I've lost more hats than I can count so why do I keep buying them? That's not me, that's something my wife constantly says which is why I buy them whilst on business travel. No one there to stop me. This time I was on the hunt for a replacement Panama style hat (lost the last one in Costa Rica) and the short of it was that I found it at hatWRKS and was in and out in about ten minutes. In town for about three days and heard great reviews about this company and wanted to take home a Hatworks hat. Arrived at this location with roughly 10 minutes before closing. Wasn't planning to "shop" ( realized it was close to closing) but wanted an opportunity to get in and see some items to determine if it was worth coming back the next day to truly shop. When I arrived, the door was locked. I called into the store and the employee did open the door. His demeanor was unprofessional and quickly made me choose to head down to Rustlers to spend my money. I get that when it's time to get off and close, employees want to do that( I've worked in retail before) but locking a door 10 minutes early, at the holidays, no doubt is unacceptable. read more

My husband took me to Hatworks Nashville so I could have a custom hat made. Gage was great to start, explaining the process and telling us it would be about 4 weeks for the hat. We spent $$$$ on this hat so we knew it would take some time. Gage also said he would send us pictures of the process and keep us updated along the way After 10 weeks my husband and I were getting upset that we haven't heard anything. Called the store and spoke to the manager and she said Gage will get in contact with us, another week goes by and we hear nothing. Finally, they communicate to us that the hat is ready. I do not receive my first message from Gage about my hat until he is dropping it off at the store. He texts, that morning, that he will be at the store this afternoon to drop it off. Then texts again when he's at the store that the hat has been dropped off. At no point he mentioned about an appointment or us to be picking up the hat that day. I kindly text back and let him know we will be picking it up the next day. When we get to the store, they mention how we had an appointment with Gage yesterday, and I said we were not made aware of that. I love the hat, and it seems good quality (but I guess we'll see), but I'm disappointed in the total lack of communication especially since we spent a lot of money for a custom hat. My guess is unless you are a celebrity they really dont care about your business. read more

Welcomed by staff when we walked in. Very knowledgeable young man (I forgot to get his name) explained the different types of hats to me, sizes and that the stacks of hats have the smaller sizes at the bottom. I wanted a felt hat, tried on straw & felt, and ended up with a cute wool hat. The cashier explained each customer's hat to them, how it was made, how to care for it, how to store it, etc. She was very thorough but slow and the line to cash out grew (hence the four stars instead of five). I thought the selection was great - I'm a first time western hat buyer - and they also had embellishments for hats (bands, feathers, etc), belts, other types of hats (caps, sombreros, fascinators). And, there are kids sizes too. I now understand how people can own so many hats! It was fun and if I need another hat, I would definitely come back. EDIT: I did not read the other Yelp reviews before shopping here. Due to the owner's anti-Semitic statements on social media, I will not return to this establishment. read more

Great selection and variety! If you want a hat that not a cowboy hat they are a great place to visits. They have plenty of cowboy hats but the selection of other types was great. Excellent hat selection, size selection, and even had Stetson hats not available on the website. The staff was kind and seemed knowledgeable. The prices were on par with other places but the value was in being able to try things on. They had a nice discount section so if you can find something you liked in your size it was probably an even better place. We would return. read more

The gentleman that works there brought me to that section and said "please look around and try on anything you want but we ask that you don't pick up any hats by the crown "and that's it. Not only was the quality and selection poor, but we didn't feel safe while we were in this establishment. We're in the middle of a worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and not only was the employee behind the counter not wearing a mask... he was encouraging other patrons to remove theirs to talk to him at the register. HE ALSO MADE IT A POINT TO WALK AROUND THE STORE TO GREET PEOPLE WITHOUT WEARING A MASK SO HE COULD TELL THEM TO NOT PICK UP THE HATS... (YOU KNOW... BECAUSE RULES ARE IMPORTANT) What a hypocrite !!! My boyfriend really wanted to purchase an authentic hat while we were in Nashville. I was born and raised in Montana and Wyoming and did a little research and found this place. The star ratings were not as high as other locations but they appeared to have a better selection of brands and offered custom fitting. We all went with him, five people, and while he was working with a friendly associate a few of us found hats we also liked. At the counter I asked if they had a box that would fit the hat I had selected as we would be flying and I don't want it to get damaged. The younger male at the counter snarked "no, we do not have hat boxes for every hat" then an older woman sitting a back desk looked up from her phone and chimed in "we don't have any extras 'neither". I said okay and that I would not be purchasing the hat then because of the difficulty of traveling with it by plane without a box. I sat down in the couch in the waiting style area of the showroom while the others continued to shop. My boyfriend walked by and asked if I was going to get the hat. I said they didn't have a box for it and I wasn't keen on traveling on the plane without one so I wasn't going to just wait and get one when I went back home (to Wyoming). The younger male at the counter interjected himself into our conversation and loudly called out to my boyfriend that only the hats that are sitting on boxes have boxes and that they can't possibly offer a hat box to every hat in the store. I looked up startled at my boyfriend and said that I was unsure why that associate was wanting to fight about this as I had just opted to get one later. The younger male continued to make commentary and two of the other people we were traveling with put the hats they were going to purchase back and the older woman got up and walked into a back room. When my boyfriend went to check out with the hat he selected, with the help of what appeared to be the only friendly employee in the store, the younger male associate looked over at me and said "we could package both hats in this box since he is buying one with a box". I replied "No thank you - I was rather put off by how you treated me earlier and will purchase one back in Wyoming". His face turned even more unfriendly and he checked my boyfriend out without another word. It was a rather unpleasant experience that cost them over $600 in additional hat sales. I had a flier that showed the closing hours different than they actually were. The flier was outdated. When I arrived the store was closed, but the staff was still inside. They saw me at the door and came to ask if they could help. I explained that I lived out of state and had traveled quite a long way and over a long period of time to get there and would be gone when they reopened. The person who worked there understood my situation and was nice enough to let us in. I was able to find two hats that I really loved. The specific style of hat I was searching for is extremely difficult to find. I was SO thankful that they let me in to shop after hours. They have gained a customer! I would give 0 stars if I could just based on a quick phone call with (I assume based off these reviews) the owner. I called asking if they did re-shaping, I had a felt that was bent out of shape and it needed some love. This is NOT the place. I explained it was a thrift find made by a well known brand, the edges had curled and the front brim was crooked. She immediately had an attitude, told me she didn't really care about my explanation and said they needed to see it before she would give me an answer, but "DO NOT come today, we're closing soon". 1. They didn't close for a half hour 2. Who would tell a customer not to come in and turn away business? 3. After this convo I would never walk thru their doors anyways I then read the rest of the Yelp reviews and I'm so happy I steered clear and was able to get shaped elsewhere. Yikes. read more
