As with estimates, the quote had an expiration date. I was ready about a month after the original estimate expired. The updated quote was nearly double the original price and was not for our project. I always try to use local suppliers when possible. I asked to speak to the owner to expedite the process. Tara said there was no need to speak with the owner. Unfortunately, her interactions were rude and unprofessional, and they gave the impression that she was not interested in our business. This project, Phase I windows, was several thousand dollars. I requested to speak with the owner; again, Tara said the owner lets her make all the decisions. The original interaction was fine (especially the installers who took the measurements). The second updated quote, which took approximately three weeks, was not only double the original quote, but was not the correct quote for the project. Puzzling, to say the least. I ended up going with an out-of-town supplier, and the price was relatively close to Barstow Glass and Mirror's original quote.

Well it happens...and if it hasn't happen to you yet, I still recommend Hugo and Pro Glass. My Dad's vacation home was the victim. A realtor contacted him about this expensive bad news. Dad asked me to take care of the repair because he's out of the state right now. Yelp & Hugo to the Rescue: Searched about 20 different companies here on Yelp and compared it to their Google reviews. I narrowed it down to 4...and decided to go with Pro Glass. Glad I did because the entire process was seamless. After my first call to Hugo, he called me back immediately and arranged for his guys to go to the home ASAP for measurements and a quote. Within less than an hour & 1/2, Hugo texted me with a very reasonable and competitive quote. All this without me needing to be at the property. When I made the decision to go with Pro Glass, Hugo informed me that it'll take 3-5 business days for the glass to arrive, and required a 50% deposit, which was Zelle'd to him immediately. (paying cash will save you credit card processing fees = $70 in our case) The glass arrived in 4 days. We arranged to have it installed the next morning, and he'll text me when his guys where on the way to the property, so I can meet them and give them access inside the home. Oscar & Ivan arrived a few minutes before me and were already removing the shattered glass door outside the house -- they cleared & cleaned up every little speck from the ground. Not only are they punctual and professional, they're both super nice hard workers. Such great attitudes too, while doing hard labor in 100+ degrees in this humid summer heat. The glass was installed into the sliding door. Everything is back to normal. Looks & feels like new. He explained that this would make the doors lighter and provide easier access to the closet. I agreed with his suggestion, and Mike prepared a detailed proposal, which he sent to me via email.
