are made from 100% bamboo. Each serving will consist of four packages - the one-quart container of Pho broth with your choice of beef, chicken, or vegetables; a typical Asian takeout container with rice noodles; a plastic sandwich bag with bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, cilantro, and lime wedge; and a ramekin of hoisin and siracha sauces. Important TIP! There is no way you have room in the quart container to mix all the ingredients. You should pour the broth into a container that holds at least 5 cups of liquid, and preferably more. Chicken based broth is used for their chicken pho and beef broth for their beef pho. In the past, the best chicken pho I'd ever had was homemade with beef broth. So, I did notice a difference when tasting my wife's chicken pho. But it was still excellent. The fullness of flavors in both broths was absolutely outstanding. The beef brisket and rare beef in my pho was tender and delicious. Next visit will have to include a taste of the Matcha Churro donut and their Apple Cider Donut Bread Pudding.
