I recently took my 1997 Chrysler Sebring in to have the door repaired. Somehow I was able to break off the exterior handle, and after having it replaced at Pep Boys, the locking mechanism on the outside stopped working. Granted, I first attempted to fix this my self but once I saw the inner-workings of the door in all its glory, I decided to take it to Hatch during my annual Christmas visit from Los Angeles. The guy behind the service counter, we'll call him John because I think that's what he said his name is, stared blankly at me as I described the problem. I explained that all I wanted was for the door to be disassembled and reassembled tightly and to have the locking mechanism looked at and repaired so I could use the key to get in. He continued to stare blankly at me as I handed him my keys. I asked him the hourly rate, he said $80. Volunteering again, no information I had to ask him how long it would take. "About an hour." I should have stayed for that hour. Instead, I decided to walk around Safford and visit my grandmother. 2 and a half hours later, I got a call telling me that they were having computer problems (apparently the Internet works so slow there that it takes 2 and a half hours for someone to call you) and that they should have a quote for me on all the parts I needed. Mind you, all the parts were already there, they just needed to be reassembled correctly. At about 4:50, just before closing, I got a call telling me that the car wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. (Should I mention the part where I woke up early and took the car in at 8:00AM only to make an appointment to bring it back at 2?) At a little after 5 (and their closing) I got to my precious Sebring only to find out they had made it worse. The interior lock wouldn't lay all the way down, the door now not only won't lock from the outside, but it won't even OPEN from the outside and here's the real kicker...they BROKE the interior handle off. So now it won't open from the INSIDE either. Not without an extremely strong hand. Now here's where things get real sleazy, John was kind enough to "not charge" me for the work they did that day and claimed that his guy (who was mysteriously not around to explain what happened) found my interior door handle broken off. That it was "like that when they got it". Additionally, they used the screws from INSIDE the door, to reassemble the outside of the door, that is to say, the black decorative screws were tossed in the door pocket with other "extra" parts and shiny brass ones were used in their place making the door look hideous AND broken. They weren't even sensitive enough to put the door back together properly after breaking it and spending the afternoon searching for the part they broke. There are a bunch of other places in town to take your car if you need something repaired. I don't care if you and the Hatches are Mormon. There's no reason to be loyal to such an unprofessional group of jackwagons. read more

I'd click less than one star if I could. I took my 2007 caravan in for warranty work. I was told on the phone I'd be charged a diagnosis fee because it was probably squirrel damage which isn't covered under warranty. I'm so glad Tim was psychic and could tell me what it was before he even had the car. I was having problems starting and I already took the car to Auto Zone. They tested the batt. and the alternator. They said the alt was bad which is why I took it to a Dodge dealer because the alt is under warranty still. I dropped it off on Monday. They kept the car until Thursday only to call and say it was the battery and that I owed them $90 for a diagnosis fee and they'd be glad to install a new Batt for $125. Since the battery is less than a year old and also under warranty I took it back to autozone where I bought the Batt. They tested it again. 100% charge and no bad cells. I paid $90 for someone to keep my car for 5 days and tell me a bogus line about they're being an internal short in the battery. Avoid at All Cost. Stopped in just to see if the service department could take a quick look to tell us why the check engine light on our Dodge was on. Took the tech less than five minutes and they charged us $90. Perhaps we should have been better consumers and asked before hand about the charge or perhaps the service writer should have told us. If we only knew the cost for this we would not have done it. Was going to go there for repairs and other service but forget it now. read more

Absolutely Do Not Go To Hatch Brothers! Horrible customer service and Charlie Hatch has no idea how to operate a business. I took my car in and it sat for three days before they diagnosed the problem. Hatch Brothers will not honor Dodge Cooperation coupons for service work. I spent over $600.00 dollars for a repair and the car was returned with the alarm system that Dodge disabled. The alarm was purchased through Dodge and Dodge said I needed to work it out with the aftermarket manufacture. It wouldn't be a problem if Dodge didn't disable a system purchased through Dodge. They did give an alternative, which was go to Phoenix and have the dealership that it was purchased through fix it. The trip to Phoenix or Tucson is well worth the time and money. My experience is that other Dodge dealerships honor not only Dodge Cooperation coupons, but also competitor coupons for service work. My experience Outside of Hatch Brothers, you will get excellent customer service, your car will get diagnosed the day it's dropped off, and any mishaps caused by Dodge--Dodge has always repaired there damages. For a few bucks you would think that Charlie Hatch would have fixed their damages. Charlie Hatch didn't even address me personally, but had his representatives call to inform me that I was sh** out of luck. For a small town, one would think that the customer service would be above reproach. This is the type of service you are look at......save your time and money and take a trip to Tucson or Phoenix. read more

Hatch is wonderful for buying a car. That is where it ends. The service department is terrible. They never stick to their time schedule. I was recently told service would take 3 hours so I scheduled it first thing in the morning since I needed to pick up my grandson by 2. At 1 I called and learned all the mechanics were at lunch and they would call me back. I live 45 minutes from town and was waiting at my daughter's house in town and had no other transportation to get my grandson. Luckily my husband was off that day so he had to drive the 45 minutes to come pick up my grandson. At 1:30 they called and said the service would take at least another hour. The sad thing about this is that the check engine light had come on 2 weeks prior and they had no appointments and told us we could go get a diagnostic done at another garage so we did. I took the diagnostic paperwork to Hatch to see if they had the part made an appointment for the following week with Hatch. Got there and after we arrived was told that the appointment we had was not long enough to make the repair. But they could do the diagnostic...another $80. Come back next week and they would schedule all morning with head mechanic. Blocked off all morning for us. Today when the call came in at 1:30....I told the girl about the 3 hours it was supposed to take and I needed to pick up my grandson. The response...our mechanic had other things come up that needed taken care of. Made me feel rather unimportant. Guess that big block of time for my car really didn't matter. This is not the first time this has happened to us. My daughter bought her car there too. There was a recall and so she made the appointment for it. After she sat there for an hour and a half they came out and told her not all the parts were there for it. She needed to come back another time. Service area also has no seating...you can sit in parts department which is not very nice either. My recommendation is buy your car at another dealer. We only go there for recalls and warranty work and it is frustrating every single time. If there was another Dodge dealer locally, I would definitely head there! read more

I bought my car from this dealership a couple of years ago and get a certain percentage off my services, so I decided to get my oil change here. I was told after they were done I would get a call, and after waiting over the time told it would take, I returned to find my car sitting and waiting in the parking lot. They never called. Also, I paid over double the amount I pay when I go anywhere else, even with my "discount"! I think I'll be going elsewhere for oil changes, which is too bad because I really would like to support the dealership my car came from. read more
