I figured an almost $60 receipt, for three adults and one kids meal, warrants a review, fo' sure! First, I'm going in on the food! Ok, this place looks so family friendly, but the food (for adults) is not family friendly. You'll pay like the are five guys working in the back! It's costly, because everything is "a la carte." You're going to pay for any extras you want on your burger, unless you order a specialty burger. Let me tell you, there may be fanfare because of the story, the fact that the beef is fresh, the building looks cool, and the name of the burgers are hats, but the burgers are not $6 good! They aren't even the size of the best $10 burger I've ever had...and that burger came with fries AND a drink! So, here is what we ordered: one chicken cob salad, one little hat (with a 29 cent slice of cheese), one Cowboy Hat, one regular sized soft drink, two milkshakes, and one Tiny Hat kids meal with a milkshake. - The Tiny Hat kids burger is smaller than ANY kids burger I've ever seen! Even my 10 year old looked at it with disdain. Not worth the money! The milkshakes were OK, but I've had much better, for less coin. The place: When open the door to the establishment, you are automatically in line. There isn't any space between the door and the counter. In fact, the indoor dinning room, is just a couple of steps from the counter and consists of about three rows of small, picnic style tables that might sit about twenty people. From the counter to the fountain drinks, napkins, and condiments is about three steps, which is one step from the row of tables. With people going in an out to the covers, closed-in, ice house styled patio area, getting your drink can be pretty tricky. I was frustrated. Then, the covered, indoor patio area was interesting. There was a combination of picnic style tables, low pub style tables, and regular square, four seat tables. The chairs were accompanied by these little kids seats that had no backs and they were intermingled and strewn all throughout out the patio area. I had to take two away from our table, but there was no place to put them, so the stools just sat behind us, as we ate. Then, there were the fans. Oooooo, the fans! So, there are four fans, mounted in the four corners of the patio area. They were on full blast and the were blowing napkins and food wrappers all over the place. I looked for a way to turn them down, but they were mounted so high that the pull chain was unreachable. We just hurried through our meal and got the heck out of there. There is nothing to keep me coming back here. They can make their profit off of some other sucker, who thinks it's worth parting with hard earned money over. I'm small minded. read more

The food concept is similar to Five Guys, SmashBurger, etc. where they've dressed up the hamburger fast casual experience, but what really sets them apart, is that they then included a large playground area for your kids making it very family friendly. It's genius, especially placing them in the suburbs near a dense population of young families dying to get out of the house, but unwilling to unleash their brood on a more formal sit down dining restaurant. The burgers are great, they have hot dogs, and chicken tenders to boot. There's even beer on tap to treat the parents and ice cream to treat the kids. The playground and dining area was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the food came out with little wait. If you're craving a burger or similar bites and have kids in tow, Hat Creek is a great option. If you absolutely hate children, avoid at all costs, or use their drive thru option. read more

When i saw this being built, I got so excited. I had heard great things about this restaurant. So we decided to try it today and so glad we did. They have a dining area inside, a dining closed in outside with fans and music and they have dining outside by the playground. It makes it where everyone can be happy and eat anywhere. The menu isn't huge but they have a lot of choices. Small burgers, double burgers, veggie burgers and chicken sandwiches. You can pick what you want on it, and made to order. The meat is so fresh and not hard or over done. The veggie burger was very good. We also decided to try to fried pickles and the fries. Fried pickles were awesome! They were thick slicked and not over breaded. I definitely recommend it. The fries were great. They make shoe string fries. The burger was juicy and the bread was fresh and great! We love Hat Creek Burgers and enjoy coming here to let our kids play. On this particular occasion, we found poop on the slide and our children had already played on the play set before we discovered it. I went and told the girl at the counter and asked if they would clean it and she shrugged at me. I asked her if they clean the play equipment and she said she didn't think so. Hat Creek has grown on me over time. I used to just think of it as a place where well to do Millennials take their kids to play while they drink craft beer and their wives drink wine. More than likely were on the patio reliving their fraternity and sorority days while trying to wash away the daily harshness that comes with job hopping in the corporate oil sector. Eggs are tender and the sausage has a good texture with slight hints of ground pork (go figure) Flat hats (pancakes for you Gen-Xers) are properly cooked and err slightly on the sweet side. Coffee is strong, and it's up to you to take it like a man, or pour in some of that foo-foo stuff you saw over on TikTok. The food was great! Reasonable prices for the serving sizes. The cashier was very kind and was trying to help us. He thanked us for coming after our meal, and he smiled while bussing tables. 5 stars for him, and the food! The only issue was the manager on the night of 8/11/24. We came in around 8pm, and the manager refused to great us. He rolled his eyes when we began to order, deep sighed, then went back to the kitchen. When we ordered chips and queso, the manager told the cashier that he wasn't making any more, and to tell us he was out. Again, it was an hour before closing time. The manager was clearly trying to close early (he was cleaning the kitchen), and hey, I get it, but you also have to serve people with kindness. For a restaurant that prides itself on fellowship, this manager is an absolute liability to the brand. He served out food, as well. The loaded fries had about 15 (not being funny, that's a real estimate) pieces of shredded cheese on it, and about 5 bacon pieces. I get that you don't want to do your job I guess, but at least don't make it the customer's problem, ya know? When he walked outside, he noticed the dirty tables all around (I cleaned our table myself) and put our food down without a word and with a scowl on his face. Didn't stick around to pick up the tables, just made the cashier go out and do it. Maybe he was just having an off night, but they should switch jobs, because only one of the two employees could muster up an ounce of customer service/fellowship, and it wasn't the manager on duty This is more so a brag on the young man that helped us, because he was carrying out a work-culture that his manager was not attempting to uphold. I didn't get his name, but his kindness and willingness to do his job is commendable, and we'll be back for more good food and more good people like him! This place turned out to e be a disappointment. We watched it being built for months excitedly wondering what they were building. When we finally found out we were happy to see a new burger joint. The day of our first trip well i guess it is what it is. The seating is mostly communal and most of it is on the covered patio. So dining when its 95 degrees with probably be dinning in 95 degrees. Then we com to the price. We ordered two burgers and two fries and three drinks$26. Ouch. They do seem to have a nice play ground though. read more

I've visited several Hat Creeks around this area but this is my favorite. Their sweet potato fries are undefeated, and it's easily one of the better fast food burgers around. What makes this location my favorite is how clean the space is and how kind the staff is. The manager, Karen, made it a point to come talk to me and make me feel welcome. The burgers at Hat Creek Burger are probably some of the best fast food burgers you'll get. I'd rate them as slightly better than Whataburger. One of my favorite things about Hat Creek is they give you the option to have a "Paleo Bowl" instead of a burger. Their Fries taste great and are seasoned well. Same goes for the sweet potato fries. I haven't tried the tater tots but I'm sure they're pretty good as well. When it comes to the sauces I recommend the Fry Sauce and Hat Sauce. We ordered delivery and the bread was so soggy we thought something had been spilled on it. The fries and tots very greasy. Lettuce was extremely wilted. The fried chicken sandwich was overcooked and very salty. I also ordered a bottled water and didn't receive it.
