Kevin and his crew have been one of my go-to subcontractors for at least ten years now. These folks are true professionals, whether it be hauling, demolition, or offloading heavy loads of delivered building materials. They are always on-time, superful careful, competant, dependable workers but they are also just great people who go out of their way to help and do things right. Today i had a truckload of 1500 pounds of custom made doors show up at a job site. Kevin fit me into their schedule, sent over his crew and they broke open the giant palettes and unpacked the doors and carried them into the job site. There wasnt a scratch on any door and no damage at all to the job site. They always leave my job sites clean. I've hired someone to help me clear the clutter out of my place and reorganize. Of course, at a certain point, I needed the clutter removed, so I shopped around asking local hauling services for their rate. I also provided pictures. Kevin was great. He responded right away, which I didn't necessarily expect as it was the weekend. I got a fair quote for both credit and cash with a small discount for cash as you're avoiding the credit card processing fees. I didn't receive a fair quote from a couple of other services I reached out to. That stuck with me because I want to pay for the service, but I also don't want to get ripped off. Well, when it comes to hauling junk.... Kevin is "THE MAN!" You can quote me on that too. No matter how big or small the job may be... Kevin and his 18 foot dumpster truck will handle it. AND, he will do it for the lowest price around. The money I saved by calling Kevin during the remodel of my house is unfathomable. It took him 2 trips (in his 18 foot dumpster truck) and 2 trips for his buddy (the metal collector) to haul away the enormous amount of junk from the house. I paid waste management double (what I paid Kevin) to rent a single 14 foot dumpster (that smelled like crap and stunk up the entire neighborhood) for a week. Not only are his rates reasonable, but he was super-fast in returning my call and was able to fit in my very small job within 24 hours. I also appreciated that he gave a very clear one hour window of when to expect them and called when they were on their way. Not a single reason to complain. They made an appointment a mere four days ahead of time .... and provided a one-hour window, from 2-3 p.m. (Super! no need to wait around all day). Then, the morning of the pickup, they confirmed by phone, as well as email. Then, about a half hour before arriving, they called with an update: Would it be OK if they arrived at the front end of the window - ie. 2 p.m. OF COURSE. (I must admit, in the back of mind, I was a tiny bit nervous about a hauler blowing off the job, and leaving us in a bind, with a mountainous heap of trash on our driveway) Upon making the reservation, we were given an estimate of $150 if our trash would fit in the approximate size of one pickup truck. Our pile of junk on our driveway turned out to be huge, so I was somewhat trepidatious that the cost was going to zoom. The team leader looked over our pile, assessed it for a minute or two, and then offered the price of $250. To me, that was exceedingly fair, and I gave my approval to proceed. The job was professionally and quickly completed by the three-man crew. One small clay statue broke on the sidewalk, and there was a lot of debris of our own on the driveway (which I figured I would be cleaning up). But the crew swept up everything and left the driveway/sidewalk cleaner than it was before I started piling up junk on it. I think it took them only 15-20 minutes to complete the entire job. We paid by check and that was that (they also take credit cards). Kudos to this company and the work crew who attended to us. I will be a repeat customer as necessary, and next time won't have to waste time calling Got Junk and asking about their prices (higher). read more
