Living in the concrete jungle of a big city, it is great to know that there are green spaces to explore and discover. It can be self-guided or guided by a naturalist, the five nature centers @MiamiDadeParks: ADBarnes Park, Crandon Park, Arch Creek Park, Bill Sadowski Park and Castellow Hammocks Parks connect me to nature, history and the wonderful would of wildlife that share our habitats or visit during migration. The naturalist are have a nice balance of nature-based experiences and science sense, but the best part is that there is something for all ages. Summer/Winter/Spring and Day Camp, Campfire, hikes day & night, animal collection at Bill Sadowski and just outdoor adventures from kayaking, archery, fishing and simply being out in nature on a trail, even connecting to the Tequestas through archaeological dig and ghost tours. SEE MIAMI DIFFERENTLY WITH MIAMI ECOADVENTURES! Thank you for the adventures, lessons and just preserving the green spaces in our urban home. Driving by these parks is a reminder that its more than just a ball fields and playgrounds - our parks are priceless and make memorable moments. Keep up the great work! Your Biggest Fan!

Visited A.D Barnes Park Nature Center with my kids this week and I was shocked of how beautiful this nature preserve is. It was nice to get out for some fresh air and visit our local outdoor nature center. The trails are very well maintained and there is so much to see and learn while having fun. On my walk I encountered a very nice naturalist that explained to me a little about the habitat as well. I also found out that Miami EcoAdventures does environmental educational excursions such as kayaking, snorkeling and even archery! Can't wait to try some of these things out.

I visited the Crandon Park Nature Center in November 2019 with a group of friends for a Key Biscayne Kayak Adventure with Miami EcoAdventures. This is one of the most stunning places to kayak in Miami! The ecotour takes you along the shoreline of Crandon Park's Bear Cut Preserve, one of the only natural beaches left in the greater Miami area. The kayaking and pace is leisurely and the route is shallow (max 5 feet) which allows you to see the beautiful seagrass beds and sand flats. At one point we even saw a stingray glide beneath us! The tour takes you to the northern end of Key Biscayne where you get to check out a fossilized mangrove reef, a structure that formed over 6000 years ago and one of only two in the world, which was teeming with fish! After checking out the reef, we glided in to the mangroves where we could literally hear a pin drop, it was so quiet. Such a peaceful spot for a water break and to learn from our naturalists about the importance of the mangrove ecosystem not only for wildlife but for humans too. Overall, our naturalists were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and curated a great experience for us! After the 2.5 hour tour, we decided to have lunch in the courtyard of the nature center before checking out the exhibits. We learned that the nature center is run by Miami EcoAdventures and a non-profit, the Biscayne Nature Center and they also have Miami-Dade Public School teachers on-site who run field trips during the school year. They have some great displays featuring things like shells, sea beans, marine debris, sea turtles (complete with shells and skulls!), and some live exhibits including tanks with seahorses, jellyfish, and a collection of colorful reef fish. They also had an interpretive touch tank where we got to see some of the critters we saw on our tour (sea cucumbers and sea urchins) up close and learn from another knowledgeable naturalist about the special characteristics of each! From there, the naturalist gave us a trail brochure from the front desk and oriented us to one of the trails in the shaded hammock adjacent to the center where self-guided trail markers taught us about some of the unique plants and critters that call this ecosystem home. We spotted some beautiful flowering plants and watched as a woodpecker popped in and out of a dead tree. The brochure also outlined other self-guided trails, including two that form a loop into the northern portions of the Preserve that meet at an overlook where you can see the fossilized mangrove reef and mangroves from above. Overall, I highly recommend paying a visit to Miami EcoAdventures at Crandon Park, whether you're there for one of their exciting ecotours or just looking to get some insight into the unique ecosystems and wildlife while exploring Bear Cut Preserve, one of Miami's truly hidden gems!

The boat was scheduled for 4PM and no one had informed us of where the boat would be or who the captain was. The address provided on the website is a general address for several boats to pick up people so we had to wait for 1.5 hours! We called multiple times to obtain the information but they kept delaying the information as they did not have it since they had five other charter boats taking off. The staff in the pick up location informed us (and the captain of the boat confirmed) we were double booked! The prior boat group was scheduled to end at 5PM and we were scheduled to start at 4PM. But FEELING YACHTY never communicated this or apoligized for the tardiness. Aside from that the captain was great! But unfortunately, in the beginning of the boat tour the AC was not working on the inside and toward the end of the trip the water for bathroom and sink got shut off. We ended up getting on the boat since FEELING YACHTY does not provide a refnd or rescheuling. THEY ARE NOT FLEXIBLE AND DO NOT COMMUNICATE. You are better off with another company, heed my warning!

I used WhatsApp and they respond really quickly. Just provide details like the day, amount of people and the time. You can also book through their website which I also did but WhatsApp was immediate service. We quickly found an option that fit our budget and they send over a contract to sign. A small deposit is due during the time you sign your contract with the remaining balance and tip on the day of your trip. They offer drink and food services but we opted to bring our own as they provide an ice cooler. Our captain, Daniel, was great. He texted me right before and we let him know we were running late. Our Uber dropped us off at the wrong location which made us more late but he still gave us our time back when he did not have to all. Once he helped us onto the boat, he asked where we wanted to go and took us to a small island with other boats. He also gives you full access to the music. They also have an option for a large floatie for everyone to lay out and relax on. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a private boat ride. Prices are very reasonable. Easily our favorite excursion on the trip!

The boat was spacious, clean and the crew was very helpful. Great option of snacks and drinks. Jorge from the team did a fantastic job keeping everyone safe explaining the needed safety procedures and politely redirecting people if they stood in an unsafe place or position during the tour. Dr. George has a plethora of knowledge about literally anything we seem to pass by and provides the commentary in a generally neutral and positive way (not always easy to do when discussing Miami's history!). There was also staff onboard from the museum that were very helpful to answer questions. Just a couple points of feedback about the ship: the snack and drink bar seemed to not be able to accept card, due to technical difficulties, which was a bummer since many people nowadays don't have cash. Also, the indoor space at the bottom seemed to be kept very cold. But of course, there were lots of other options for seating including the top that is covered and the front part of the boat had a great view and plenty of room for lots of people.

You should reserve tickets in advance if you want to secure a time. The departure point in Bayside Marketplace, an open air mall and bar / restaurant / entertainment complex in downtown. Parking here (for 2+ hours, which is pretty much required to cover the entire cruise + check-in window) was $34! You are required to check in 45 minutes before departure, probably so they can ensure you don't show up at the last minute and demand a refund. From what I could tell, there were several other boat tour companies also hawking trips from multiple booths at this mall, so maybe you can just walk up for some of them (?). We boarded about 15 minutes before departure. This involved getting forced photos taken, which is always a bad sign to me. If you had arrived early enough (before we did) they even tracked you down before the departure to try to sell you photos. In our case, we just exited afterwards and never got the sales pitch. The cruise itself is not bad. Miami's Biscayne Bay is certainly scenic, and the boats, homes, and skyline you see are interesting. My advice would be to sit on the right / starboard side, as you can generally get better views from there. The cruise starts along the Miami shoreline, then heads out into the bay past various islands. Eventually, you come upon a few areas that are densely developed with high-end homes. The owners of the homes were mostly people whom I'd never heard of - local retiree billionaires who sold pharmaceutical companies, whoever founded Instagram, someone who owns and NBA franchise, etc. Occasionally some name would come up that I had heard of (people recently tried or jailed for things, musicians from a bit further back, etc.). You then pass some even more exclusive island with more generic condos where other celebrities (most of whom I'd heard of) live at least part time. Then you pass the working port area with the cranes and large container ships en route back. The last 10 minutes of the cruise is again the Miami shoreline. The guy doing the narration was good - he seamlessly switched between English and Spanish and sounded fluent in both. There was a bar on board and some of the tour group were quite enthusiastic about it. However, given that I was facing 30+ minutes in Friday Miami rush hour right after the tour, I didn't really want to add alcohol to that scenario. In summary - this wasn't bad, it just wasn't "for us". The scenery was nice, but a lot of the 'content' was stuff I just don't care about.
