Had an amazing time on the "Miami Lady" ship of the Island Queen company on a special tour of Stiltsville with the HistoryMiami museum, presented by Dr. George. The boat was spacious, clean and the crew was very helpful. Great option of snacks and drinks. Jorge from the team did a fantastic job keeping everyone safe explaining the needed safety procedures and politely redirecting people if they stood in an unsafe place or position during the tour. Dr. George has a plethora of knowledge about literally anything we seem to pass by and provides the commentary in a generally neutral and positive way (not always easy to do when discussing Miami's history!). There was also staff onboard from the museum that were very helpful to answer questions. Just a couple points of feedback about the ship: the snack and drink bar seemed to not be able to accept card, due to technical difficulties, which was a bummer since many people nowadays don't have cash. Also, the indoor space at the bottom seemed to be kept very cold. But of course, there were lots of other options for seating including the top that is covered and the front part of the boat had a great view and plenty of room for lots of people. read more

There seemed to be only 2 options for short boat tours from Miami - speedboats or this one. The focus of this tour was "homes of millionaires". You should reserve tickets in advance if you want to secure a time. The departure point in Bayside Marketplace, an open air mall and bar / restaurant / entertainment complex in downtown. Parking here (for 2+ hours, which is pretty much required to cover the entire cruise + check-in window) was $34! You are required to check in 45 minutes before departure, probably so they can ensure you don't show up at the last minute and demand a refund. From what I could tell, there were several other boat tour companies also hawking trips from multiple booths at this mall, so maybe you can just walk up for some of them (?). We boarded about 15 minutes before departure. This involved getting forced photos taken, which is always a bad sign to me. If you had arrived early enough (before we did) they even tracked you down before the departure to try to sell you photos. In our case, we just exited afterwards and never got the sales pitch. The cruise itself is not bad. Miami's Biscayne Bay is certainly scenic, and the boats, homes, and skyline you see are interesting. My advice would be to sit on the right / starboard side, as you can generally get better views from there. The cruise starts along the Miami shoreline, then heads out into the bay past various islands. Eventually, you come upon a few areas that are densely developed with high-end homes. The owners of the homes were mostly people whom I'd never heard of - local retiree billionaires who sold pharmaceutical companies, whoever founded Instagram, someone who owns and NBA franchise, etc. Occasionally some name would come up that I had heard of (people recently tried or jailed for things, musicians from a bit further back, etc.). You then pass some even more exclusive island with more generic condos where other celebrities (most of whom I'd heard of) live at least part time. Then you pass the working port area with the cranes and large container ships en route back. The last 10 minutes of the cruise is again the Miami shoreline. The guy doing the narration was good - he seamlessly switched between English and Spanish and sounded fluent in both. There was a bar on board and some of the tour group were quite enthusiastic about it. However, given that I was facing 30+ minutes in Friday Miami rush hour right after the tour, I didn't really want to add alcohol to that scenario. In summary - this wasn't bad, it just wasn't "for us". The scenery was nice, but a lot of the 'content' was stuff I just don't care about. read more

Originally scheduled on another cruise line, but we were the only 3 passengers. So they asked us to wait 30 minutes for their sister company (Island Queen) to go out. Of course we did- and glad we did! This one was a bigger boat, open air top, but still had a roof in case it rained (which it did just a little). We sat in the back, on the left- great seats! Honestly, I just loved seeing the skyline and the feel of the river. The story and the drinks were "nice to haves". Would definitely use this company again! read more

Took the island queen boat from bayside this past weekend with some family visiting from out of town. It was a great cruise with lots of information on Miami and the rich and famous houses. We had a price on Groupon and they matched the price getting the tickets for a great price. The guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor - you could tell the crew enjoyed their jobs. Today's we're visiting Bayside Marketplace in Miami, Florida. Being from Chicago, this space reminds me of Navy Pier and Oakbrook Mall all wrapped up into one location. There's lots of shopping, places to eat, and tours to take on the water, including speedboats and there's a huge ferris wheel.  We're here specifically to check out the Millionaire's Row Cruise with Island Queen Cruises and Tours. I highly recommend you purchase your tickets online. Your ticket confirmation will give you details on what to do and where to board.  This is very important because there were tons of sight-seeing tours at this location, and they will scam you and tell you that your tickets will work with them, and actually no, you're at the wrong spot, so be sure to follow the directions of where to go.  The tickets will say you absolutely need to be there 45 minutes prior to take off. It's fine if you arrive later.  We arrived 10 minutes before boarding and ended up being the first people in line; and the boat was full. They want your money.  Parking can be hard to get, and you may have to walk far to get to the docking area, so please keep that in mind.  Boarding the ship was accommodating, and they also had bathrooms, and a mini-bar onboard with non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks and snacks.  They took cash and credit card payment too.  Before arriving to Star Island, we saw a lot of cruise ships, including Icon of the Seas! That ship is massive!  There are so many mansions and estates on Star Island. Our tour guide and captain had so much trivia and details to share about the homes, former and current owners. It definitely put into perspective the difference between rich and wealthy! If you're in the Miami area, I highly recommend taking this tour. read more

A friend and I were in Miami and decided to do an Island Queen Cruise. At the time they were doing the Millionaire's Row cruise, so we hopped on that one. It was a nice little cruise around Biscayne Bay, but I wasn't too interested in the millionaires' houses and docks that we passed. I knew that was the theme of this cruise going in, so I don't blame them for that aspect not being my favorite. I just enjoyed the ride and breeze more than looking at the fancy houses. There were a few sights to see aside from the mansions, though. We saw some giant high-rise buildings, some neat boats that we passed, and went under a few bridges. We did our cruise in November, so it was a little bit chilly out on the water, but not frigid, being that we were in Miami. The cruise was about an hour and a half, and I think that is a little long for the style of cruise. I'd recommend this if you are interested in seeing celebrity's houses or just like the feeling of a quick cruise on the bay. read more

I had an opportunity to get on a Sunset cruise. I didn't expect much since a day trip was a kind of ok experience. But this sunset cruise was a super nice experience. You get to enjoy beautiful houses and gorgeous Miami night views. You can see the colors of sky changing slowly. Even if you live in Miami, looking at Miami skyscrapers at night from the water is worth it. The cruise was packed with locals and tourists. It was fun! read more

I would be curious to know if there's a better alternative to this business. I fear there might not be. But my particular experience was not a very good one. While a cruise on the bay is a lovely thing, I did not think this was particularly well done. There was way too much focus on upselling. There were the traditional pitches for drinks and photos, of course. But there was also an extremely fishy drawing for people to win a free vacation. Further investigation revealed that this free vacation was essentially a timeshare pitch. Some of the drawing winners, if you can call them that, were folks who didn't even appear to speak English particularly well, so I fear they may have been preyed upon. And while I understand, not wanting to offend, the clientele, the crew of the ship made very little effort to control some extremely disruptive children on board. This had a clear negative impact on the experience for a lot of other guests. Also, there was no narration on the second half of the cruise. The second half of the cruise was devoted to trying to squeeze more money out of patrons. Finally, I did this very same cruise approximately five years ago. I figured with the passage of time, some things would've changed. But aside from a reference to Diddy, the content appeared to be very much the same. I have a sneaking suspicion that other companies are doing pretty much exactly the same thing, so there may not really be an alternative here. But I do not think this company provides a particularly good experience to its guests. read more

Overbooked cruise, we got in a storm in the end of our trip and all upper floor came downstairs. People didn't even care about social distance. Our table had empty 2 chairs and people took this seat without even asking us. Some strangers were sitting beside us and boat was full inside. Also dirty windows bother to take good photos! I mean I understand ticket price isnt high but anyways I think no matter how much you charge you should give people what they paid for. I had to go outside and to take good pics without having dirty marks on them from the window. Also I find it annoying tour guides begging for tips. Seriously? A relatively decent boat viewing around Miami, but definitely not amazing. From my understanding, tickets are around $25, but my party managed to purchase tickets for a discounted rate of $10. They label their cruises as a "yacht tour." I'm not a yacht connoisseur, but it wasn't anything super fancy; the double decker boat has rows of seats on the top floor, along with a bar and snacks. The trip lasts about 1.5 hours long, and a tour guide narrates for the majority of the time. It was nice to view several mansions on the surrounding islands of Miami, as well as the skyline of downtown. Unfortunately, the hot and humid weather made the ride almost unbearable; guests were sweating through their clothes and getting as close to the windows as possible. On the bright side, drinks and snacks were decently priced, and the staff was rather attentive. We were able to hang out at the front and back ends of the boat, giving us a nice breeze and view. I would recommend this cruise for any tourists, but other than that, you're not missing much. read more

5 stars for the friendly crew and tour guides, 0 stars for COVID safety. I would give less stars but I think it's Miami in general that doesn't care about COVID safety. If you care about getting COVID, don't go on this for now. No social distancing or mask wearing was enforced, or any of the rules for that matter. They said no smoking and next thing I know some guy was right behind me smoking a cig and no one cared. Also, this is located in a huge tourist area so if you like to avoid large tourist areas, this is not for you. On the upside the tour guide was funny and kind, and the tour itself wasn't too bad as we got to see lots of beautiful houses on islands. We did the cruise and it was just ok, I guess I was expecting to see more amazing homes but honestly all I could think about was how ridiculously priced these properties are and many over look a dirty ship yard, the water was absolutely disgusting with a layer of slimy oil and trash floating. Went during Thanksgiving week for something nice to do for family time. I had to decide which time to pick from the online special I purchased. It is located off Biscayne Blvd in the Bayfront location. We arrived and there was no line at the the booth, but only to find the line was formed next to the boat entrance. The staff was nice and quick with the customer service. After getting inline I noticed some other cruise riders had drinks they purchased else where. Drinks are allowed onto the boat. The wait was quick only because they had additional space and the timing was right. The sightseeing of millionaires row was relaxing. They offered snacks and alcoholic drinks and other beverages. I got a Pina Colada. The tour lasted 90 minutes. The atmosphere was nice,sunny and breezy. On the way back they had a drawing and I won a cruise for 2. I had a great time. This tour was fun and a nice way to see some of the fancy houses in Miami, however, I'd suggest arriving early so you can get a good seat on the top deck near the side of the boat so you can have a good view. We were towards the end of the line to get onboard, and there were no seats left, so we ended up standing for the majority of our trip. It was also a bit annoying that there was a long line for the bar, which was at the front of the boat on the top deck, so the people standing in the middle of the aisle were blocking the view for many people on board. read more

$25 booked via JW Marriott Marquis, in the tourist trap area, but it was easy to get in and out. 1.5 hours of touring the Millionaire Row, waterfront mansions, condos, $130,000,000.90 yacht by billionaire Mark Cuban, cruise ships view, every single celebs you could think of. It was a 90 hot and humid day in early September 2018, the cruise was breezy, we really enjoyed an afternoon out in the water. Our tour guide was a beautiful young blonde. She got a rashy voice, very nice and polite. We enjoyed the English part, not so much the Hispanic part. Because it was a straight up 70 minutes of talking. They also do some drawing/contest of some sort! We weren't interested. So if you want a day out in a cruise to explore the wealthy shorelines, check it out! My friends took me out on this cruise to get a sense of the area and see the sights with a quick history and it was great. The one touristy thing I did to see the sights and it was just enough to understand the history and see the bay. We all sat upstairs and it's all covered with open windows for a nice breeze and great for picture taking. The tour guides were very informative and even funny at times which helped bring the history to life (without being boring). The cruise was very smooth and the not bumpy at all. They have a small snack bar downstairs and we tasted their popcorn which was fresh. It was a nice day out and we were able to see several beautiful fancy million $$$ yachts and homes of the stars and also saw a few dolphins in the water, which was a big plus for me! The area that the boat docks from has several restaurants and shops as well, you can probably make for a great afternoon with dinner in the evening spending time there. read more

My friend and I took the Island Queen Cruise while we were on vacay in Miami. Thank God the skies cleared up while we were there before Hurricane Irma came a few days later. We did the 90-minute Millionaires Row boat tour of the celebrity houses. Tickets are $27 and if you buy them online and there's a promo for $3 off. We ended up buying the tickets at the stand at Bayside Marketplace, the guy working there was nice and honored the $3 off for us. The boat is double-decker. The top deck has nice views but the seats are the plastic patio kind. A lot of people get up to take photos. Downstairs they have a bar and they also sell snacks. Cocktails were $12 I think. It was nice getting to go on a boat tour. Makes me wish I were rich and had a mansion LOL my favorite was Dr. Phil's ballin' mansion! Danggg! I also liked seeing the mansion from the Bad Boys" movie. Honorable mansion mentions: P.Diddy, Shakira, Usher, Ricky Martin. They take a souvenir photo for you before you board the boat and they print it out for you at the end. It costs $30 for the photos which is a rip off since the actual boat tour is only $27 regular price. If they lower the price of photos to even $15 more people would buy. The cruise was great but I'll start at the beginning. I was planning this cruise to spend time with a friend from out of town. She is confined to an electric cart so access can be difficult. About a month in advance, I started calling various sightseeing companies to see who would be able to accommodate her. Tanya was very helpful and recommended I call on the day of our cruise to determine the best time (based on the tide) to roll on-board. Yay, we're so excited. Several days before, I tried to call to confirm our plans. Tanya was not available so someone else tried to assist. She didn't know the arrangements so she promised to get back to me. By the day before, I had not heard from her so day of, I started calling again. Ok, we have a time and all is good.... yes? We arrived at the dock and suddenly the cart is a concern and we'll need to transfer to their wheelchair. This is not easy plus they want her personal cart to be left behind with no guarantee it will be watched. After much discussion, they agreed to allow her to "roll" on as we had planned almost a month before. Once on-board, we only had the lower level available so she decided the outside front area would be the best. Great, she's seated in her cart but no chairs are allowed here so if I wanted to be with her (which of course, I did), I would have to stand. Also, this is the smoking area. As a non-smokers, I didn't care for this. Once we were past the "confusion" over the cart, everyone was very nice and the cruise was wonderful with great views right out of "Lifestyles". I would consider Island Queen for future visits with out of town friends and family. Also, check for a Groupon. Happy cruising! read more

My husband and I booked an Everglades and millionaire tour through Víator Tours. While communication and logistics were a nightmare, we actually found the women working at two different booths at Island Queen to be the worst and least helpful people we encountered. We had to stop on two different occasions (our cruise was through Island Queen), and both times they said they couldn't help us, when, as we learned later, they were who we needed!! The second woman, who we were trying to figure out how to get our tickets to board the cruise, told us my name wasn't in the system. It was pouring down rain and it took us 45+minutes on the phone with our tour company to learn all she needed to do was scan our ticket. Once we got our tickets, and prepared to board, she never apologized. The raffle is a joke and don't participate!!! There is nothing free and basically you have to sit through a time share presentation. read more

I enjoyed the amazing views and seeing the beautiful homes! It was so nice to be on the water in the beautiful city of Miami. However, the tour guide did not say who most of the celebrity homes belonged to. He only pointed out a few, but he missed so many. Also if you speak Spanish, that's a huge plus because his narration was mostly en español (understandable because you're in Miami). There were people on the lower level of the boat yelling and talking really loudly. They were being disruptive to the tour guide and the other customers. This woman sitting right behind me was literally coughing on my back with no mask. The chairs were really close together, so you're cramped up with strangers and I didn't like that. I need my personal space. Covid is still around. What happened to social distancing... I also wish they would've played some music on the boat or something to make it more fun! Two people came around with papers for everyone to fill out which happened to be a change to win a free gift. I filled it out and lo and behold I won! I was asked to go downstairs to receive my prize....which was NOT a prize lost about 20-25 min of my boat ride. I was asked to pick out a free vacation package in exchange for paying $40 refundable and going to a hotel to listen to a rep for 2 hrs try to sell me a "timeshare" package. After going to to the hotel and listening to this rep for now 2 but THREE and 1/2 hours and also declining the package and then dealing with their initial friendly but then absolutely poor attitudes, they gave me a gift card with $40 on it plus a print out certificate stating I won a 5night free vacation in Cancún. I received a call and they told me I had to pay 99$ US to activate this card + an additional 109$ US Free, right?! This is a complete SCAM!! I wasted my time being pressured into buying a ridiculous timeshare! Based upon how things were, the only opportunity that I had was the opportunity to get swindled! $28 tour - and from what I read sounds like you can get them on Groupon for cheaper. But I'm fine with the $28 - ultimately was looking for something that three out of town tourists could do to: enjoy the sun, get some fresh air, be on the water but not get wet, see the city, and hear some fun info. So - SCORE! This was perfect. My travel companions were here for a work conference, and so on the last day they got out early (2:30-ish) and so we only had a 1/2 day to play. So this boat tour was perfect!! not to mention it had boats leaving every hour, so we could basically just go any time we were ready. The boat is pretty nice. I mean, it's no luxury yacht but it's better than many I've seen! It's clean and comfortable and nicely sized. The downstairs is closed in, the top is open-air, however has a cover over the top so you don't fry. There's plenty of chairs, first come first served. They give a nice overview of the area, some local celebrity houses/size/prices, they talk a little about the port, etc.. It was a great 90 minutes spent - we found it relaxing and enjoyable. Afterwards we spent an hour walking around the little market area, too - which has some shops/restaurants/bars, etc... so it was perfect! If you're from out of town and looking to do something fun but tame and enjoy the beautiful Miami weather, this might just be perfect for you! please note the stairs to get to the upper deck (where everyone wants to be) are quite steep - so if anyone has disabilities or is confined to a wheelchair it might be kinda hard to get upstairs. They do sell drinks on board. Be advised they do a "raffle" which is most likely some type of timeshare scam where they'll start calling & emailing in a couple days - I just chose to opt out of filling out the form. It's not like you HAVE to do so. Also, they request to be tipped at the end (just like EVERYONE else in Miami) - so be prepared to give them a little something. Giving one star because of two reasons: 1) They are really unprofessional, not modest really rude and very very weird in behavior. 2) They give you times they dont even have...so that people get stuck with them...and then tell you that they moved the timings of the cruise...so a 6 pm booking and a 9pm booking would always get rebooked to a 7pm so that they have the most number of people Both the above happened once with me and once with a friend of mine. This "cruise" was awful. Watched the crew do shots prior to leaving dock. Then 3 staff? Sitting at a table yakked and yakked with each other so couldn't hear the commentary. When commentator cane downstairs to ask if could hear ok, told him I couldn't hear over the workers talking and laughing. He walked away. Why you ask I didn't go upstairs? Well, I have a broken ankle and was stuck. Commentary was English/Spanish and extremely difficult to follow when I could hear. THEN, at the last 30 minutes they gave away "prizes" in a raffle. I giant sales pitch to the "winners". So the boat slowed down to enable the three "talkers" to pitch very loudly at separate tables. So don't even try to hear anything that is being said by the commentator. Run away from this cruise. Don't waste your money or your time! read more

I'm sorry but our Star Island tour was mostly a load of crap and I'm still pretty bitter about it. I booked this 7pm boat cruise as a suprise to my husband so we could see the sunset while on vacation. The drinks and snacks were overpriced but that's to be expected. We got popcorn but it was burnt. Not worth an argument so I let that one slide. The tour wasn't narrated well. The girl struggled between English and Spanish and she just wasn't very eloquent. The boat was FILTHY. I saw 2 roaches and there was garbage everywhere. No one cleaned the boat in between tours which is unacceptable. One of the staff members was sitting in the air conditioned lower part of the boat drinking an alcoholic beverage and eating a snack and he left his garbage on the table and walked away. It was repulsive. But this isn't the worst part. The worst part was that the tour was cut almost 1/3rd of the time short. I was livid. I paid for a 1.5 hr narrated boat tour and it wasn't even an hour long. We docked very early. And it wasn't completely narrated. It wasn't even half narrated which I guess was a blessing since she didn't do well. The thing that made me insane was that the staff stood at the door of the boat and made us wait to get off so they could sell the lame pictures that they took before we got on the boat for $35. No thanks. Also they BEGGED for tips. They had a tip box and shook it while we got off the boat. How dare you think you deserve a tip when you ripped us off and cut our trip half an hour short! Go away. Don't use this company. They're overpriced, filthy, and rude. read more
