This is one of my favorite spots in Miami. There's free parking, food vendors, and the beach is calm and shallow. I love watching dogs play in the water, and it's family friendly place as well. I love coming to key Biscayne dog beach even if I don't have a pup. The water is so calm and I live for the gorgeous sunsets that we catch on this side of the beach. Honestly it's a true paradise. Sometimes I feel it's like a secret beach. The water is very shallow and there is lots of trees and natural shade. The sand outside is white but inside the water it is not the best as it is muddy but I don't mind it. It's natural, it's a key! I love that they have made it so much nicer with pavement and clean bathrooms. The beach is kept nice and I'm glad beach goers do their part in maintaining it clean. They do Close at sundown like 7:30 Pm and the police will patrol you out. It's very safe and enjoyable. Let's keep it this way! It's nice alternative to Miami Beach. read more

Only dog beach in Miami, decided to go for the first time with my doggie Leah. It was nice for the views facing the famous Rickenbacker Causeway. The parking was extremely small and we sadly couldn't find parking for over 30 minutes. Once we found a spot walking on the beach there are a lot of red ants, so please be cautious if your furry friend gets bit or yourself. The beach isn't cleaned properly due to tons of seaweed and doggie poop everywhere. Nice to visit but I would not recommend this doggie beach in Miami. There is another in Hollywood that is quite better, cleaner, and bigger! read more

The beach is kept clean. Trash bins everywhere to help avoid trash on the group. You could rent kayaks, and paddle boards from a near by vender. There is also a man selling hotdogs, sodas and corn underneath a tent. During the week it is not too crowded, plenty of shade to lay underneath of. My Roxy had a fantastic time! read more

Great little beach to take your doggy and enjoy a day by the water. The water is a bit muddy and nasty so I wouldn't personally get in but definitely great for your dog! We kept her on the leash because this was her first time and she would bark at other dogs sometimes lol. Great view of key biscayne buildings in the back. I like this beach because I find it to be clean and not as packed as other nearby areas. The fact that your pup can enjoy the time with you is totally worthwhile. It's always best to arrive early as parking can be tricky during busy hours. It's highly recommended to keep your pet on a leash to ensure an accident-free day. Dogs of all sizes and breeds visit here so it's best to respect the space abs by following the rules. Once you pass the toll portion of the causeway, it's a short distance to your destination. Be mindful of other guests and dispose of your trash accordingly in the bins provided. It's a great way to spend an afternoon with your furry buddy just soaking up the rays and enjoying the area. read more

So surprised by how clean and nice this dog beach was! Came on a Saturday around one so it was busy , luckily found parking. The only downside is the sand area is small about 20 feet from street/ parking. So if your dog it's perfectly trained like mine I wouldn't recommend letting off leash. Even though I do not have a pet, I think this is a great place for your furry friends. The water seems nice for them, they can run, get in the water, be kind of free and enjoy a little more than usual. In here the pets and their owners can spend a good time together. The only thing I suggest you is to please bring your doggie bags ( the one for their number "2") since I'm not sure if the park provides you with them. There's plenty of garbage cans so please use them instead of the beach and enjoy your day out!! This spot is super easy for parking but yes of course it can have way too many dogs at times. Also don't go on peak weekend but a Monday or Thursday night is good. We have seen sharks there so watch out especially if paddle boarding with tiny dogs. The sand is soft though the seaweed the last few years has skyrocketed as with everywhere else in Miami. read more

Not a great beach as far a sandy and the most clean to go but for a quick place to relax I recommend it. You have a hard time putting in a umbrella because of the rock and this is a bit of a downfall. But the view is nice and a relaxing place none the less. read more

This spot is pretty sweet. It's dog friendly and close to Miami Beach and brickell. It's just about the only dog friendly beach in the Miami area. Been here a couple times and it's definitely the spot for dogs. First time it was heavily populated and difficult to park but it was free to park. There might be a short wait but overall worth while since it's practically the ONLY dog beach in Miami. Understand tho there are sometimes off leash pit bulls here. This is the perfect beach to bring your dog. As we were spared by Hurricane Matthew, I decided to bring my puppy here to take in the beautiful weather. She absolutely loved it. On any given day you'll find many people kite surfing and wind sailing. There are many small businesses along the beach where you can rent catamarans, sailboats and kayaks. I've rented sailboats and kayaks and taken my dog out with me many times. She absolutely loves it! There are lots of palm trees for shade, many of which are pretty close to each other if you want to set up a hammock and just relax. I love to come here in the evening time to take in the beautiful sunset. You'll find many families and groups of friends with their dogs running freely. The water is also nice and calm. This is a big plus if your dog is anything like mine and terrified of the waves! There are sometimes food trucks, ice cream trucks and lemonade/frozen drink vendors. If you go across the street to the area behind the Rusty Pelican, there are places where you can rent jet skis as well. Best of all is the free parking. Where can you find that anywhere else in Miami?! Overall, This beach is perfect for both rest/relaxation and fun-filled water sports. It's definitely one of my favorites. read more

Woke up early to have a run with some friends that have been coming to this park on a regular and decided to join them. When I arrived it was around 9:30 am and parking was still available with no charge. I love to see that their were many people with their pets enjoying the water and getting some exercise. The area looks way better then what it use to look like way back when I use to go as a child. Im already planning my next visit to the beach with my dog and bathing suit so we can have a dip. There is a public bathroom right in the middle with two bathroom stalls. They also have in the middle of the beach a rental for paddle boarding and kayaks. Looking forward to next time I come by and also check out some other restaurants. They sometimes have small carts selling food and beverages. read more

Dog beach you say....? Oops, I seem to be missing one very important furry factor when coming to this beach. Must have missed the memo, my bad! Despite the fact that I'm without a four legged creature- though for months now I've been wanting to get a furry friend- I have on occasion visited this stretch of land. For the most part, it leaves little to be desired and if I did have a dog, I certainly wouldn't bring him here. Really not sure if BEACH would be the accurate word to describe this place. I mean sure, you got your sand, there's some water, people are walking around half naked...add it all up and it has a seeming resemblance to a beach! Speaking of water, there's nothing like walking 10 miles out into it and still have it barely come up to your knees. Although, if you're brave enough to even set foot in that water, then more power to you. All the muck, the seaweed, muddy bottom.... Hey, don't get me wrong, I don't mind getting dirty from time to time, usually, that's when you're having the most fun but that's not the case here. I certainly don't come here for the ocean front property provided, not that there's actually a lot of land to claim for yourself anyway. There are some parts of the strip that's barely safe enough for you to walk through so taking a scenic walk down the beach might not be a good idea. In some sections I've seen, there's just too many rocks. Consider yourself warned and if you stumble upon some rocks and twist your ankle and die, then you did so at your own risk! Given the lack of luster associated with this place, there is one thing that keeps me coming back several times throughout the year despite its short comings. Personally, I would probably never set foot in that water but that sunset is worth the trip every time! Not to mention, it is the perfect opportunity to just snuggle up with that special someone as the sun descends behind that Miami skyline with a nice ocean view and crisp ocean breeze to make you shiver just enough to make you inch a little closer. Siiigghhh..... The sunsets are really the only thing going for this place. It's the only reason I come here, perfect way to end the day if you ask me! Fellas...**cough, cough, hint, hint**.... Best beach in S.Fl... if you're looking to catch dog chlamydia! If it weren't for the fact that i'm 1/6th Russian then i'd be a little scared right now. Make sure your vaccinations are up to date or you'll leaving this place with more than just good memories. Like most Miamians, i have memories of being brought here by my father when i was a wee lad. Last time i visited this place must've been 20+ years ago. How i cherish those memories of making sand forts and using the syringes i found in the sand as cannons. I remember the layers upon layers of seaweed lining the beach and the murky water that seemed to have a film floating on it. Nothing has changed. Aside from vaccinations you should also come with steel-toe boots or at the very least some "water shoes". There is no shortage of sharp rocks at this place. Certain segments of the strip have been "cleared" but you should still keep your eyes on the ground at all times. I looked up for 2 seconds and just about received a complimentary beachside toe amputation. If your dog isn't IN the water then he/she must be leashed. There is a police officer that drives up and down the parking lot to remind you of this. I suppose that is a good thing because there is no fence or anything at all that would deter a dog from bolting into the parking lot - and just outside of that is 45 mph traffic. The GOOD thing about this beach is that the water is fairly shallow. If your dog has never been in deep water then this is the place to ease him in to it. If your dog is part fish then i recommend haulovers dog beach, the dog "lake" at the broward bass pro, or the broward dog beach. They are all a drive for anyone south of flagler but definitely far better than this place. read more

Yesterday I wanted to take the pups on a fun little adventure to get them out of the condo. I went to this dog beach which is located after the bridge, on the right hand side. It was a very pleasant experience. Water was a beautiful turquoise color and sand was a soft white. I am not rating this dog beach five stars because the beach wasn't clean. Glass and garbage in the parking lot and garbage in the water. It wasn't a ton so i didn't rate them lower. I feel if there were more garbage cans around it would have been cleaner. Overall was a nice experience and the dogs had a blast. read more

Cute spot for a morning or afternoon with the pooch. I wish the water wasnt always so murky but I appreciate that there is a pet friendly beach in town! Owners seem to be respectful and there is a good balance of on/off leash dogs. Parking is ample and there is usually a vendor or two near by offering hot dogs or arepas. read more

I have been to this beach many times before, and it's nice that dogs ARE allowed. However, I would definitely not consider this a dog beach. The dogs are not allowed to be off leash, it is difficult to find a clear spot without washed up sea weed, and the water is filled with sharp pointy rocks. Maybe there are better spots I haven't found on this beach, but overall it's just nice to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset...from your car. read more

This is a sweet little beach with a view of the bridge passing into Key Biscayne as well as the beautiful Miami buildings. Ended up here after leaving Crandon park due to man o war killing our beach vibe. Its a dog beach but its so peaceful and quaint, great for kids too! The waters shallow but its nice nonetheless. They also rent paddle boats, boards, and kayaks. Boats were $15 for 30 min, pricey for people who live here but its a nice touch for people visiting. Free parking and tons of it. read more

I love coming to this beach when it's empty otherwise you have to pay for parking and park super far. I'm confused on whether or not it's an off leash beach. The first time we came the dogs outnumbered the people and most were off leash, the second time it was as if people weren't aware it was a dog beach.
