The other day I drove over to Haulover Park to see what they offer. It is a huge park. I took the exit to the west not knowing there is also an exit to the east! So I only saw one side of the park, which means that I will need to drive over there again to see the rest of it on the other side. The west side has the Bill Bird Marina with hundreds of boats docked there. From the posted signs, it looks like you need to become a member in order to use the Marina and its huge parking lot. I do not own a boat so this did not apply to me. I saw a gentleman flying his kite as it was a windy but hot day. There was plenty of grassy area for kite lovers to show off their colorful and creative kites. There is also a beach area further to the north for families. I didn't see any vendors so bring a picnic basket. You can see the inlet with boats passing by. I also saw about 75 birds around some left-over rain water in the parking lot by the marina. They were so calm and beautiful. Looked like seabirds and another type of bird. I took a picture of them. Next time I will visit the east side and report back.

Perfect Beach for some snorkeling, leisure and relaxation time! First time here as it is a bit far from my home. I usually go to Deerfield Beach or Boca Raton but lately those beaches have been covered with seaweed. Decided to try Haulover Park which was nice and clear without those pesky seaweeds. Crystal clear waters too. Waters are shallow great for kids and non-swimmers. Rocky area near the inlet has plenty of fish and you can even see manatees and lots of pelicans. Beach was a bit crowded this time due to Labor day weekend but still able to find a nice spot and parking. Had a fun time collecting sea shells too. Will be coming back to this beach soon.

What a beautiful beach, loved everything about it. From the pathway leading to the different towers to the walk through the protective foliage, it is amazing. Close to everything, plenty of restrooms and shower spots, easy to access. Caution to those that are of a prudish nature...avoid the "clothing option" area of the beach if you are easily offended or embarrassed, it is not for you. If you are a freer spirit and accept everyone, flaws and all, this is a judgement free zone for the naturalists amongst us.

What a wonderful space! We came for the Kite festival and it didn't disappoint. There's 2 large parking lots to park (pay by app), restrooms and a spacious grass area. For the event, there was a wonderful variety of food trucks, a large section that was fenced in for inflatables for kids (genius), two diy sand pits, craft tables and vendors, and finally in the spacious grassy area families, couples and individuals either admiring all the mites or flying them. It was a wonderful event to take a picnic and enjoy! The bathrooms were clean and lots of security to help guide people around.

Love this beach location as I been going here for years. Most southern end of Haulover Park right before the inlet. Great location for the kids with an abundance of marine life by the rock jetties. Casually you'll easily find manatees swimming up and down as well. Usually crystal clear water with very little seaweeds. Also near by near the parking lot is an awesome skate and bike park/ramps. Parking is easy and plentiful and uses Pay By Phone. Dog beach is also in the same area and located about several life guard towers from the most southern end. Beautiful and less crowded beach area that's perfect to relax and enjoy. Also it's always an adventure to watch boats and PWC go in and out of the famous and unforgiving at times, Haulover Inlet.

Large beach and bay park on both sides of the A1A. Parking on the marina side opens earlier, the lots by the dog park and skate park open at 8. Nice beach path and tunnels under the main road let you get in a good 5k walk or run. Parking on the weekend is 10 all day, but if you are visiting the dog park you can do an hour or two hour allotment for less.

Been doing to the beach here for years. First time in the dog park. Largest one in North Dade. It was clean with plenty of shaded seating. Highly recommend it. Easy pay by phone parking.

This is the dog park of this beach. For a dog beach it's fairly clean and not too overcrowded. The waves were strong today and huge. Lots of wind and lots of friendly dogs. Once you get to the park based off the gps make sure you know that you have to keep driving down to lot 3 and 4 that's the entrance if you want to go to the dog side.

This was my wife's and my first time at the world-famous Haulover Beach. I'd been to China Beach in St. Martin, but this took the concept of nude beach to a whole nother level! I'm not going to say whether we participated in the nudeness, but the beach and surf itself was outstanding and the clientele was, shall I say, very interesting. So, if you aren't put off by such things, it is probably an interesting tourist stop. It is a bit of a hike from South Beach, where we stayed, but you can get there by Uber/Lyft in 30-35min for ~$30, or you can take a couple of trolley busses for free to 88th street and walk a couple of miles if you are up to it (which is what we ended up doing). If you hike, wear comfortable shoes! My wife and I wore water sandals and ended up with some gnarly blisters on our heels that we had to deal with for the rest of the week! We had hoped to find a rental bike rack once we got to 88th, but we never did, unfortunately. To get oriented, Haulover Park starts right over the bridge to the bay and the south end of the beach starts there as well. That is a family-friendly section of the beach which is clothing required and far enough away from the clothing optional section that your 13-year-old son won't risk an early anatomy lesson! The clothing optional section starts farther north and is marked by a hurricane fence on the beach. It is easiest, however, to walk the path to the West that follows the beach and the tower access path number was 15. You could also take the Miami Beach bus from South Beach all the way to Haulover, but my wife didn't have her phone so we couldn't sign up to pay. At the time of this writing though, starting on 11/17/2023 the bus lines were going to be free while they revamped their bus system. If we ever go back, we will probably utilize the bus to keep it simple, whether we have to pay or not!

When I was a kid, one of my relatives would joke that the "haul" meant you'd be swimming under garbage #dadjoke Located on both sides of Collins Avenue, Haulover Beach is one of those magic things that makes Miami a water sports town and famous for its beaches. There's a water sports rental area, a family friendly beach, a doggie beach and a "let it all hang out" beach. There's also a running track, which is what brought me here Sunday morning. That's right, the morning after Grand Tasting I was leaving my house around 530AM to take part in the 6th Annual Bal Harbour PD 5K race. Sponsored by the municipal department, this race course started on the western side and under the bridge where I was lucky to catch the sunrise. The course itself was along the asphalt patch parallel to the beach for the 3.1 miles. The asphalt was pretty well maintained for fitness enthusiasts. As it were, other folks not taking part in the 5K were also working out there. I was able to personally hit an under 12 minute mile, not bad for alternating between power walk and sprints. It was one of the few times that it was ok to speed past a cop.

This spot is amazing. The beach water is crystal clear, and there are plenty of tables for grilling or picnics. It's really safe, and the parking lot is well-maintained.

It was established in 1896 and began with a pavilion and green space used for sports activities. The park was also used for political and religious gatherings near the railroad tracks and tidal marshes. In 1922, the city constructed a retaining wall to create a formal park. Warren Manning, who had worked for Frederick Law Olmsted Sr., was commissioned for the design. The 62-acre park officially opened in March 1925 and included pathways, tropical landscaping, and a wide pedestrian promenade that extended from East Flagler Street to the bay. The 1926 hurricane destroyed much of the park. A year later, the city installed a bandshell, a grotto, and a rock garden on the waterfront. During World War II, the U.S. Navy took over the park and used it as part of its critical operations in the area. In 1943, the Navy installed the Dade County War Memorial. The military returned the park to the city in 1950, but it was in a battered state. The city built a library that blocked the view of the bay, and the following two decades saw little investment in the park. In 1980, the City of Miami approved a budget of $10 million to redesign the park. Famous Japanese-American modernist artist and landscape architect Isamu Noguchi was chosen for the task. His inspiration was to create a village green for downtown Miami. He convinced the city to remove the R.C. Gardner Bandshell, which had fallen into disrepair, as well as the library, and to restore Manning's pedestrian promenade. His plan also called for adding new amphitheaters and a large fountain at the end of a promenade flowing from East Flagler Street. The busts and statues of Hispanic leaders were relocated to an area outside the park. Eventually, the project ballooned to more than $40 million, much of it paid for through grants. Noguchi passed away during the construction of the park, but the torch was passed to his longtime collaborator, Shoji Sadao, who carried out his plans and vision. Today, Bayfront Park is maintained by the Bayfront Park Management Trust, a limited agency of the City of Miami. It is smaller than when it originally opened and currently encompasses 32 acres. A highlight of the park is its stunning views of Biscayne Bay. The park is also a culturally important outdoor museum, with art and monuments that add beauty and historical perspective. The Dade County War Memorial was restored in the 1990s, and there are statues honoring Claude D. Pepper and Julia Tuttle, the "Mother of Miami." The park still contains all of the major elements of the Noguchi plan, including the centerpiece fountain, although it is currently closed for repairs. It also features the Lee and Tina Hills Playground, open lawn spaces, a sandy beach area, the tropical rock garden, and the historic waterfall from 1926. A visit to downtown Miami would not be complete without a stop at Bayfront Park. The park is within walking distance of attractions such as the Freedom Tower, Bayside Marketplace, Kaseya Center, Museum Park, and numerous restaurants and entertainment venues. If there is a downside, it is that parking in downtown Miami is scarce and expensive. I have attended many outdoor concerts here through the years, and it is also the site of the popular Ultra Music Festival every March. In June, the park will host the FIFA Fan Festival when Miami welcomes the World Cup. A recent visit found me admiring the many sculptures throughout the park. Bayfront Park is still evolving, and future plans call for new lighting, a café, and additional redesign elements. Known as "Miami's Front Porch," it remains a vital outdoor oasis of green space for residents of the surrounding towers and visitors to the city alike.

I needed to renew my ACA instructor certification and wanted to get WPA instructor certification, so I did an ACA Level 1 and 2 SUP workshop and WPA level 1 SUP instructor training/certification with TFY. Meghan is the best SUP instructor/instructor trainer I've had. She's obviously very knowledgeable, but more importantly, she's also awesome at conveying that knowledge. We covered a huge amount of information in the ACA L1/2 workshop, but she made it manageable and easily understandable. The welcome letter she sends prior to class is very helpful and lets you know what to bring, the schedule, and what to expect. Her videos are also extremely helpful to watch beforehand. I thought the ACA workshop would be largely review for me, but I was surprised by how much I learned. She's also very upbeat, encouraging, and patient, and her low-pressure approach creates the perfect environment for learning. She taught high school math for 9 years, and I think her background in education plus her SUP knowledge and skills make her an outstanding instructor and instructor trainer. I'm looking forward to returning for ACA L1/2 instructor certification training.
