My sister surprised me with this horseback riding experience as a gift, and I was genuinely…read moreexcited--especially about riding along the beach and having my family, including my 4-year-old son, watch from the cabanas. It was something I had really been looking forward to. Unfortunately, the experience did not match what was advertised. When it was our turn, our group included two younger children (around age 8 and up), and because of that, the guides decided not to take us through the main beach route. Instead, we only went along the shoreline for what felt like less than two minutes before being redirected back onto a road. We were told this change was due to the presence of the children and the guides not feeling comfortable continuing along the intended beach path. While I understand safety is important, this was never communicated beforehand. We paid for a beach horseback riding experience--not a brief pass by the water followed by a road ride. What made it more disappointing was that my family had been waiting to watch this special moment, only to find out last minute that we wouldn't even be going through the designated beach area that was part of the tour. This experience was not cheap, and we did not receive what was advertised. I would strongly recommend that if you book this tour, you confirm in advance that your group will actually be riding along the beach and not grouped with younger children, as this may significantly change your experience without prior notice. Overall, I was very disappointed and felt that the experience did not deliver what was promised.

As we were walking around, a lovely trainer named Isa introduced herself, told us about the school, and introduced us to some of her wonderful ponies. She was so welcoming and kind that we decided to reach out and book a lesson. That's when we connected with Adrienne, and our first impression of Elysian was confirmed: this is a beautiful clean show barn that truly respects the sport and, most importantly, the horses and ponies. Adrienne was punctual, patient, encouraging, and incredibly positive with my daughter from the very beginning. She is extremely knowledgeable and has such a kind and thoughtful way of teaching. She has already helped my daughter improve her technique while making every lesson enjoyable and confidence-building. Everyone we have met at Elysian has been so friendly, dedicated, and passionate about what they do. We were also so happy to see Isa again, and she remembered us from our first visit, which made us feel even more welcome. That includes the workers like Israel. We are very grateful to have found Elysian Stables and are excited for the wonderful journey ahead. We look forward to many happy memories, new accomplishments, and lots of time spent learning and growing together!

The staff was absolutely darling with us, they taught us how to brush the horses before riding, how to clean their hooves and place the saddle ourselves. They then had us practice before the trail so we got used to our horses and their personalities and finally we went on an hour and a half trail ride which was absolutely beautiful and serene. My partner is 6'8", so we were a little concerned about whether they would have a horse that could comfortably accommodate her height, but the staff reassured us right away and made sure everything would work out. Their communication and willingness to accommodate us made us feel extremely confident and excited about the experience. When we arrived, everything was organized and relaxed. One thing I really appreciated was that they allowed me to ride the same horse I had during my previous visit, named Legacy. Legacy is such a beautiful and calm horse, and it made the experience even more special being reunited with him again. Our guide Giana was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire ride feel comfortable and fun. She checked in on everyone throughout the ride, made sure we were confident handling the horses, and shared helpful tips along the way. Between the great staff, well-trained horses, and excellent guidance from Giana, it turned into a truly memorable experience for both of us.
