    Entering Crandon Park

A great beach park located in Key Biscayne! I've been to many beach parks in South FL and got to come to this one to celebrate one of my best friend's birthdays. He loves this park because it has a lot of trees that he can hang his hammock and slack line on so naturally, he picked this par for his birthday. One of my pet peeves for beaches is when the you have to park far from the beach because I am that girl that brings a bunch of stuff with her but this beach park, it was well worth it. Where we were, the lot was pretty far from the actual beach but there are a lot of things in between the walk like a shelter and skate rink. This beach is a great spot to hang with a big group and, despite it being spring break, this beach wasn't toooo crowded. I was expecting it to be a lot worse than it was but a lot of people told me that the crowd on the Saturday we went was actually a lot more than their usual. Even though it was more populated, you didn't have people and groups side by side on the beach so I call that a win. For parking, they use the parking app and we paid a little over $10 for a whole day at the beach, which is not too bad. If you leave during close (around sundown), beware of all the traffic you'll probably hit on the way home. Other than parking, the only other fee we paid to go to this park was the toll entrance for entering the Rickenbacker Causeway. Overall, a great beach park!

I love this beach! It's usually calmer and it is clean and spacious. I enjoy spending mornings there. It is always very relaxing.

Crandon Park Beach is a green water beach in Key Biscayne. The beach scene is very family oriented. You'll see kids running around, there's a lot of movement. It's not the quietest of beaches but it's not as loud as South Beach! The water itself is more green then blue and it can get a little murky at times! It's not my favorite but to spend a day with the family away from SoBe craziness is OK! There is plenty of parking. Beware that there's a lot of walking from the parking to the beach if you're hauling coolers, umbrellas, etc. Parking on Saturday was about$10 for a couple of hours..

Loved the beach... the sand is sooooo soft and nice! The water was super shallow and calm!!!! Loved it!!! The also have shower areas.. there are of lot of leaves as you enter the water but it was fine! Once past them, you're fine - the water is clean.

I discovered another area of this beach. I went to the sand bar area, and was blown away. This will be a new favourite spot of mine. If you have never been, you must go..

It's the beach, great for family fun time. Easy to park, then just walk and pick your spot on the sand. I would suggest getting there early. Be respectful of wildlife. They have sectioned off areas where turtles made a nest. Be one with nature.

In A Nutshell: -Crandon Park was a good place to hold a triathlon. -There was plenty of parking & it was easy to navigate to. -I like the beautiful beach coastline along the park too. Overall, this is a very popular place for anyone who loves to cycle and/or run.

This is a pretty nice beach to visit. Things I like: it's big and not at all crowded. When we were there, there was a ton of seaweed right at the water line, which made swimming not super fun. You do have to pay for parking (like most places in Miami). I believe it was $5. They have large restroom facilities with showers too.

This is more expensive than my normal beach day, what with the toll to get on Key Biscayne and the parking rate at the beach, but it is so well worth it. It is so relaxing. This is the only beach in South Florida I've been to where you can actually lay under a coconut palm on the sand just feet away from shore. My boyfriend likes shade and I like sun, so we nestled partly beneath a tree for the perfect compromise. People had hammocks tied to trees, and for a while I forgot I lived here because it seems like too much of a paradise. I was confused by a woman who seemed madly rushing back and forth on an ATV all day to later find out she was delivering food! I thought that was pretty cool.

Really nice beach outside Miami. The beachfront is generous, lots of sand. Swimming was fantastic. Public bathrooms were typical public bathrooms. Miami skyline, city vibe while being in an amazing beach setting.

A little swimming after 7 miles biking, then another 7 miles back.

My only con to this beach was that it was pretty dirty. The sand wasn't very clean & I saw trash everywhere. Sadly for me, I also got eaten alive by bugs so my whole body was covered in what I think were noseeum bites that itched for over a week. This was the last beach that I visited during my trip & I didn't have that problem when I went to miami beach. I've also gone to other beaches in the early morning before so I really think this beach just has a lot of bugs or something. Be careful if you're sensitive to bug bites like I am. Overall I still recommend this beach if you get here at a slower time because the views are immaculate & I have pictures/videos to last a lifetime. The bite scars are still there but it was worth it.

Nixon Beach (Sandbar) is a popular boating destination spot which is situated approximately a…read morequarter mile south west of Key Biscayne. It's a great place to anchor up for the afternoon and enjoy the weather, scenery and the people you happen to be with. At low tide the water is about waist deep and it's clear blue. It can be a little breezy at times which can cause the boat to rock a bit, but if your use to that then you won't have any problems. You can snorkel and paddle board here and the waters are usually very calm. On the weekends if the weather is nice, it will be packed with day trip boaters, so get here early to secure a nice spot. Now the historical footnote. The sandbar is named after Richard Nixon, the thirty seventh President of The United States. I do vaguely remember him as the President, so I'm aging myself here He vacationed frequently in Key Biscayne during the 1960s and had many political benefactors in the Miami area. Back then, Key Biscayne was more or less a sleepy area with one luxury hotel and a lot of small old Florida style single homes. In 1969, shortly after Nixon became President, he purchased three of these homes on Bay Lane, at well below market prices from Florida Senator George Smathers. The houses were in a compound that had a private beach. The Secret Service & US military had to construct a helipad to accommodate Marine One. The cost of the helipad and security upgrades to the residences was estimated at about 400k. Nixon made fifty trips there during the course of his Presidency (no, there wasn't an audio taping system in the place). Now here is the kicker, after resigning in 1974 he sold the properties, which included the helipad, at a huge profit (no, not a crook ) and was accused of benefiting from taxpayers expense. For you movie buffs Scarface was also filmed on Key Biscayne. The residences were torn down in '04 when a local real estate bought them and built a modern mansion. In addition to taking in the beautiful natural views, you can also admire the multi multi million dollar mansions that are now on Key Biscayne. Mr. Nixon probably should have held on to those properties a little bit longer.

This is a major spot for boaters searching for a nearby spot to enjoy shallow waters amongst one of the most populated and lively water spots in miami. You can't swim over here so obviously a boat is required but be prepared for a plentiful bunch of party people. With a loaded cooler and plenty of music, you'll fit in just too. It's not for the faint of heart and unless it's on a weekday, I wouldn't label it kid-friendly on most summer weekends. It's not a far drive so arriving here doesn't take much fuel if you're coming from a nearby marina. Don't forget your sunscreen because it's crucial for those days where there's not a cloud in sight.

She gave us some history of the Everglades and was great about finding us gators. The airboats only cover a very small circle portion of the Everglades, which was the only disappointing part. I was hoping there would be more open canals to float/drive down to get more of the airboat experience. The time on the water is about 45 minutes. We also got to stick around to catch the alligator show hosted by the Gator Boys. Our package also came with a pic with a baby alligator which was cool to hold. It did feel a bit like an assembly line, even though it was just our group taking the pics, where we didn't have time to hold the baby gator or ask too many questions about it. Def stop in the back to see the albino gators and other wildlife.
