Ugh ... so I originally did a 5 star review about a year ago, but this third time is definitely not the charm. The food is amazing, but the quality of customer interaction and service sucks! The owner should be embarrassed having employees that lack the basic common courtesy towards customers. Walked in and not once was greeted... a friendly, "Hi, welcome", or "we'll be with you in a moment " would have made all the difference. We were unfortunately graced with the (I'll sarcastically dub) Miss Personality, Jacqueline D. I'm strictly going by the name that was on the receipt since none of the employees wear name tags. She was the one with the two-toned hair and braids. She was so obviously annoyed with the world and it definitely transferred to her attitude towards us. I was so discouraged, that I did reverse psychology and actually asked her how she is doing. I might give it another try in the future, but even the best of food won't get me to continue patronizing a business that doesn't uphold excellent customer service towards their customers. Came here for breakfast on a Sunday. We walked in right at opening and there was already a little line. Always a good sign. As soon as you enter the building you are welcomed with the smell of homemade cooking. We all got the empanadas and eggs. Your choice of 2 empanadas and eggs served with black beans and rice. I got the chicken mojo and Oscar empanadas. I really don't think there is a wrong choice when it comes to their empanadas! Everything had such great flavors. If you're in Temecula you have to go here. My friend recommended and goes everytime they're in the area. I an see why. Everything I had was great. The latte had the perfect amount of blended foam, the people were super nice. We ordered at the counter and then sst down and they bring you the food. Everything was amazing. I've come here 3-4 times over the last few years and it never disappoints. They've got great Cuban eats and all the staples we all enjoy. I wish they had one closer to San Diego so I could come more often. I've been to a few other Cuban restaurants in SD and this one surpasses them all. I come here every single time I visit Temecula. My sister and I started bringing my cousins as well. We tell everyone about this place. Their are not too many Cuban places around, so when you find a gem like this, you have to hold on too it. My favorites are the salted iced coffee and the platter with a variety of foods like black beans and rice, croquettes, and these balls of mashed potatoes with meat in the middle. I am OBSESSED with the salted coffee! I also love the yucca fries. I first tried yucca here and I have been hooked ever since. I have not found a place that makes yucca like them. The dipping sauces go so well with the fries too. The last time I went, I got a fruit tart and it was so good! It wasn't too sweet and the crust was buttery and delicious! Needless to say, I have never had a bad meal here. It does get crowded though, so make sure to practice patience when waiting in line and for your food. read more

If I could rate this place more than 5 stars I would!! Food is amazing and so is the coffee. I've never had Cuban food before so this set the bar extremely high. I tried the Cilantro Chicken Dish and Ropa Vieja Dish. Both come with rice, beans, and plantains. The plantains were fried to perfection and were warm and sweet. Rice and beans paired perfectly with both proteins. The Dark Chocolate Mocha is perfectly sweetened and will have you addicted. Would definitely come back here again! read more

I really got my hopes up with this place because I somewhat recently discovered Cuban cuisine a while back in San Diego and thought it was great. Unfortunately, I've been a little let down with this place. While I their coffee isn't half bad, their food is a bit lacking. First of all, how do you have a Cuban cafe that serves coffee and baked goods and not offer Pastelitos de Guayaba (Cuban guava pastry)??? *sigh* First disappointment. We got the Cuban shredded beef and some empanadas--the chicken mojo and the chicken cilantro. The empanadas were decent. The shredded beef was not good. I took a couple bites and that was it. What I enjoyed the most were the rice, black beans, and plantains that came with the plate. The biggest disappointment for me was the Mojo sauce. There was just no flavor in it. Mojo sauce is supposed to be garlic-y deliciousness that you can drizzle all over your food. I felt like I was just pouring oil on my food. It was not good. read more

This place is great. Had a Sal latte and Cuban pork sandwich on Memorial Day. Lots of people there even though it is well past lunch hours (holiday season). Pork sandwich is tasty. I knew it was a bad sign from the moment I entered the restaurant: I was waiting in line to order and a customer cut in front of me, clearly very agitated, to complain that after 45 minutes, his food never arrived. The staff blew the customer off like he was in the wrong, as if the customer were inconveniencing the staff. As for me, I ordered a mocha and a coffee for my wife and I. My wife's mocha arrived after 15 minutes. A bit long for a mocha, but she said it was good. The coffee arrived almost 20 minutes after that, at room temperature. I can't say if it was good or not, it was room temperature coffee. I drank it anyways and didn't complain. To the owner: I hope this was just an off day. If not, seriously, get your sh*t together. This isn't how you conduct a successful restaurant business. read more

The food is incredible but I really wish they would have told us we would have to wait over an hour for two small entrees. If we would have know it was going to take this long, we would have at least gone for a walk. We saw a number of people cancelling their order because of how long it was taking. Pros: The food was amazing!!! I ordered the Chicken (Bowl size $8.45) Mojo style. I was concerned it might not be enough since I was starving but it was way more than I could eat. It was excellent.. the chicken, rice, beans, plantains all fantastic. I also ordered the Avocado Cubano Salad (1/2 order $5.95 which was plenty for 2 people to share) and it too was delicious, light and refreshing on this very hot summer day. In addition, when we finished the salad I poured the leftover lime infused olive oil left on the salad plate all over the rest of my Chicken Bowl which made even better. I had a small Red Wine Sangria which was very good and a Sol Latte which was beautifully decorated and very delicious and perfectly hot but just a bit too sweet. The service was excellent. We went up to order, told them it was our first time and asked for a few suggestions as well as descriptions and they were very helpful and right on target as to the portions, and descriptions of each food item we inquired about. It was crowded and we were a little concerned about getting a table prior to our food being ready but everything worked out just fine. Cons: Parking sucks! It was a Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm and we drove around and around for about 15 minutes before finally finding a parking space which ended up being very close. Hot, way too hot! It was 96 degrees out which was too hot to sit on their patio, but sadly inside was way too hot AND stuffy. Ugh... I don't understand why so many places in Temecula don't have or use their A/C as if they are sitting on the coastline with an ocean breeze?? NOT! Overall: Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be coming back here for more! read more

This place makes delicious EVERYTHING! From coffe to sandwiches to dessert....yum. The staff is very friendly and are always willing to answer your questions about the menu. If you're looking for a recommendation, I highly recommend the Cuban Panini and the Cuban coffee. My grandma grew up in Cuba and made us Cuban food growing up and this is the most authentic Cuban food around... hands down.
