We came, we saw, we left. We came here specifically for the seafood fest. The space is perfect for any outdoor festivities but I dont think they realized the amount of people coming cause parking alone took over an hour. Besides that walking in there's plenty of space for kids to run around and to bring a blanket and form your own spot. There was music in the VIP.section along with the Dolphin game....that's where we should've been..lol. But there were plenty of food trucks with tacos, burgers, fries, tenders etc. Weird thing was we didnt see as many seafood options as we hoped for. Regardless it was a happy Sunday park day

Thank God they didn't build condos here. The old Convention Center site. Great place for frisbee, flying a kite. Plenty o'room. Lay out, stretch out. Toes in the grass.

A nice park running alongside the main road in Coconut Grove and very near to the Coconut Grove Marina. They offer grass areas, seats and tables, walkways, nice trees, shade and even a skate park. Here is some information I found out about it. See below. Named for the picturesque sailing regattas that often dot the horizon, Regatta Park is situated at Dinner Key Marina alongside Biscayne Bay in historic Coconut Grove. The breezy waterfront park is ideal for anyone who enjoys a maritime setting where sailboat masts bob in the breeze and the turquoise bay glistens on the horizon. While there are picnic tables and walkways for outdoor recreation, the biggest draws are the park's waterfront views and its access to the bay via a boat ramp. While you're there, stroll along the piers at the marina and check out the sailboats and yachts at the docks and moored just offshore. It's the largest marina in Miami, with nearly 600 berths, making it an excellent destination to charter a fishing boat or a sunset sail for a safe and socially distanced outdoor activity. A cornerstone of the local community, Regatta Park also plays host to the annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival in February, Grovetoberfest in October and various World Cup Sailing competitions throughout the year. This also offers some interesting information aswell, worthy of a read - https://landscapearchitect.com/landscape-articles/bye-bye-coconut-grove-convention-center-welcome-regatta-park

2/10/2018 - Great meeting place this weekend for the RUN-niversary get together of 1kchallenge Miami run club. I went with the PuraVida Runners group. There were at least 100 runners meeting at 5:30 am. There is plenty of free and safe parking here. After a glorious 8 miles in the surrounding area, we came back to this park and pulled out chairs and some food and just relaxed with some mimosas and some well deserved yummy treats. The scenery is beautiful with the ocean on one side and the city of Coconut Grove on the other. Great place for cyclists as well and families. It is neatly maintained.

This iconic Coconut Grove park was named in honor of David Thomas Kennedy (April 7, 1934 -…read moreSeptember 4, 2014). Kennedy was an attorney and politician who served as the Mayor of Miami from 1970 until 1973. Kennedy is credited with drafting the plans for the creation of Miami's Bicentennial Park which opened in 1976. David T. Kennedy Park is 20 acres and sits on the coastal mangrove shore of Biscayne Bay where there is access for kayaking and paddleboarding. Benches are set up so you can catch the sunrise and sunset and bay breeze. Park amenities include a dog park, open lawn, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic table, playground, and volleyball court. The expansive lawns, tree-lined walking paths, and a range of recreational facilities make this park a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Also in the park is A.C.'s Icees frozen lemonade truck selling refreshing treats near the parking lot. This frosted lemonade stand has been a park land mark since 1978. Even on the weekend, the park is spacious enough to never feel crowded. If there is one drawback, it would be the lack of parking during peak use time. Overall, David T. Kennedy Park is a fantastic representation of the Miami Dade Park system by combining relaxation and recreation in one beautiful location. Whether you're visiting for a few hours or spending the day, the park provides a welcoming recreational space for outdoor activities and leisurely enjoyment.

While it's not your traditional beach, it certainly got the job done for me ‍ I honestly loved the lake like feel. The fact that there were small fishes grazing along the surf and the muddy like sand upon reaching the water (which definitely smoothed away some calluses while I swam)! It truly is a great beach for families with kids, something I learned there while entertaining a whole bunch of kiddos with my hula hoop (which I, personally, didn't mind since I love kids but wanted to give a heads up for anyone that's looking for something more kid free). Once the sun began to set, I grabbed some wine from the beach's restaurant. The wine was amazing and very reasonably priced but what was even BETTER? The song selection! I stayed a whole extra 30 minutes just to vibe out There couldn't have been a better way to start my vacation, honestly! I think it's more than worth it to visit this spot the next time you're in South Florida

These birds are adorable, but they are threatened by habitat loss. There is a volunteer who regularly checks for Piping Plovers during migration, and she looks for bands that reveal the path of the bird's migratory flight. It's important that we have places for these birds to forage, and I hope the city continues to protect this beach for that use. The bathrooms were a welcome amenity. I had problems paying the parking fee, it was a complicated process. There were about 10 peafowl (peacocks) that roamed the park, a remaining vestige of when this was a zoo. There were many wild birds throughout the park.
