Ladies, you know how loyal we are when we find a good hair dresser right... well I am fortunate…read moreenough to have two lovely ladies who I go to before I will trust my tresses to just anyone. I started going to Uniquely You back in about 2003. I was introduced to an awesome lady named Olga, and she is amazing! Her personality is always bubbly even when she is running around like crazy, and her skills are phenomenal. When I first went to see Olga, I had long brown hair, and I was in the "DON"T CUT TOO MUCH OFF," portion of my life. Well we played with some color, and she convinced me to cut off the dead ends. I don't know what type of crazy magic this girl pulled, but by the end of that year I had hair up to my cheek bones that went from boring brown to a platinum paradise. Talk about bombshell. Between the two ladies I have gone to (April is listed in another review...) I never feel more beautiful than when I leave the chair of either one of these two ladies. I tell Olga all the time that she is a hair ninja. She comes up with crazy ideas that I never would have thought of, and I used to go to her and tell her to do whatever she pleased because I KNEW the results would come out fantastic, and what she determined looked awesome, looked much better than any of my plain ol ideas. Olga will tell you if a cut or color isn't right. She is creative, and will ask you if you are sure before any drastic changes. For the amazing work that she does, she should be charging much more than what she does...(but I'm of course, glad that she doesn't.) I moved to NC and I seriously just flew back into town to visit people and managed to squeeze in for an appointment with her. I have gone to a stylist here, but so far none have held a candle to either of my ladies. So to Olga, thank you for making me feel beautiful and for being so amazing at what you do. You rock, and Uniquely You is such a conveniently located location as well. Ladies and Gents, if you need a hair ninja, you've just met your match.

I made my appointment and was eager to have a new style. I was very specific with Erin (the manager and stylist who was cutting my hair) and showed her what I wanted. However, I ended up to the point of tears due to the horrible hair cut I received. It did not look like what I had asked for, she didn't listen to what I had to say about my hair, and it was an awful experience. She did apologize at the end, but neither the manager (Erin) nor the shop owner, who was there, bothered with anything besides, "I know your not happy with your haircut." Really? Now I'm stuck with an awful haircut until it grows out enough to get the layers blended without losing more length. I definitely do NOT recommend this salon!

I hate to be this person. This was the worst hair salon experience I've ever had :( which was a…read morehuge bummer. The girl was really nice, all I needed was a quick trim. She cut it dry, but didn't actually cut anything. I wish I was joking, she pulled hair out with her fingers, snapped the scissors, but not on my hair. Then said she wasn't going to wash it.... For 50$ it's included so I kindly asked her to wash it. Huge mistake. Should have just left. Only wet and washed the top cone of my head. The front pieces and around my neck weren't ever touched, product wasn't fully washed out. She proceeded to add 7-8 products to my hair while drying it, I looked like Cameron Diaz on there's something about Mary when I left. It was so oily and greasy and disgusting. I cried in the car after wasting that kind of time and money. The girl was so so nice, but worst hair experience ever. My usual hair girl was on maternity leave, so I was desperate for a cut. I told my usual hair girl about it and she informed me the salon owner tends to bully those that leave poor reviews about the salon on social media pretty hard- she showed me and I was appalled. The salon itself is very "liberal" politically with all the signage and stickers and conversation. I don't really care and respect everyone's right to their opinion and free speech- just a weird environment for a professional salon in my personal opinion. I won't be back and hopefully other girls there are much better. I think mine was new, but wow, for an hour and $60 (with tip) I was largely disappointed to say the least.

The only reason I give them 4 stars is because their products and sometimes services can be a bit pricey, but with salons I feel like you get what you pay for, so I keep going back PROS: -Currently remodeled, very nice -A lot of the stylists and spa therapists are highly skilled and experienced -One of the only places that I know of that offers eye brow tinting, which I do religiously! -Convenient location -Schedules are very accommodating and they are very willing to work with you if you have to cancel -Friendly staff -You get some (only a bit, but it still counts) money off of products for buying other products and services (I think it has to accumulate) CONS: -Products are expensive, but I'm not sure how much control they have over that -The stylists costs are more expensive the more experienced they are (but I think that's typical for salons?) -Can be kind of noisy in the actual salon -Some stylists have limited availability

I noticed that another reviewer mentioned it being a bit expensive, and I guess if you are used to paying like $30 for a cut that might be true. However, I feel that I got an excellent value.
