We had lunch at Glass & Vine next door yesterday, which is apparently connected to or located on Peacock Park. That is how I learned about this City of Miami park. It is open from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm 7 days a week. It is wheelchair accessible and there is a wheelchair accessible parking lot for free. They have a public restroom which is shared with the restaurant. They are dog friendly with dogs on a leash. There are also picnic tables for families. Peacock has a playground that has equipment for all ages, basketball courts, a softball field, and soccer fields. There's also a recreation building/ community center with ping-pong, foosball, and five computers with free Wi-Fi. This is ideal for teenagers. There are also slides and swings for children. (I wasn't able to get pictures of them). It's a very well thought out and well equipped city park. read more

We didn't get to see each the peacocks roaming the Coconut Grove neighborhood but loved exploring through the beautiful park. This park offers it all... playgrounds, ample grass fields, tennis court and a baseball field. It was a beautiful day in Miami and everyone was out enjoying the sunny weather. This park offers a lovely view of the water from its boardwalk, making it a peaceful little escape from the city. It feels like a hidden gem tucked just far enough away to unwind. A big bonus is having Glass & Vine right next door. It's a great spot to grab a bite, and the area is welcoming to both kids and pets. The recreation building is another nice touch, with indoor games like ping pong and foosball, plus computers with free WiFi. I really appreciate how thoughtfully designed this park is. We are frequent visitors of Glass and Vine. We love the service, hospitality, food, and atmosphere (especially the music). We consider G&V a gem of the grove and highly recommend you check them out the croquettes are amazing, so are the sangrias, and all of their sandwiches. Can't really go wrong with this as a choice for either casual or more elevated occasions. When you go ask for Mark or TJ they're the best. read more

Looking for peacocks, we decided to relax after our walk through Coconut Grove. I was told they haven't seen peacocks in over a year. The Recreational Center is open for activities after 10am. This is an awesome park. It uses all of it 9 and a half acres and has a little bit of everything. Parking can be a bit challenging here. There is metered parking available, but you are probably better off parking at a nearby lot that you pay with an app. It is a little bit of a walk though and you pass a couple are parks, Regatta and Kenneth M  Myers Bayside Parks to get here from the lot. This park has a lot of shade and with shade there are people. This was the busiest park in the area by far. It is located right behind the Glass and Vine restaurant. The park has an awesome full basketball court that is fenced in. It also has a fenced in soccer field that is lined with artificial turf. The court and field are near the back of the park and they are nice and very well maintained. There is a bank of swings and two jungle gyms with slides. One jungle gym is for older kids and a smaller one is for, you guessed it, smaller kids. The park also has a sand volleyball court, but it is in need of some TLC. It has seen better days. The baseball/kickball field is older, but well maintained and other activities such as football, catch, and frisbee can be played there, but probably on a cooler day. The park does have an urban camper encampment on the perimeter by the picnic tables. This seems to be an area that the local urban campers congregate. The park does host event and small concerts and has an indoor recreation center in the front. All in all this is a really nice park that has offers a lot to do. It has a lot of shade and is closer to the heart of Coconut Grove than the other nearby parks. Out of the other two nearby parks, this is the one I liked the best. This is definitely a place to check out. read more

Not many waterfront park options in Miami and it really is a shame. This park has a nice boardwalk over the water so you get a good look at all the sailboats. The big field often hosts events and soccer practices but I hardly ever see a baseball game being played. As you get away from the water you have a nice shaded playground, a basketball court and a futsal field. The canopy and the ocean breeze make it a pleasant time. Five stars for the little pier at Peacock Park. Tucked away behind the mangroves lies a tiny stretch of waterfront pier that is so delightful. My mom coined the term "eco-therapy" aka therapy from walking outdoors based on her time visiting this spot on the daily. Why is it the best? The trees block you from seeing what's behind you and you can just take a look at the water, the sailboats and the Miami skyline. If you visit at sunrise, there's a stillness here that slows down the crazy that can sometimes be Miami. The pier is also big enough that you can get a workout in if it isn't too crowded. The rest of the park itself has a nice little jogging trail, and a park connected to glass and vine for the kiddos. The park also boasts community yoga from time to time, which is awesome. Honestly, it doesn't get more Grove than Peacock park. It's grounded with chill spots to gather and reflect, which is in essence the wonderful vibe about Coconut Grove. read more

One of several parks located on Biscayne Bay in the grove, Peacock Park is 9.4 acres. I used to think this park was named for the peacocks that roam Coconut Grove but now that I know a lot more of Miami history it turns out it was named for the pioneer family whose last name was Peacock. Charles and Isabella Peacock were early settlers in what was then called Cocoanut Grove. They moved from England in 1875 with their three sons to be close to Charles' brother, Jack Peacock, who was keeper of the House of Refuge on Biscayne Bay. They opened the first hotel on Biscayne Bay in 1883. It had Bay View in the name but it was later changed to the Peacock Inn. It had 30 rooms to serve visitors from the north, mainly New York and Boston. The Peacock's sold their hotel in 1902 and it was torn down in 1926. A park named in honor of the Peacock's was built on the site and dedicated to them in 1973. Peacock Park is located very close to the shops and restaurants of coconut Grove. It doesn't have it's pwn parking lot so finding street parking can be difficult but there is a parking garage across the street. Park amenities include a basketball court, softball field, 2 soccer courts, kids playground and a multipurpose large open field used for a variety of outdoor games, the rec building, and restaurant, Glass and Vine. At the back of the park is a boardwalk that extends over Biscayne Bay. Every February the park is the site of the very popular Coconut Grove Arts festival. There is so much history here. In a very crowded part of Miami it is nice that the city decided to set aside a small part of green space to commemorate the contributions of it's pioneer families. read more

I love the Grove and find that many cool events are hosted here throughout the year. Not only is a beautiful open green park that's right in the heart of Coconut Grove but it also has a magical view of the bay which makes it one of my favorite parks to visit. Parking can be tricky but there's meter spots all around so if you're lucky you will snag one. If there's not an event going on, then there's no admittance fee and you can use the green area for your enjoyment. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed. Bring a bag to pick up your dogs poop so we can work collectively to keep Miami's dwindling open green areas in great condition. There's plenty of shopping, restaurants, and bars within walking distance which makes the Grove that much of a cooler spot to visit. read more

This is definitely a family oriented park for sure! I had not being to the grove for quite some time, yet we decided to stop by this weekend. We were pleasantly surprise due to this park and the new restaurant addition. It is definitely one of my favorites from now on, it has 2 playgrounds separating younger kids from 5+ which as a parent makes life a bit easier. The playground and all around it has synthetic grass which is also a plus when kids fall playing. The trees are well taken care forming a beautiful natural canopy and in Miami weather, the more shade the better. Overall, can't wait to come back with my son who had so much fun. read more

My first real love's kiss (I was 16); attending a plethora of concerts, festivals, bazaars, and the like; CGAF; soccer & rugby games (as a spectator, of course)... For the most part your park is clean and kept up well, although after the big events you're full of trash and litter (people suck, I know). There's a large field for the events and games, and you have a small area that has swing sets and a playground for the kids. The parking situation here is one of the worst around. Whenever you are going to one of the larger events you will pay a pretty penny to park close, or park on the other side of the Grove and walk over. Other than that, this place is great! I've been to a few of the events here and while the success of said festivals is solely on the promoters, the fact that Peacock Park has hosted such varied events from beerfests to pumpkin patches shows that the city "gets it" and wants to draw many different crowds to the Grove. I have a secret love affair with the Grove as I worked there for many years and I would love to see it get back to it's glory days. I think it's still a whiles away, but I hope one day, it will get back there. The park is spread out, good layout and hosts some awesome kickball events - which I have never been a part of but always passed by and looked on with envy - they look so fun! We went to the 4th of July Celebration in this year (2017) and had a blast. We loved it so much that we are repeating going to this celebration next year. Our list of things to take: big blanks to sit on, nice picnic, toys for the kids to play with on the lawn like balls to toss around, bubbles to blow etc. lawn chairs. Shopping cart to haul everything. Bug spray. Considering attending this celebration next year? Arrive early so that you can get a nice spot on the lawn and enjoy a day at the park before it gets to packed with people the fireworks begin. A lot of people go to this event and it gets PACKED. I'm talking people on top of people. You'll likely make some new friends close to the end of the night because you'll have others set up their chairs and blankets 2 inches away from you from all angles. That's not big deal tho. Parking your car isn't an impossible thing to do in Coconut Glove. There's parking everywhere. You have a public parking lot across from the park, meters along the sidewalk, another lot next to the park and more parking in CocoWalk. read more

Attended the beer tasting event Grovetoberfest at Peacock Park on Saturday afternoon. Quality Peacock Park is another picturesque space in the Coconut Grove area. Sitting right on the water, the large park often hosts events and gatherings. It made for a great location for Grovetoberfest, which brought out a hundreds of brewers from Florida and beyond. However, the park also is a good spot to exercise, hang out, and bring your dog on a normal day. Quantity The park is a good size, taking up nearly 10 acres between Coconut Grove and Biscayne Bay. It is primarily green space, but it does have a playground, some baseball fields, and a small wooden pathway along the water. Value The event I was attending had a fee, but the park itself is normally free to visit. Ambiance Peacock Park is a good sized park located in Coconut Grove. Situated just east of CocoWalk and along Biscayne Bay, the park is in prime location. Towards the west end of the park they have a small playground area set up for children. Then as you make your way through the park they have large open green space as well as baseball diamonds. Near the water a small wooden bridge allows you to get beautiful scenic views of the nearby docks and out to the ocean. There is not a lot of shade at the park, so expect the heat during the day. Also, know bugs love to swarm near the water. Crowd Normally the park is filled with people working out, kids running around, and people walking their dogs. It is a large park that never gets too full except during large events. On this day it was packed with adults trying different beers that Florida had too offer. But even for the event they kept the park dog friendly. Service The park is always kept in good condition. Even with a large event they still made sure to keep everything clean and in good working order. Parking There is a small lot near the park that has paid parking. There is also a fair amount of paid street parking in the area. Extra Peacock Park worked as a perfect venue for Grovetoberfest, as it does for many other events throughout the year. The large open space allows for crowds to gather without becoming packed. And while it does not have much more to offer than views and a small playground, it works well for a stroll with a dog or a place to let young kids run free. read more

So I joined a softball league that the games are at peacock park. I've never been in this area until now. The Park is actually really nice and offers an ocean view, restaurant's and even a little trail for runners. Even after softball season is over, I will make it out to peacock park more often. Go for a light run and end up at sandbar or anyone where else the locals recommend. read more

This park is easily my favorite in the city. The location is perfect as it is within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and bookstores in the Grove. It's situated right on the water and you can walk along the boardwalk to get a glimpse of the bay. The park is kept up well and there is a parking lot adjacent to it. You have to pay to park your car if you're driving there - but where in the Grove don't you pay for parking? A few years ago I was in a kickball league (yes a kickball league) that played at the park. It was great getting playing at the baseball fields and being able to walk to bars afterward. The field is lit at night so it's very practical. The Coconut Grove branch library is located next to the park, which makes it great if you want to check out a book and read it outdoors. The park also serves as a great oasis when the grove has its festivals. It's great to sit on the lawn and just relax and enjoy the sun. Small and understated this park is a great place to get away from it all in the middle of the city. read more

About 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to stay with some family in the Grove, and thus, I was introduced to a privileged area of town in terms of outdoor activities. Peacock park is a great backdrop for pursuit of happiness. I try to end my runs in this area here at Peacock and just chill out and stretch and cool down. We have played pick up games here, attended concerts and just enjoyed hanging out. Great location and wonderful view of the ocean, nevermind the surroundings. The bay breeze is always welcome during hot summer nights of playing and drinking. Oh, the things that go on in my head after celebrating 4th of July here. Well, what to say? It was my first time visiting this park, and I was amazed at the organizational skills that it took to manage their 4th of July event. There were awesome food vendors, got a really yummy gyro, and was amused by the crowd. For it being a family-oriented venue, there was a lot of grinding going on. It seemed like fireworks were being set off, and I am not talking about the ones that light up in the sky. LOL. Very interesting! Anyways, about the park? It seems like a nice park. It had a really cool field and kickball/softball area, but other than that, it did not have anything else. I hate to give a public park a 2 because I am a firm believer that everyone needs to get outside once in a while, but I just wish it had a snazzy playground. It's right by the water, so that's a plus, but I wish it had more. I will probably go to more events here because their 4th of July celebration was amazing. It was the first time I was able to lie on the grass and look at the fireworks, but I probably would not make this a place to go to because it did not have any particular defining features. 2.5 in my book! read more

I love peacock park. It's a park with peacocks! And statues of peacocks! Yay! I am a fan of peafowl, so it's nice to see them on occasion cruising around looking awesome. Double yay to being host to pretty much any kind of event in the Grove. From beer fests to kickball to yoga classes, this park welcomes everyone in and provides a gorgeous spot along the Bay. It's mostly an open field, but there's some shady tables up by the little glass house, near the playground. The openness is what makes the park so great for large events and sports. There's street parking along the road, but for event, you'll want to take a ride share or park far far away and walk over, bc they charge an arm and a leg to park in a lot near the park. read more

Pros: Decent park, nice amount of green space, on Biscayne Bay and within walking distance to the heart of Coconut Grove. Nice softball field as well. Cons: Where are the views to the water??? Peacock Park is located on the water but you can barely see it unless you take an elevated path around the greenery.....they should really rip the greenery out along the bay so people could see and appreciate the amazing views. The whole eastern side of the park is shaded and poorly landscaped. This could really be fixed up nicely. This park has a lot of potential, but needs an overhaul asap! read more

I love Peacock Park!! I've been going there ever since I was a kid. There aren't that many large parks around any more where you can just run around and have fun. Because it's in the heart of Coconut Grove, it usually the place where the large festivals are held. Plus it right there on the water so you have some fantastic views of the bay.
