Great experience. He showed up on time, worked hard, and did a great job removing all of my yard debris. I had a large pile of branches, vines, and wood, and he handled everything efficiently and cleaned up well afterward. His price was very fair, communication was easy, and he was professional and friendly. I'd definitely hire him again and highly recommend him. read more

I rarely rate businesses on Yelp, but Nate and his crew are incredibly hard working. He quickly gave a reasonable price estimate. He kept me updated on when he would arrive. His team completed the work with great quality (including removing a very old and large bush that really presented a challenge). I highly recommend Haul U Need. read more

I reached out to Nate looking for clearing up a backyard and removing a stump. He came to check out it within an hour. We reached an agreement and he started working on it the same day. Got everything taken care of by the next day. Thanks for the hard work! read more

I am beyond frustrated with this company - Haul U Need Yard Services. I hired them for yard maintenance and cleanups a few months ago, but their reliability has been non-existent. I had an agreement with Nathan for yard clean up twice a month. As of February 8, he is supposed to do 3 and has only shown up once this year. He has stood me up multiple times, promising to show up on a specific day and then simply failing to appear without a call or text. I've spent more time chasing him down for updates than he has spent actually working on my yard. After multiple broken promises and "no-shows," I had no choice but to fire him. If you value your time and want a contractor who actually honors their commitments, look elsewhere. read more

Incredible quality and value for the money. Nathan has always been respectful, honest, and diligent. He just does great work. He's done all kinds of garden work for me -- new pathways, plantings, maintenance, etc. He can only do good work, and never leaves out any detail. Very easy going and has great suggestions, while also listening and makes sure to get done the things I've asked for. read more

Nathan handled 2 very beastly jobs on my property in addition to hauling away debris. He removed a stump that was big, old, and ornery! He also removed a swingset where each footing was set in about 100lbs of concrete from the 1960's. He is very communicative and granted you need to allow him some flexibility with scheduling the work, his pricing was super fair and he knew how to tackle the jobs. I was impressed and would hire Nathan again! read more

Great value and quality of work. It's a pleasure working with Nathan. I would definitely call again for the future cleanup.

Nate was very responsive and accommodated my yard work needs on short notice. He is very thorough and the yard looks nice.

Highly recommend Nate's Haul U Need services! Nate responded super fast even on a Sunday and was very communicative. He came out the very same day and removed a huge amount of debris from an area of the yard that was hard to access. They worked so hard, had it all out of here very quickly and gave us an extremely reasonable price. They also cleaned up everything so well after! Would definitely call Nate again in the future when needed. Thank you so much! read more

Nate was super nice, communicative, and professional. He picked up yard waste from our house. Would reach out to him again!

I reached out to Nate because we really needed someone to haul our yard waste after pulling out overgrown plants in our backyard. I think I called at least 5 places and Nate was the only who was able to pick it up right away at a decent price and this was also during a long weekend. Nate came right on time when he said he would be here and I really just expected him to load up his truck with all the waste but he also cleaned up our backyard which was very much appreciated! read more

Nate did a fantastic job landscaping our front and back yard. He was incredibly detail oriented and efficient with his time. Nathan was hard to set a date with, but once he came, he quickly understood which vines to cut on our back fence and which to leave. He was also able to dig out by their roots a number of ivy and blackberry clumps on our side of the fence--and to reassure the back-fence neighbor about our good intentions. I will use him again. read more

Nate is fantastic. Prompt, accurate quote for some landscaping work. Great communication via text/phone, especially re arrival times, etc. As he went, he noticed possible improvements or other things that could be done that was dramatically improve the overall project. He checked in, provided quotes and when we gave the green light, was able to do things we wouldn't have even thought of. Highly recommend. read more

These guys did a wonderful job on our back yard! Due to the pandemic, we hadn't had anyone out to maintain it for about a year and a half, so it was pretty overgrown. We needed a few dead trees removed and replaced, everything else needed to be trimmed back, and a sprinkler line needed to be repaired and relaid. Right from the start, Nathan was responsive, prompt, and reliable with regards to setting up calls and meetings, and getting us an estimate. From there he provided multiple different solutions to problem areas, got the work done when he said he would and stayed within the agreed budget. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would highly recommend these guys! read more

Nathan did a great job! He is hard working, dependable and fair priced. He figured out the best way to handle our project and communicated clearly through the whole process. I'm so glad I found Nate to do some yard work/landscaping for me! He is knowledgable, reliable, affordable, trustworthy, good communicator, hard working, patient, detail oriented, thoughtful and very nice. He works with you as a real team, making great suggestions but not pushy. He put in a path, planted dozens of plants, put in a new drip system, cleared dry growth for fire inspection, took out multiple huge pampas grass plants by the roots, built new tree stump steps, trimmed a tree - doing it perfectly with a trimmer and by hand, removed ivy from a buckeye tree on a steep hillside - climbing the tree to reach all the branches. Cleaning up well after each job. He's a perfectionist and goes above and beyond what I expected. Nate met with me at nurseries to pick out deer and drought resistant plants, very patiently and thoughtfully, participating in making decisions. Very open. When it came to picking out river rocks and limestones for the path, he texted me photos of various sizes and colors, multiple times when he was at the various stores, so he'd get the ones I wanted. I've worked with other gardeners, but none have been as good as Nate for all of the above reasons, and have highly recommended him to my friends. read more

Nathan deserves 10 stars: he really cared about doing the best job possible for me: he spent time talking with me as we went through my outdoor space to understand exactly what I wanted removed and/or trimmed. He gave me a fair quote and returned with his worker and they hauled butt for the better part of 2 days. He showed a real respect for the work and for the land. He was communicative about arrival time if he had to change it. He was communicative when he had a question. I love every landscaping decision he made, appreciate his sensibility, and at the end of the job, he even went out of his way to do a few extras for me. He left my place clean and beautiful. Out of all the workers I have had at my new house these past two months, he is hands down my favorite! Very grateful and recommend wholeheartedly! read more

I had a great experience with this company. I needed to put my front yard back together after it was torn apart and dug up for a sewer line repair. Haul U Need Yard Services - The finished product! - Landscaping Near Me

Nathan did a fantastic job clearing out my extremely overgrown and neglected back yard. He was prompt and responsive, getting all the work done within a week of contacting him and at a great price. He has a great attention to detail, going far beyond what I was expecting. I was shocked at the amount of work he was able to get done in a short amount of time. He trimmed all the plants I wanted to keep, removed all the ones that were dead or too overgrown to save, and then hauled away all of the green waste. Most of all, he pulled out by hand all the weeds and grasses that had taken over most of the yard. At the end, he swept the entire patio and raked the yard clear of all the small clippings and trimmings. I am very happy with his work and would happily hire him again for any yard work in the future. I have attached a few photos of the yard before and after to give you an idea of just how much work he got done in a few days. read more

After reading the great reviews here, I called Nate to help me reclaim my backyard after years of neglect. He was able to come out the next morning and survey the project. He proposed what I thought was a fair price. He came out two mornings later and dove right in. When I got home from work I couldn't believe how much he'd gotten done. He came back the next day and finished it all up. The transformation in my backyard is insane -- morning glory and blackberry brambles had overtaken everything, and now they're gone. I have my patio back. I have my garden back. And only four days after deciding to finally find someone to get it done. Working with Nate was terrific -- he was careful to make sure he completely understood what I wanted, and he checked in throughout the day to give me updates and ask more questions as necessary. A totally can-do guy. I would definitely recommend him. read more

Nate did a fantastic job helping us get our house ready to sell--he cleared our very overgrown yard, weeded, pruned, and hauled away trash and debris in record time. Nate tackled a very not fun job of getting our blackberry brambles under control. He worked hard and I look forward to having him come out regularly to help keep up on the work he completed so things don't get out of hand again. He was detail oriented, conscientious, and fair. I really appreciated that. read more

Nate came out and gave us a reasonable estimate to clear out the front and back yards at my house, and then lay new sod. He was fair about the work that needed to be done, and have us ideas for other options than sod, if we wanted. He spent a whole day preparing the yards. He worked incredibly hard to get everything ready, and worked equally hard to get the sod installed and looking wonderful. It hasn't even been a week and we are already getting lots of compliments from the neighbors! I would highly recommend Nate. read more

We had two trees and a bunch of overgrown vines that needed removal. Nathan did a beautiful job. He managed to get all the roots out. He didn't damage our irrigation or the other plantings. Here's the story: based on the positive Yelp reviews, I gave Nate a call to come by last Friday for an estimate on a yard clean-up job. Four p.m. worked better for me, but he preferred 2 p.m., as it would allow him to miss the afternoon commute back to Berkeley (at least a little). So, no big deal, we went with 2 p.m. I work in consulting, and Friday is a big day for deadlines and last-minute meetings. So, like for most people, taking the afternoon off for personal reasons comes at a price. But, to accommodate the appointment, I took that time off as personal time, looking forward to getting the ball rolling on the clean-up. Long story short: 2 p.m. comes and goes. No Nate. No call. Three p.m. rolls by, then 3:30. I text him asking "what's up? We have an appointment today." If something happened, no sweat. It happens to us all, and that's life. But, after several texts went unanswered and no call was forthcoming, I realized that the lack of response was not due to an emergency, but a lack of concern that a potential customer was left hanging. There was simply no courtesy of a response, text, phone call, or otherwise. I let him know that that's a pretty poor business practice when it comes to a potential customer on a sizable job. Moreover, it's common decency not to blow someone off, especially when they make special accommodations to stick to the agreement. So, that's why I can't give Haul U Need one star, simply because I didn't even get a chance to experience their services. Based on the lack of follow-through, I can't say that I'm optimistic. It wouldn't be fair, however, for me to rate a service that I haven't received. But, it's worthwhile to my fellow consumers and community members out there to consider this story in evaluating whether you wish to engage the services of Haul U Need. It's too bad, as the ratings were pretty good, as were the testimonials. But, a poor and indifferent showing, right off the bat. Good luck to you if you retain them, and I hope you have a better experience than I. read more

Nate has cleaned up my yard a few times and left it in great condition. Unfortunately, he is unresponsive and does not follow through with plans. Nate came over to haul away about 4 tons of dirt that I did not want in my backyard. He was fast, very reasonably priced, and did great work. He also gave me an estimate on some tree trimming - i'm having him come back at the end of the month to do the job. Nate is great! read more

I needed last-minute hauling of old furniture, junk and random debris. I called Nate and he was able to work in time to come the same day. The amount of stuff I had was huge and I assumed would require two or three loads. Nate arrived and gave me an honest estimate and told me he would be able to fit it all in one load. For the next couple of hours he broke down everything and managed to take it all away in one load and leave the yard clean. He works hard and efficient, and that is exactly what I wanted. Five stars for: coming on a Sunday coming on the "same day" I called decent price hard work / efficient clever - the way he fit everything to haul in one trip - "tetris style" read more

After reading all the great reviews, I was really looking forward to using Nate for a small backyard project. He was going to come today at 11:00, and I received a phone call at 11:15. He explained that an earlier project was taking longer than expected. He was apologetic and wanted to make sure my day wasn't impacted. I said I could be patient and flexible and he said he would call me in a couple of hours. I called him at 3:15 and he said he would come in an hour. I called him at 5:00 explaining it was too late in the day. I would have agreed to re-schedule for another day/time, but his communication skills were too lacking. Perhaps my standards for customer service are too high ... read more
