If the goal was to make customers feel like an inconvenience rather than, you know, customers...mission accomplished. The good news is they did us a favor. We found a new place, Masti Fun Indian Street Eats, that actually welcomes business and, as it turns out, makes far better naan anyway. Shocking how that works. So yes, what used to be a go-to is now a hard pass. If you're craving unnecessary rules with your food, this is your spot. Otherwise, you might want to look elsewhere.

A good option if you have a cold/flu. The Tiffin Sambar was very generic and bland. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The service can be much more improved and better coordinated among the staff. They are very active on WhatsApp and Facebook but offer differing answers over the phone versus in person. For instance, they posted about Masala Vada Beach Sundal, and when we enquired if dine-in was available, they said yes. But once we went there, the item was sold out, and they said there was no dine-in. They didn't even care to apologize after realizing they had responded incorrectly. Another instance was when we ordered online and called them & clearly mentioned we didn't need any masala or podi on the Benne dosa because it was for the kid - they still added it and defended it, saying we had asked for "low masala." I mean, what is "low masala"? Even after clearly communicating in Tamil saying "Masala or Podi vendam," they insisted, "Please try offering it to the kid." How can a 2-year-old handle that spice? And yes, the masala was a lot, it was definitely not "low." Also the owner or manager, whoever it is, could be a bit more humble and step back if they are not comfortable handling customers at the cash register/front desk. These are things they can definitely improve when it comes to service. There are tons of other restaurants here that do this better, and if they continue with this unapologetic attitude, it won't be ideal for customers. BOTTOMLINE: A very good restaurant when it comes to serving authentic Madras-style food true to its name, but it definitely needs to revisit its pricing and service, especially the hot lunch. Accountability for their responses and service needs to improve significantly.
