Took the island queen boat from bayside this past weekend with some family visiting from out of town. It was a great cruise with lots of information on Miami and the rich and famous houses. We had a price on Groupon and they matched the price getting the tickets for a great price. The guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor - you could tell the crew enjoyed their jobs. Will be adding this to my list of things to do when I have visitors!

Today's we're visiting Bayside Marketplace in Miami, Florida. Being from Chicago, this space reminds me of Navy Pier and Oakbrook Mall all wrapped up into one location. There's lots of shopping, places to eat, and tours to take on the water, including speedboats and there's a huge ferris wheel.  We're here specifically to check out the Millionaire's Row Cruise with Island Queen Cruises and Tours. I highly recommend you purchase your tickets online. Your ticket confirmation will give you details on what to do and where to board.  This is very important because there were tons of sight-seeing tours at this location, and they will scam you and tell you that your tickets will work with them, and actually no, you're at the wrong spot, so be sure to follow the directions of where to go.  The tickets will say you absolutely need to be there 45 minutes prior to take off. It's fine if you arrive later.  We arrived 10 minutes before boarding and ended up being the first people in line; and the boat was full. They want your money.  Parking can be hard to get, and you may have to walk far to get to the docking area, so please keep that in mind.  Boarding the ship was accommodating, and they also had bathrooms, and a mini-bar onboard with non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks and snacks.  They took cash and credit card payment too.  Before arriving to Star Island, we saw a lot of cruise ships, including Icon of the Seas! That ship is massive!  There are so many mansions and estates on Star Island. Our tour guide and captain had so much trivia and details to share about the homes, former and current owners. It definitely put into perspective the difference between rich and wealthy! If you're in the Miami area, I highly recommend taking this tour.

A friend and I were in Miami and decided to do an Island Queen Cruise. At the time they were doing the Millionaire's Row cruise, so we hopped on that one. It was a nice little cruise around Biscayne Bay, but I wasn't too interested in the millionaires' houses and docks that we passed. I knew that was the theme of this cruise going in, so I don't blame them for that aspect not being my favorite. I just enjoyed the ride and breeze more than looking at the fancy houses. There were a few sights to see aside from the mansions, though. We saw some giant high-rise buildings, some neat boats that we passed, and went under a few bridges. We did our cruise in November, so it was a little bit chilly out on the water, but not frigid, being that we were in Miami. The cruise was about an hour and a half, and I think that is a little long for the style of cruise. I'd recommend this if you are interested in seeing celebrity's houses or just like the feeling of a quick cruise on the bay.

I had an opportunity to get on a Sunset cruise. I didn't expect much since a day trip was a kind of ok experience. But this sunset cruise was a super nice experience. You get to enjoy beautiful houses and gorgeous Miami night views. You can see the colors of sky changing slowly. Even if you live in Miami, looking at Miami skyscrapers at night from the water is worth it. The cruise was packed with locals and tourists. It was fun!

UPDATE- furious they charged us twice and it's been over a month, still no refund. Went from 3 stars to 0 Easy to book, easy to find. It was a nice ride and the guide was comical. Get there early so you can get a good seat. Don't waste your time and sign up for the raffle because it's just time share bullshit. Our family enjoyed it and for some good pics of the skyline

Overbooked cruise, we got in a storm in the end of our trip and all upper floor came downstairs. People didn't even care about social distance. Our table had empty 2 chairs and people took this seat without even asking us. Some strangers were sitting beside us and boat was full inside. Also dirty windows bother to take good photos! I mean I understand ticket price isnt high but anyways I think no matter how much you charge you should give people what they paid for. I had to go outside and to take good pics without having dirty marks on them from the window. Also I find it annoying tour guides begging for tips. Seriously? I mean I didnt even heard half of what they were saying because it was too loud inside.

The combo of the hop on hop off bus and millionaire's row boat cruise is a great way to enjoy all of Miami from south beach and Wynwood Marketplace to bayside marketplace and Little Havana.

We showed up at 9:10 AM, exactly as instructed, only to be told our booking had been moved to 11:30 AM without any notice whatsoever. No email. No call. Nothing. Just "oh yeah, it was changed." From there, it was 30 minutes of standing around, being sent back and forth between employees who clearly had no idea what was going on. Eventually, we were told we'd receive a refund and a free boat tour as compensation for the inconvenience. Sounds reasonable, right? Except when they went to process it, they tried to charge the boat tour tickets against the refund credit -- essentially undoing the compensation they just promised. If we hadn't been paying attention, we would have been charged anyway. Luckily, we caught it, demanded clarity, and only then did they issue a full refund and actually give us the boat tour tickets for free like they said they would in the first place. The boat tour itself (celebrity homes) was fine -- nothing special -- but that's not the point. We're locals who intentionally tried to spend the day as tourists, and this experience made it painfully clear how miserable this must be for out-of-towners who don't know better. Disorganized, misleading, and careless with customers' time and money. Miami deserves better than operations like this -- and tourists definitely do.

If you want to get around Miami and save money on ride shares and taxis this is the way to go…read more With that being said only book this if you have most of the day to devote to the experience. Traffic in Miami can be busy and something a few miles away could take 20 minutes to travel to so choose your stops wisely. We started the trip at the bayside shopping area. The salesman explained each stop so we had a plan before getting on the bus. The buses were packed and we had to sit downstairs with no air conditioning to go to the first stop. Luckily it only took about 10 minutes. We got off by the beach and enjoyed walking along the boardwalk then spending a half hour on the beach before finishing our walk to the second stop. They say the buses come every 30 minutes and we always seemed to wait 15 or 20 minutes before the bus came. Stops were easy to find with little red signs. We then took the bus to little Havana and enjoyed lunch there. It was fun to drive by the other locations but with the timing we did not have enough time to get off and explore to be in the right area around lunch. They give you headsets that let you listen to facts and information about Miami. Overall the experience is what you make it.

The airboat tour was decent but we were told to listen out for announcements for the animal show & bus departure, which neither of us heard. At least one other group didn't hear the animal show announcement too. There was supposed to be a complimentary professional airboat photo, but ours got lost. No estimated time of departure was given & we didn't see some people on the bus on the way back. The driver didn't seem to do a headcount before leaving. Granted, he did warn us that we would be left behind if we weren't there when the bus left, but a headcount & a short wait for stragglers are pretty standard tour practices. The lights on the bus didn't work & the bus seemed a bit old too.

I'm so glad we booked online because it seems like if you book in person they upsell you like crazy. I saw people with "VIP" stickers - VIP means nothing. At best dishonest and at worst, predatory. Once you book they tell you that you'll need to pay in person a half hour before your trip, which for us was 8:30. Once we paid, we were on the bus and moving AT 9 am, so make sure you are punctual. When we arrived to pay 8:30 am, the people at the counter were annoyed that we were there (we must have interrupted their social hour) and told us at their systems were down so we HAD to pay by cash. Ok, sure. It ended up being $65 instead of $58. Keep in mind that every driver and tour guide you have with this company will be aggressively nudging you for tips. The bus seats are very dirty and the stairs are narrow as heck. I saw this tour was advertised as completely accessible. This is not true. If you are a wheelchair user, do not book this tour. The ride wasn't very educational (you can learn more by Wikipedia), but it would have cost us more in car rental or Ubers to explore the city ourselves, so it gains one star for that. The tour guide was also pausing his "tour" to yell at every single person who looked to be a tourist that we were on a tour and they should join us. We were told this tour would be 2.5 hours with an hour lunch break. We were at the office at 8:30 to check in like they requested, and didn't get back to our starting point until 1:30 pm. The only way we could've gotten back earlier would've been to ditch the bus and get an uber or Lyft. At about 11 am, the driver and tour guide dropped us at a glorified bus station (fake turf, 2 toilets, 2 food trucks, a bar, and cornhole) for over an hour, after promising we'd be gone in a half hour and vaguely threatening us to be on time. We did not leave that bus station until 12:30. I called the main office twice to check where our bus was and if they were even still coming to pick us up. An hour and a half wait is insane especially when you expect a half hour. We also did not purchase a boat tour (thank god) so we had to wait on the bus as they tried to get more customers and stopped at every bus stop between the Marina and their office on Lincoln. We didn't get off the bus from 12:30-1:30, and were vaguely laughed at when we asked the ETA. IDK, we had some good points of this tour, but we were not expecting for a FIVE HOUR expedition where they tried to upsell us at every turn, and then treated us like nothing when we didn't pay more or didn't have extra cash to tip since we didn't know we had to pay in cash for the tickets. We lucked out by booking the 9 am otherwise our entire day would've been wasted by being held hostage by this tour company. We were lucky to have the rest of the day after we were finally dropped off at 1:30.
