My friend and I stopped in on an icy day and were the only customers. It was our first time shopping for boots. There were fewer fun colors than some other stores but had what we needed since neither of us were looking for our first boots to be too wild. Randy was very knowledgeable about brands and caring for the boots. He answered all our questions patiently and was attentive without being overbearing. Rotten boot nasty attitude. Unbelievably terrible customer service. Tall skinny man with the dead sewer rat growing out of his head needs to learn some manners and how to treat customers. A friend asked if they had another sizes of a specific shoe and instead of redirecting her to the correct rack, this terrible salesperson very rudely said "well it would be in the 7 rack". This man continued to intimidate my friend into buying something. Another friend tried on a pair of shoes and asked where the mirror was so he could look at how the boots look on him, the same salesperson said "the price tag is listed on the right side of the boot, did you make sure these are in your wheelhouse? Would you actually buy them?" my friend said "I would like to look at them before I buy them" but the salesperson kept reiterating that he should make sure those boots are in my friend's "wheelhouse." We felt like it was on purpose and that we were racially profiled/discriminated against because we were a group of young POC. Truly off put by the experience in there that we rather step outside in the muggy weather instead of being in the energy of that awful store. read more

I walked in this shop with a group of 10 people ready to spend money and excited to get some boots. All of us were. They profiled us and assumed we wouldn't be able to afford items in their shop. Alright, once you've feel you've become a 'local', and you still want a pair of cowboy boots, this joint in Belle Meade is a place worth stopping in. You won't feel as hokey as you will downtown with people buying boots just to buy boots because they want to feel southern for a whole night. They sell work boots and hiking boots as well, so it's not limited to those concrete cowboys in town. The shop owners are super friendly, but don't hover over you like you're the next big thief in their lives. I would never give this place my service! Rarely am I offended as a customer, but I came in with intentions to make a $400 purchase on a pair of Luchese's and left with insults. The service was awful! I don't like to be hovered over, but this was the opposite. He never left from behind the desk, just staring at us and we asked several questions with one word answers. After a few minutes, he asked me to take off the boot if I wasn't going to purchase, accusing me of "show rooming" . When I admitted to being unfamiliar with the term, he told me to google it. As for my experience in store, I tried on a stack of boots, I asked a few questions (this was my first pair) and was run through all the necessary details in terms of construction, care and maintenance. I ended up buying a pair of Tony Lamas and am quite happy. A bit of a bummer about the store is that you can save about $10 by buying online.
